Things change

The sun shone through the car windows as they drove past familiar streets and houses. To her, much was changed but nothing really. Everytime a familiar store or tree passed by them, a wave of nostalgia hit her.

"We are going to our signature ice-cream parlor, right?" She asked him as the car pulled on the way she knew by heart.

"Look who got smarter." He replied with a chuckle and she laughed as well.

She wasn't ready for this reunion but agreed for it nevertheless. She didn't plan on staying here for longer so meeting her friends in the meantime sounded a good idea. A pile of mixed thoughts started gathering in her head as they pulled in front of a small shop which stood out from the surroundings due to its bold yellow and blue colour with abstract patterns over the walls.

How would they greet me? Would they even talk to me? How would Alex react? Would Sandra forgive me? She couldn't help but think about all the things that could go wrong.
