The Never Ending Sights Of Mouth Breathers

-Afternoon, Oceanic Sushi-

A group consisted of two boys, and two girls are sitting near the window while calling the waiter.

Joanne dashes toward them, and politely asks, "Are you ready to order?"

A guy squints his eyes for a bit and relaxedly says, "Hey, don't you go to Seaside high???"

Joanne frowns her eyebrows for a little and smiles.

"Yes, I do," she calmly answers.

"Wow, you work here???" he energetically asks like old friends meeting at a reunion.

"....Yes. Actually, I'm the daughter of the owner..." she answers politely.

"Wow! Really? Hey... why don't you join us here?" he asks her flirtatiously.

She scoffs and tries hard to politely answer, "I'm sorry, but I have to work..."

He scoffs back and replies, "Oh, come on! It'll be fun! Don't you think it's sad to be stuck here? Let's just hang out with us. We'll be havin' a party tonight..."

He grabs her hand, and she quickly shoves him away.

She frowns and snaps, "I'm sorry, but don't be rude."

Humiliated, that guy responds, "Tch! You Asian bitch got somethin' to say to me?!"

"If you're not going to order, please just leave," she says while walking away.

The more humiliation he gets, the more violent he becomes.

"Come on, she's not worth it, man..." the other guy says to calm him down.

With resentful eyes, he stares at Joanne creepily as if he's going to teach her a lesson.

Trying not to be bothered, Joanne goes into the kitchen. At least, she doesn't have to face some rude and aroused customers there.

-Night, Band practice, Mike's house-

"Okay, let's take a break, guys!" Peter shouts while putting down his guitar.

Val stretches her hands from playing too long.

She walks outside of the room to the balcony. She leans while seeing the night beach view. Her body is there, but her mind is somewhere else. She takes a deep breath, but who is she kidding?

The thought of Kai and the red-hair British girl is messing with her mind.

She grunts, and Peter notices that. He follows her to join the night breeze on the balcony.

"Somethin' messin' with your head?" he asks her.

She just smiles bitterly and answers, "Yeah... just a couple..."

"What is it?" he asks her while smirking.

She looks at him for a second then looks away. "Nothing..." she says while shaking her head slowly.

Suddenly Mike disturbs the calmness by saying, "I don't mean to get in the way between this, but we got a homecoming to rock,"

Peter and Val just chuckle, and they get back inside to practice.

"Let's rock this homecoming!" Peter shouts excitedly.

The band practices again until they finally stop. It's 10 pm, and Val is thinking hard on how to get home.

Peter notices that she's looking a bit lost, and decides to offer her a ride.

He throws a helmet to her and says, "Come on, I'll drive you home."

She just smiles and follows him out.

Peter looks at Val, who's only wearing a black net t-shirt and a short red skirt.

He takes his black leather jacket off and throws it at her. She quickly grabs it and stares at him confusedly.

"Put it on, you'll catch a cold," he casually says.

Val smiles and throws it back to him.

She scoffs and says, "No offense, but I don't need a man to take care of me,"

"Says a girl who needs the drive to go home," he says while smiling sarcastically.

She smiles and says, "Well, I don't need you to have any more power on me than just driving me home. So, just put on your jacket. I don't need a fake gentleman's gesture." while throwing the jacket at him again.

"Do you always... you know, push people away?" he asks her while moving closer to her.

She takes a step away from him, and confidently says, "I don't push them, they just don't get to me."

"Meh... tomato, tomahto," he teases her.

She just chuckles, and they get on the bike to drive her home. When they arrive at her place, Kai is waiting for her at the stairs near the doorstep.

He's been waiting for her, and the sound of a motorcycle makes him jump. He quickly stands up just to see that Val came home with another guy.

Val gets off, and she takes off the helmet.

"Thanks for the ride," she says with a relaxed attitude.

Peter just smiles and runs fast with his motorcycle.

Val turns around, and she sees Kai is standing there, looking at her.

"Why are you here? Is the door locked? You have our keys, right?" she asks him with concern.

