The Attack on the Silce King's Castle (3)

Leon and the group swiftly made their way through the underground tunnels and surprisingly didn't run into much.

He looked towards Aurora who was next to Crushing Fang at the front of the group and asked.

"Are there really no monsters or animals in the tunnel?"

Aurora shook her head with confident certainty.

"There shouldn't be as the entire place was cleaned and cleared before they sealed the entire place. The only way for anything to be here is if they broke the seal as we did."

Holding a torch, Leon looked around and only saw thick layers of dust situated everywhere with nothing else.

After a few minutes of walking the squad finally reached a split in the seemingly straight tunnel. The group looked towards Aurora who scrunched her brows in confusion as she muttered.

"I thought it was a straight path from the castle…"

Crushing Fang didn't seem to be fazed at all and merely started walking down the right path. The group just followed the man for another few minutes as he randomly chose right or left as they faced dozens of more choices.

Finally, the squad reached a wall that looked identical to the first one that Crushing Fang had broken earlier.

Everyone seemed to know the drill as they stepped back and Crushing Fang swung his axe at the wall which crumbled easily once again.

After the dust settled a small room was revealed with a ladder that went up to an identical manhole in the road.

The same warrior who lifted the manhole earlier climbed on the ladder and used his feet to hold on while he pushed up with his arms but after a few seconds of pushing with all his strength but the cover wouldn't budge.

After another attempt, the man hopped off the ladder and shook his head.

"I can't open this thing. Something seems to be covering it."

Aurora thought about it for a second then said.

"They probably built over it and since the materials for the castle were made to be sturdy, it would be quite difficult to break such a thing with pure strength."

This meant that the person with the most brute strength had to do it and everyone turned to Crushing Fang who was dusting off his axe.

Seeing everyone stare at him, Crushing Fang looked up with a surprised look.

"Am I needed?"

Everyone sighed in their minds as they realized their leader was sometimes the most serious person then he could turn into a child who doesn't pay attention to his surroundings, so they all gestured towards the manhole cover then back to him.

Getting the hint, Crushing Fang exclaimed after realizing what they wanted and stood on the metal ladder.

The metal ladder was rusted and old, but impressively managed to hold Crushing Fang's heavyweight without creaking.

Seeing that he wasn't going to fall off the ladder, Crushing Fang put his giant hands against the cold metal manhole cover and started to push with a little bit of his strength.

Although he wasn't pushing with his whole strength, Crushing Fang looked slightly surprised as he realized that the manhole cover didn't even move a bit.

Not wanting to appear weak, Crushing Fang used more of his strength, although it still hadn't even reached half of his total strength.

The manhole cover started to shake as some muffled cracking sounded from the opposite side of the cover.

Hearing the cracks, Crushing Fang slowly added more strength until the manhole cover suddenly broke apart the tough floor that also broke as a manhole cover shaped hole appeared in the floor with Crushing Fang holding it up.

Crushing Fang easily tossed the piece of floor and manhole cover he was holding across the room and lifted himself off the ground.

Soon the rest of the squad follow suit and climbed up into the room. The room itself was obviously a bathroom of some sort.

After everyone had climbed up, Crushing Fang got his weapon ready and whispered.

"Ready?"

Everyone nodded and he opened the door as he quickly ran out to surprise any enemies that might be outside, but soon the squad realized that there were no soldiers, guards, or anyone for that matter around them.

Aurora carefully looked around and suddenly a smile appeared on her face.

"I think I know where we are! I've been in this particular place once but we should be near the king's chamber. We just have to take this hallway down and turn right then left until we see two huge doors."

Crushing Fang nodded until the castle itself shook slightly then he smiled.

"It seems like the other warriors are causing one hell of a distraction. Let's go! Time is crucial!"

He started to quickly run down the hall and the squad immediately started to follow. Crushing Fang followed what Aurora said and after two turns and a lot of running, sure enough, two giant wooden doors faced the group.

Leon had a few beads of sweat as the group had moved quite quickly and he could barely keep up, while another warrior carried Aurora.

With a slightly increased breathing pattern, Leon asked.

"So how should we enter?"

Before anyone answered him, Crushing Fang walked towards the wooden door that stood well above the height of a normal building and roared.

"Sometimes you just have to punch your way in!"

With a loud punch that landed on the door, the entire door seemed to creak as the polished and enchanted wood splintered off and the dozens of hinges that held the door in place broke like a paperclip while the door fell down.

Since the door was huge when it fell it displaced the air and landed loudly on the marbled ground. A huge gust of air flew past the group and Leon's slightly overgrown hair flew with the wind.

Barely being able to see into the room, Leon squinted and saw twenty or so knights surrounding an obese man who looked incredulously at the group of warriors who had literally punched down his front door.

Time seemed to have stood still as both sides stared at each other until Crushing Fang continued to charge forward and the overweight man on the throne dropped his wine glass as he shouted.

"GET THEM!"
