Meeting New Friends

Miracle and her friends returned to the attacked town the next day making sure that people were okay. There wasn't a single cloud in the sky, making it clear that it wasn't going to rain. At least there won't be any other attack today. It was already mostly cleaned up, as people were working on fixing some of the destroyed buildings. There were a couple pieces of rubble around, but that was about it. The people there seemed to be doing just fine, but Miracle was still angry regardless. Why do you have to risk all of these people's lives just for your entertainment? She thought bitterly. We're actually living beings, who have their own emotions. Why are you so selfish?

"Hey, Miracle, you good?" Miracle flinched a little, turning around to spot Pedro.

Miracle nodded. "Yeah... I'm fine. Just a bit upset." She mumbled. What was she even supposed to do in this situation? She wasn't experienced in this, and she definitely didn't have much of a way of helping the other citizens. Miracle looked around, spotting something a little while away from her.

She walked forwards, crouching down on the ground and picking up the object. Miracle scowled a little. The feather.... Miracle stood up, continuing to hold onto the feather. She didn't really understand why she was, though. She had the slightest urge to cut it up into pieces, but whatever. Scarlet and Pedro came up next to her.

"Hey, Miracle, did you find anything?" Pedro asked.

"Yeah," Miracle lifted up the feather. "Any reason I should keep this?"

"Dunno," Pedro replied, shrugging. "Could be useful for something, I don't know."

Miracle huffed. "I really don't want to keep it though...."

"You shouldn't feel obligated to keep it." Scarlet replied. "Do whatever you want with it."

Miracle nodded, throwing it over her shoulder. There was a sudden flash of light, causing Miracle to jump and sharply turn around, drawing her sword. Scarlet and Pedro drew out their weapons as well, but they were more aimed in the middle of the group of three. "Uh...." Pedro said aloud.

Miracle blinked, before she laughed awkwardly. "Oopsie, I guess we all overacted."

Scarlet stared at the ground, sheathing her weapon. She crouched down, picking up the feather. "Hold on a moment, Miracle."

"Hm? What is it?" Miracle asked. Scarlet walked over to her, holding the feather close to her sword. It was suddenly glowing faintly, reacting to the feather. Miracle hesitated. "Holy...."

"Shit." Pedro finished. "Is that what I think it is?"

"What?" Scarlet asked. "What is it? There's no point in being so discreet about it."

"Okay fine." Pedro chuckled, crossing his arms. "Just wanted that suspense factor. I'm not sure of the details myself, I just know that swords don't tend to glow like that." Pedro tapped his arm, thinking for a moment. "Probably something magical. There's a friend of mine who may know about it."

"So, you're basically telling us you said that 'is that what I think it is' line for no reason, since you didn't know?" Scarlet raised her eyebrow. Pedro laughed nervously, neither confirming nor denying her statement. Scarlet groaned. "You're a bitch."

Pedro grinned. "Sorry about that." He turned around, towards the exit of the city. "Anyways, let's go. I want to solve this mystery as quickly as we can." Miracle nodded, putting her sword away. Scarlet handed her the feather, Miracle shoving it into her bag. The three of them exited the town, making sure they were a pretty good distance away from any other person.

"Ready?" Pedro asked.

Miracle and Scarlet nodded. "We're good to go! I don't think there's anyone around here either." Miracle smiled.

Pedro grinned. "Alrighty." He closed his eyes, focusing intently. Dark green scales started appearing on him, as he grew in size. His body shifted into a much different shape, large wings coming from his back. After a couple more seconds, Pedro's figure had been completely replaced by that of a large green dragon. He laid down on the ground. "C'mon, let's not waste any time."

Scarlet sighed. She was one to get easily motion sick in the air, but she refused to admit it. She was much more used to just running across lands, and jumping over obstacles. Miracle, however, was relatively excited. She always enjoyed the feeling of wind in her hair, and loved just how fast they went. The two of them climbed onto Pedro's back, Pedro standing up. "Hold on! Give us a second!" Miracle laughed.

Pedro huffed. "Slowpokes." There was clear playfulness in his voice.

Scarlet glared at him. "Shut up." The two females ended up just sitting right in the middle of his back, since that was probably the safest place they could be. Scarlet crossed her arms, oddly close to Miracle. Miracle laughed a little to herself.

"We're good to go, Pedro!" Miracle called out. Pedro nodded, taking off. Scarlet startled slightly, but didn't say anything. Miracle closed her eyes, taking in the wind, blowing her hair out of her face.

"It's going to take awhile, by the way!" Pedro called out. "My friend lives a long ways away from here!"

Scarlet groaned even louder than before, showing her disdain to that fact. Miracle laughed a little at her reaction, putting her hand on her shoulder. "It'll be okay, Scarlet! Just try to enjoy it!"

"Literally impossible." Scarlet growled, before hugging her stomach. Already? Miracle frowned. "I'm going to kill myself."

"Please don't." Pedro said. "I'd rather not have blood all over me."

"Deal with it." Scarlet hissed.

Miracle smiled softly to herself, looking away at the horizon. In her free time, she decided to remember how she had met the two.

Miracle had been walking through the forest, hopelessly lost, when she stumbled upon a town. Miracle has been easily welcome by some of the citizens. Ever since that accident, she had been having some issues dealing with her grief. She'd found herself hopelessly wandering the world, looking to help others so that it wouldn't be happening again.