Kai just stands there looking bummed, not answering to her.

She walks toward him and taps his forehead.

"You okay? Come on, let's get inside," she casually says while grabbing his shoulder.

Kai quickly gets back to his sense, and cheerily asks, "Practice ended a bit late?"

"Yeah... God, I'm so tired..." Val says while stretching her neck.

Kai quickly massages her shoulders and casually says, "Why didn't you ask me to pick you up, though? I could've just borrowed Ethan's car, hahaha!"

Val just chuckles and says, "It's late! I thought you were studying some shit."

Kai turns Val around to face her.

He firmly grabs her shoulder and says, "Next time, call me first."

"Geez, I'm fine!" Val shrugs it off while getting some food from the fridge.

Kai rolls his eyes and says, "I don't like him; he seems off..."

Val grunts and says, "Well, I don't like that red-hair British chick either."

A confusion appears in Kai's face, and he replies, "Wait, how did you know that?"

"I saw you two having a moment in front of the janitor's room, not an ideal place to have a date, you know?" she says while smiling sarcastically.

He shrugs it off, "Oh, that's not fair! She's nice!" to defend Tory.

"Well, I think Peter's also nice. Look, I can take care of my self, Kai," Val says while flicking him.

"Ouch!" he flints while rubbing his forehead.

"You wanna stay here for tonight?" she casually asks him from the second floor.

"Damn, she's fast..." he whispers to himself and shouts from the first floor, "No, I just wanted to make sure you didn't fool around with that boy! I'm going home now!"

She chuckles and shouts cheerfully, "Alright, see ya tomorrow, Jenkins!"

-Friday Night, Homecoming Football Game-

The five of them, except Beca, are going through the bleachers to find empty seats since Beca is cheering in the field.

"Well, there's not much room here..." Joanne says while looking at the narrow seats in two different rows.

"Well, it's enough for us to form a tower by sitting on each other's laps here!" Val replies while smiling sarcastically.

Caleb sits with Joanne at the upper row while Felix, Val, and Kai sit at the bottom.

Kai squints his eyes and says, "Hey, what's the score? I can't see it..."

"Still 0-0," Felix answers while staring at the game focused.

"Ehehe, I've told you to see your eye doctor," Val responds casually with eyes on the game.

Joanne leans to Val from above and says, "As a matter of fact, it's called Optometrist. Besides, Kai should just go to an optician, and he'll see better than ever with a pair of glasses."

"Ooh! you mean tomato, tomahto," Val casually answer with eyes fixed on the game.

"Dudeee, good one, Val!" Caleb, sitting beside Joanne, giggles.

Kai just sulks and says, "Why are you so focused on the game anyway. You don't even know the rules..."

Val gasps and says, "Oh, just because I'm a girl, I can't enjoy some football game?"

"No, because you literally hate sports!" Kai answers.

Val just giggles and answers, "Meeh," while lifting her shoulder.

Then, two white guys come down, passing them.

One of them looks at Joanne, and sarcastically says, "Oh, if it isn't the thin Asian with almost no chest at all?"

Val quickly yells with a disgusted look, "OH SUCK IT, YOU HORNY SEXUALIZING PRIVILEDGED BASTARD!" with her popcorn ready to slap their faces at any time.

The other guy replies, "NOBODY TALKED TO YOU, STUPID BLOND WHO PRETENDS TO BE A MOTHERFUC**NG PRINCESS!"

They quickly go down without looking back at them.

Val impulsively throws her popcorns as she needs to throw hands on them. Kai swiftly prevents her from scratching those pretty white faces while Caleb catches her popcorn that's magically flying in the air.

"OH, IMMA THROW HANDS ON THOSE MOTHERFU**ERS!!!" Val snaps.

"HEY! NO BASTARD IS WORTH THE FLYING POPCORN!" Caleb shouts to defend the food.

Kai softly taps Val's shoulder and Joanne's knees.

"They're just some stupid assholes. Don't hear them..." Kai says.

Caleb energetically adds, "Yeah! Those jerks didn't know the shit they're talking! If this popcorn didn't need to be saved, I would've already beat 'em to a pulp!" while munching on the popcorn.

