The Dorm Room

'Levi~...'

'Levi~...'

'Levi~...'

My eyes twitched at the continues call of my voice. I was in a dark place again; I have been frantically calling out to the voice that was calling me.

The first one was that it did not respond. It wasn't responding today too, but instead of silence, it calls out to me. I don't know why, but I can't distinguish of what gender the one that the voice belonged to was. The voice was both feminine and masculine sounding all at the same time.

So it was hard to determine which one's which.

This time, I could also move. Therefore, I walked aimlessly in the darkness; occasional whispers can be heard in all sides so I tried following it. I feel like I was only walking in circles seeing that I have no indication on where I was going. The room was pitch black and all you can see is darkness ahead so frustrating maybe an understatement.

'Levi~' I heard it call again, now it was coming from my right so I turned and headed to my right.

Sure enough, I could hear some kind of noise in the distance. I felt excited all of a sudden and I sprinted towards it.

"Hello?! Is anyone there?!" I called as I huffed and sped towards the sound.

'What sound is this...?'

I thought as I can hear the noise growing louder and louder.

*Swish~ Swish~ Swish~*

'Is this... running water?' I thought curiously and in the far off distance, I could see a ray of light that seemed to be coming from an outside source. With a giddy feeling, I ran towards it and was fast approaching it.

The moment I was meters away from it, its light that I felt strangely, calmed me, by the embrace of brightness that was engulfing me.

I slowly opened my eyes to a beige ceiling. Groaning the second a headache made its way to my head; I clasped my head and buried my face on the pillow that I was laying on.

After a few minutes of recollection, I jolted from my bed and immediately regretted the move. I suddenly became light headed and had to lean forward and hold my head in pain. After a few seconds of endurance, I slowly lifted myself and gradually peeked at my surroundings.

Immediately, I did not recognize where I was and was still unable to grasp my thoughts all together.

I was still out of it for a couple of minutes, hardly trying to remember what happened to me.

Then, my eyes landed on my arms, covered in a thin layer of bandages. Confusion filled me until panic aroused slowly. My heart immediately sank the moment I had a grasp of my situation.

Unknown room, unknown injuries, my stuff missing, strangers might be lurking and are planning to get me.

All this thoughts flooded my head and I was slowly having a panic attack. I needed to calm down, but I was finding it hard to do so.

My eyes frantically roamed the place and I was looking for signs of possible torture gadgets or abusive traces. Yes, I was thinking for the worse and I did not like my thoughts either.

To my relief, I found nothing of the sort and was getting calmer by the second. First, I eased myself and tried breathing exercises to normalize the frantic beating of my heart. The second I calmed down, I roamed my gaze all-over the room again. Accessing my surroundings and trying to figure out the room.

Simple enough, it looked like a regular plain beige colored room. However, what intrigued me more was the other bed that was situated at my left. It was unmade and there were a lot of stuff scattered on top of it. Mostly girl clothes, dresses and a violet colored uniform. I stared at the uniform curiously before noticing a familiar sound. It was a bit faint, but I knew I heard it somewhere before.

Running water...

I followed the sound trying to pin point where it was coming from. Then, my eyes landed on a shiny red wooden door that was not too far from me. It stood a few feet away from the foot of my bed. There were nearly invisible steam coming from inside.

'Was there someone inside?' I thought in fright.

Then, my mind began to go frantic again.

'Could that be the one that brought me here?! What do I do? Surely, I've never been to this place before. I sure as hell know that this isn't the orphanage. Wait.... Orphanage... Where—' My thoughts were unintentionally cut short when a sudden pang of pain shot through my head in an instant.

I crouched and groaned in pain as sudden flashes of memory replayed in my mind. I don't think my head could take in much more of this and I began praying to god to stop it. But my cries were reached by deaf ears, thus I suffered for what felt like an eternity.

In the midst of my misery, I felt like someone was holding my wrists and trying to pry them off of my face. But I stubbornly held myself together in a ball, grasping my hair for dear life as the pain intensifies.

I could faintly feel anything other than the searing sensation that was befalling my head. I vaguely felt the cold sweat that drenched my body and the insistent touch of someone rubbing the base of my back.

I continued to writhe in pain for the past eternity or so, until I felt a numbing sensation follow the pain. My eyelids felt heavy and droopy as I felt cold all-over. In few more seconds, I let my body be consumed by the numbness and let my limbs fall freely to my sides.

Every breath I took in that moment felt shallow and it felt like it was leaving trails of fire down my throat. My vision began to shift from blurry to clear and I wasn't able to see clearly.

My mind just felt blank and numb as I feel myself be engulfed in a strange feeling of nothingness. I finally let my upper body fall to the bed, thus making me lift my head in the process and I could obscurely make out a figure sitting in front of me.

But due to the blurriness in my vision I was unable to distinguish the smudgy looking figure that was just in front of me.

I should have been freaking out the moment I see this, but even that, I had no energy to be hysterical and panic.

Though I was beginning to feel nothing but ticklish tingles, I still felt the way my body slammed into the mattress and began to feel a bit more oddly relaxed.

My eyes were beginning to open and close as I heard some kind of white noise in the background. Blocking any other sounds from entering my ears. This made me feel oddly satisfied and the last thing I saw was the smudgy figures seeming to hover over me as I let the claws of darkness pull me into the silence of unconsciousness.
