The Kundalini-Serpent in Action

Hugo plummeted into the endless darkness of the Dark Canyon. It was perfect, a sort of visual silence that gave him an ominous feeling.

For a while, his descent was plain-sailing without signs of anything that could threaten his life. But everything changed when he was four to five seconds into his free-fall.

The darkness that felt more like fog (rather than mere shadow) rushed down into his mouth and nose as he inhaled, and he began choking. His heart raced with sudden panic, and he reached up to his face only to find it coated with a thin layer of palpable darkness.

Hugo scraped at it with his fingers, but he was unable to clear it away. He struggled and choked, but only more darkness rushed into his windpipe before seeping into his mana channels.
