Escaping the Collapsing Cave System

The collision flung the rabbit queen into the wall where her figure left an imprint on the rocks. She got up and stared at the wind spirit.

'Y-you, it can't be. Roaming the surface is a sin. It's blasphemy!'

Surprisingly, the wind spirit spoke in a staticky and fuzzled voice.

"This is only a drop of my previous powers. I have done nothing wrong, meanwhile, you aren't supposed to be here."

Even though the giant, white rabbit queen sounded confident, even Leon could tell she had started to tremble.

"It's only a drop of your powers. Surely, you don't think I can't defeat you."

Still talking in a scrambled and staticky voice the spirit of wind did something similar to a laugh.

"You think too highly of yourself. You are a mere speck of dust."

Although the rabbit had been confident in her words, the moment the wind spirit finished talking she shrieked and started to dash for one of the tunnels that went deeper. The wind spirit tried to intercept the rabbit by launching a tornado of wind from her palm.

The tornado had become like a vicious wolf that ran towards the rabbit and would cut anything that stood in its way. When it neared the rabbit queen, the rabbit queen tried its best to dodge, but with its big body, but the attack managed to hit one of the rabbit queen's ears that tore it off completely.

It roared with pain but continued to escape as the smaller rabbits followed their queen down the tunnel.

Still accelerating, the attack drilled into the wall of the cave and didn't stop penetrating the walls as the entire cave started to shake and dust started to fall from the ceiling as cracks appeared.

Surprisingly, the wind spirit didn't follow the rabbit and started to slowly fade out from the room, as it scanned the room its eyes lingered on Leon and it spoke with a curious tone.

"Interesting...to think a storm born would be here...quite intriguing…"

The wind spirit completely disappeared and the shamaness had fallen unconscious long ago, while the group looked up at the shaking and cracking of the ceiling.

Raging Bull grabbed the unconscious shamaness and the group of barbarians started to run up the tunnel they came from. Little Lightning didn't follow them but went over to the body of the fallen barbarian and tore off a necklace.

As he prepared to follow his group, he looked back towards Leon and gave some advice.

"You should come with us foreigner. This place will be buried soon."

He then immediately started to rush up the tunnel as well, before Leon could say anything. Leon knew the barbarian was correct, but before he could follow he had to go back for Aurora. He turned around and started sprinting as fast as he could towards the tunnel he came from to grab Aurora.

The moment he made it to the entrance of the tunnel. He saw Aurora who was running towards him. Aurora started to shout.

"I'm sorry. I know that I didn't stay put, but the whole place was shaking and I got wor-"

Before she could say another word, Leon had already picked up Aurora and carried her in one arm as he sheathed Ensis into his beat-up and shabby leather sheath. With Aurora in tow, his mussels contracted and his heart started pumping blood to his legs as his veins started to slightly bulge and he took off as fast as he could.

The entire cave system started to shake more and more, although nothing big had fallen yet Leon suspected that the entire thing would soon collapse.

His suspicions would be correct as he continued following the tunnel that sloped upwards some small rocks starts to fall down in the tunnel. Seeing the things, Leon's eyes showed panic and he continued to work his legs to the bone.

He didn't know how far he had to go, but he didn't think the distance would be too far. The only issue was the fact that the slope of the tunnel was so steep that even Leon's legs which had been transformed once felt like they were burning up.

However, he didn't dare stop as the rocks slowly became bigger as they fell from the ceiling over time. After a whole minute of running, Leon turned around a curve and looked up to where he could see a whitish light, and exclaimed.

'The surface!'

Seeing the beautiful surface and sunlight, Leon's motivation skyrocketed as he continued to push through the burning sensation that stabbed his leg muscles when he took each long stride ferociously.

However, as he came closer to freedom, the falling rocks which were originally the size of a baseball had already turned to the size of basketballs.

Leon couldn't take any chances and unsheathed Ensis as he started roaring and slicing any rock that blocked his way or tried to hit him. Just as he was a few meters away from the exit, a large portion of the ceiling fell down, threatening to block the exit entirely.

With no option left, Leon was forced to cut the falling boulder entirely. Normally just his strength wouldn't be enough to cut through such a solid and big piece of rock, however, he didn't just need his strength.

He flung as many wind slashes as he could with Ensis and as he approached for the final slash. A solid white sheen of wind covered his blade and started to rotate like a chainsaw. Leon roared.

"Winds Edge!"

Ensis went cut straight through the giant falling piece of rock like a piece of paper as the sheen of wind made the entire process even easier.

With the rock cut, Leon leaned in with his shoulder and rushed ran through the rock and fell onto the ground with a thud as he slid across the floor due to the incredible amount of momentum he had been carrying.

But before Leon could catch his breath, he felt two sets of hands grab onto his shoulder and start pulling him away. When Leon was about to turn around and see who was dragging him, the ground where he was lying cracked and caved into the ground as the earth looked like a star that had imploded into itself.
