Ch.5

Jenny was on her way home, walking in an alleyway for a shortcut. She got a bit tipsy as she spent drinking at the bar earlier.

She was still pissed off about what happened earlier that morning between her and Paris. Even after she got drunk to forget, she still can't forget that scene from before Timothy was seen dead.

Jenny didn't meant to take a peek that time, she just wanted to find somewhere she could hide from the crowd, she didn't even know why she came when she wasn't even that close to Hailey. Maybe it was because it's a party that's why she came that day.

When she opened that door to where Timothy was, she didn't knew it was him at first... but she felt like she recognize the girl humping and moaning on top of the guy.

The first one to come into her mind was Merida, but she's not that type of woman, everyone knows that or Jenny just found out something about the girl.

Jenny didn't bothered about it anymore and left to go to the garden instead, the others who wants some breather are seem to be there as well so she stayed for a while and went inside to get another drink.

And not too soon, a scream emitted throughout the whole house.

The crowd are piling up on the room she accidentally took a peek earlier. A little while later, she saw Merida pass by the crowd crying and went outside.

She realized something that day even though she's drunk.

That time when she saw some girl humping on a man, that man was Timothy. And the woman must have been the murderer... since it's not that long when she left the room alone and Merida finding the corpse.

So the woman she saw wasn't Merida, she knew someone who have the same hair-length like Merida's and that woman who probably killed Tim.

Paris West, but she couldn't tell the detective what she witnessed or who she thought it was. Because she wasn't sure and she was anxious that day so she can't say what she really saw.

Jenny's thoughts have snapped when someone was blocking her way. She even stopped walking just to look at who it is.

"Oh. It's just you. What do you want?" She asked the person.

But they didn't answered her and instead, they slashed her throat but not enough to die that easily.

Jenny was in pain, shock and realization. She started to vomit blood, the taste was awful, metallic.

She wants the pain to stop, Jenny cried while she fell to the ground trying to reach the person, at least their feet.

"You saw... You saw what I did." They said and crouched in front of her.

"And I'm afraid you should be silenced." And with that, Jenny's tongue is pulled from her mouth.

She can't even do anything as the numbing pain is slowly tiring her out.

But she screamed some more when she felt the person's blade slicing through her tongue.

She can't take it anymore, she tried to thrash around but she can't even lift a finger anymore.

There's too much blood running out of her, even her screams became weak.

"And now... for the eyes."

But she didn't felt anything anymore, she don't see anything but black even though her eyes are open, she don't hear even a word as well.

"Oh you died already?" They asked as if Jenny can hear them.

"I'm still taking your eyes though." They just said and proceeded to do their task.

Tomorrow morning, Jenny Morgan's body is found at the alleyway.

Roy Edward Adams–the detective–knew this case could be related to the previous murder of Timothy Green as soon as the identity of the victim was announced to him as Jenny Morgan.

"Her tongue and eyes are removed from her Sir, but unlike the previous ones, they are all just left here." The forensics told him.

"Search for her belongings then we'll bring her to the lab for autopsy." Roy instructed which is easily obliged.

Jenny Morgan, dumped by Timothy Green for Merida Allen. Merida doesn't have enough motive to kill her but she still needs to be investigated for both cases.

The scene was preserved after they held the investigation, then they proceeded to take Jenny Morgan to the laboratory while Roy went straight to his office.

He massaged his eyes as he haven't been sleeping well since this case started, and now... another one added to the list.

He is sure that the suspect is only one person.

The first murder case was a couple, scalpel was used as a weapon, it was missing in the operation room, a tool which is very important in the process of surgery since the couple are surgeons in the area but the weirdest thing is that they have an operating room at their house.

He investigated it further and it seemed that the couple are running some underground operations for criminals but the contacts for them are gone in their phone, the block list are filled though, maybe they decided to have a new life.

Roy and his team checked all their belongings, a safe was opened, seem like the money was there and there seemed to be a used bedroom other than the Master's but the neighbors said that they didn't have a child.

The bedroom don't have that much things, and the clothes were wiped out. They investigated the room as well, but unfortunately, it was cleaned.

He even called their relatives and friends to announce the death and to ask some questions, they too, have said that the couple don't have a child.

But he saw in one of their documents that they registered in this Good Shepered Orphanage which is 6 months ago.

Maybe they tried to take care of him and now the kid is nowhere to be found.

But the only person seen to get out of the house was a grown up. Probably a teen.

And so he called the orphanage and they said that the couple, Mr. and Mrs. Ravens have adopted a child, more like a teen but they only happened to adopt her 6 months ago.

Maybe because of the issues about the underground clinic.

But the adoption facilitator said that they've been visiting the kid for years, maybe about 5 years, she said.

The facilitator didn't disclose the kid's gender as it's against their policy to give the children's privacy to non registered clients.

But she still said that the kid was weird since a child and was being sent back and forth from families to the orphanage.

And the reason was, the kid was about to hurt them.

They wanted to have the kid rehabilitated but, Mr. and Mrs. Ravens suddenly came to the kid's life.

"We thought something was gonna change, because the kid was happy, the couple was happy. Even though they haven't adopted the kid yet, they seemed like a family. I don't know the reason but that went for at least 5 years until they adopted the kid 6 months ago." The facilitator disclose.

"How old is this kid you were talking about?" Roy asked on the phone.

"It is against–"

"It'll help us very much if you say this just personal information about the kid." Roy tried to convince.

There was a moment of silence at the end, maybe contemplating to do their job or to help the others.

"The kid is very much likely not a kid anymore, the kid just turned 18 when the couple adopted them."

That conversation occured three years ago, meaning the kid's probably 21 by now. A college student.