Felix faces Joanne and asks her, "You okay?"

Joanne sulks and says, "Yeah, I'm fine. those stupid guys were on my science club, very annoying, stupid, racist, and misogynist rascals."

"Hey, if those assholes get on your nerves again, just hit em'!" Val yells.

"Yeah! On the nose, I said! On the nose!" Caleb shouts with an exaggerated tone.

-Girls' Bathroom-

Val walks out of the girls' bathroom after taking a pee, and she walks past the boys'. As she walks through, she hears some talking.

"That blond chick! I don't understand her! She's blond, pretty, has good bods, but dresses and speaks like a bitch! Look at her style. She looks like a punk and a goth!" some guy says.

"I know, right! The strange part is she acts tough and shits, but when she's with that group, she laughs a lot!" other replies.

"I bet she and that Kai dude have done it! Hahaha!" the first guy says.

She looks disgustedly at the wall where the voices came from.

"You can shut the hell up and come out now suckers!" she yells outside while walking further.

Both guys cautiously stick their head from inside the bathroom, and Val just gives them a middle finger without looking back at them while giggling confidently.

"You think she heard?" one guy asks, pretending not to be worried.

"You scared, man? She's just a girl..." another guy replies restlessly.

The other one stays silent for a second and scoffs. "Tch! T-totally!" he shrugs it off.

-Bleachers-

"Holy shit, our QB is going down!" Caleb shouts with worries.

The others are murmuring as they all see the quarterback is lying on the ground, enduring his pain.

He got tackled by someone from the other team.

Medics rush to the field while bringing litter and an emergency box.

The quarterback cries in pain while holding his shoulder.

The medics are about to carry him onto the litter, but he resists. He endures the pain and strongly shouts, "I'm fine!"

He struggles to stand on his feet, but he manages.

"OH YES, HE SURVIVED Y'ALL!" Caleb shouts.

The cheerleaders quickly cheered upon him with their golden pompoms to lead the rant with the whole school supporters.

He is running steadily, and the game is back on.

Beca, Stacy, and the other cheerleaders are jumping around, yelling their cheer stuff, and dancing to their routines. They give their all, just like the football team, to provide Seaside High with a prestigious trophy.

"That's my twin sister, flying in the air!!!" Caleb energetically shouts when the cheer team throws Beca to the air, and the others flawlessly catch her.

As they get intensely immersed in the game, some talk appears.

"Is it just me, but don't you feel like the cheerleaders are fatter this year?" some random guy asks.

"Yeah! Their quality is decreasing. I guess..." another boy answers.

"Tch! I'm prettier and way hotter than any of them!" a girl responds.

Val and Joanne are ready to swear on them, but Caleb does it first.

"It's cheerleading! Not a beauty pageant, you morons!" he yells to them.

"Yeah, you can just shut up rather than bringing other girls down!" Val adds while moving violently closer to them, although Kai prevents her for the hundredth time.

"If another mouthbreather appears, I'm so gonna throw hands on 'em! Val yells to Kai.

Kai just smiles and gently taps her shoulder, again.

Joanne also adds elegantly, "You guys could casually say that because you didn't make it to the team, did you? Did it make you feel better about yourselves? Hmph, pathetic."

The three mouth breathers quickly gasp and scoff with disbelieving looks.

"Tch!" they just scoff, not knowing words to refute.

Val confidently says, "Ehehe, we won..."

"No, I don't think so..." Felix mutters while referring to the game which the opposite team is winning at this point.

"OH NO, COME ON! THERE'S STILL TIME!" Caleb rants.

"NO NO NO NO NO NO AAAAAACCCKKKK!!!" Kai yells with a vocal range of a dolphin.

Will the home team of Shiny Crab from Seaside High win the game? Will they attend the homecoming dance with pride and joy as the victory tomorrow? Will they be able to boast all night long to the opposite school for being the winner?

As the night goes on, under the bright stars, they all wait for the last-minute chance to turn the table.
