two

past:

it was one fateful day when she collided with someone on the first day of her last year of middle school. she fell and so did the person she collided with. she was scared but he laughed as he stood up and gives her his hand. she took it, and he gently pulled her up.

"i am so sorry" he said, dusting his clothes.

"you're new too?" he smiled and continued before she even got a chance to reply.

"hi, I'm kai. nice to make your acquaintance." he took out his hand with a bright smile and she hesitantly shakes it.

cherry blossoms fell over them as they were standing under the sakura tree. and just like that, spring of her life came.

but just like spring, all the seasons were meant to come.

"wh.. why are yo..you not going in?"

luna managed to ask somehow.

kai laughed nervously, "kinda scared, i think? i mean it's entirely new. a whole different life lies ahead. i will go now, with you." he looks at her with a bright smile and she couldn't help but stare.

she nodded and started walking towards that her school, "hey, wait upp." he yelled, catching up to her.

present:

"luna... lunaaaa" delilah whispered loud enough to grab her attention, bringing luna back to reality as she turns her face to delilah.

"pass me a pencil." delilah whispered and luna passed her one.

is that true what she saw? is he really back? she really hoped it was one of the tricks her mind was playing.

she tried, worked so hard on herself trying to forget him, does he really needed to come back?! that asshole brought her sickness with her.

she was terrified as she was holding that petal tight in her fist. almost, crying, she slowly opens her fist, a crumbled petal lies on her palm made her swallow hard. why does life has to be so unfair with her? why is she meant to suffer the misery? she couldn't understand.

a teardrop escaped her eye as she couldn't her heart from beating that fast. her heart beating that fast, wasn't a beautiful feeling. it was fucking painful. the flowers are growing in her lungs, once again. it may be beautiful but it's suffocating.

she wished to jump from the window, not to kill herself but to escape his presence and the truth that her sickness might be back.

her disease just got better and he showed up again.

time passed by and the bell rung. the day was over. she got up from her seat and made her way outside the class as soon as possible, with her two friends following her.

"is everything alright?" flora asked as she puts her hand on luna's shoulder.

"y..yeah, I'm just very tired. i will be ok tomorrow." she faked a smiled and separated herself from them.

she rushed to her home and saw her mother sitting on the stairs of her place with her face covered in her hands.

she looked tired, bruised. luna walked over and opened the door making her mother look up, maybe she fell asleep. who knows.

she didn't bother asking where her mother's been for the last couple of days. she made her way to the kitchen to drink water and saw her mother making her way to her bedroom.

she walks over to her mother's bedroom and finds her mother dozed off. she turns off the lights and pull up the blanket till her neck. she sighs as she looks at her mother's face.

delicate features, but eye bags as heavy as hers. light brown hair, messy, like hers. the wrinkles were more creased than before, it's been a while since she looked at her mother's face like this, has she always been this beautiful? despite all the flaws luna could see, but overall her mother was pretty, unlike her.

her mother moves her head to the other side, making luna realize that she has been staring for too long, she's supposed to hate her mother.

she shakes her head and walks to her room.