It was there that she ended up meeting Scarlet. She was closed off and guarded, which caused Miracle to be incredibly curious. What could it be that Scarlet was so upset over? She had wondered. There was clearly something making her so angry. The first time Miracle approached her, it didn't go that well.

"Hello, Scarlet!" Miracle called out.

Scarlet looked up. "How the hell do you know my name?"

Miracle flinched. "Uh... some of the citizens told me. They told me to go check up on you."

Scarlet glared at her. "Tell them I'm fine. Don't bother me again." Miracle, not wanting to upset her anymore, turned around and left. She went and talked to the other people living there, hoping to figure out what was up. She was informed of the fact that there was someone Scarlet cared about that suddenly went missing. No one quite knows what happened, or who it was. Scarlet refused to talk about it, even with the people close to her.

Miracle was determined to get answers out of her, and continued confronting her each day. She never asked, but she was slowly developing something of a friendship. Scarlet was being less cold to her, but still kept her distance for some reason. Miracle had wondered that maybe Scarlet was scared Miracle would leave suddenly as well. The day Miracle finally confronted her was something she definitely wouldn't be forgetting.

"Scarlet, there's been a question on my mind for the longest time." Miracle started.

"Yeah, what's up?" Scarlet asked.

Miracle hesitated a moment, trying to calm herself down. "There's been talk of the reason you're so closed off from everyone." Scarlet stiffened slightly. "That someone you cared about suddenly went missing. Could you-"

"I'm not telling you anything." Scarlet quickly cut her off.

"Scarlet, please." Miracle begged her. "I want to help you, if I can."

"You couldn't understand it," Scarlet growled.

"I bet I could." Miracle retorted. "About a year ago, there was a good friend of mine. We'd been friends for a long time, but he went missing. My city was attacked, and he was just gone." Miracle stared up at the sky. "I don't have anything besides a sword left of him. I'm hoping he's alive, but..." Miracle laughed softly. "I kinda feel as if I'm just clinging at straws."

Scarlet looked at her with wide eyes, before she turned away. Miracle waited patiently for her to say something. "Sometime around two years ago...." Scarlet started. "I... also had a friend. I never really realized I cared about him until he was gone. There was a disease running rampant in our town, and I ended up contracting it." Scarlet intertwined her fingers. "I don't exactly remember what happened, but he tried his best to take care of me. We didn't have an apothecary anywhere in town, and we thought that a traveling one would never show up." Scarlet sighed. "I think one did, but after I recovered, my friend was gone."

Miracle thought for a moment, before she had a theory. "Did he... die of the disease?"

Scarlet winced. "I have no clue. But he most likely did." Scarlet covered her face with her hands. "I just... I regret never appreciating him as a friend. I was always pushing him away, but he just kept being so pushy that I guess I warmed up to him."

Miracle nodded, placing her hand on her shoulder. "I can understand that feeling. After I lost my friend, I've been exploring all over the place to see if I can help other people not experience what I went through."

Scarlet paused for a moment. "Can I... join you?"

Miracle widened her eyes in surprise, turning to face Scarlet. "Really? You want to come with me?"

Scarlet had a hint of a smile on her face. "Sure. I can consider you a friend."

Miracle smiled. "That's great!"

It wasn't too long when the two of them got a job to deal with a threat on the top of a mountain. It was there they ended up finding Pedro. Miracle and Scarlet had come across a small group of about four dragons. The two of them seemed nervous, having never fought a dragon in their life. "Is this guy serious? Telling us to two versus four dragons?"

Scarlet let her head hit the rock in front of her. "This is going to be a headache...."

"Wait a minute." Miracle said. "Look." Scarlet lifted her head up, as the two stared over.

A guy with green hair just casually walked into the cave. Miracle and Scarlet stared in his direction with wide eyes. "Does that guy have a death wish?" Scarlet asked, frowning and leaping over the rocks.

"Scarlet!" Miracle went over the rocks as well. "Careful!" The two ran into the cave after the stranger, hoping to save him if they could. The green haired stranger called out.

"I'm back!" He said cheerily.

"Big Bro!" One of the dragons suddenly shifted into that of a human form, running up to the green haired boy and giving him a hug. "Did you have any luck?"

The boy sighed. "No, unfortunately not. I couldn't find any of the rest of your sisters today...."

"That's quite unfortunate." Says another one of the dragons that had turned into a human. "Alice owes me twenty gold coins."

The boy laughed. "You're still caught up on that? That was a year ago!"

"She's had plenty of time to give it back, but no." She huffed. "I swear, the next time she asks for money to get cake, I will punch her in the face."

"Please don't do that...." Said one of the other dragons. Miracle and Scarlet watched, rather confused. They definitely hadn't expected this. Miracle glanced at Scarlet, her face asking her what to do. Scarlet shook her head, slowly turning towards the exit. Miracle clearly knew what it was Scarlet wanted to do, and Miracle didn't argue. They wanted to leave. They couldn't keep going with this job. The two began heading to the exit.

"Wait a minute." The boy spoke up. "Someone's here." There was suddenly silence, and a large amount of bloodlust in the room. Miracle grimaced, before she grabbed Scarlet's hand and dragged them out in the open.

"Miracle- what- are you insane?!" Scarlet shouted.

"Shush." Miracle let go of her hand, putting both her hands in the air. "I'm sorry for intruding, we do not mean any harm to you. We got caught in a situation, and we were just about to leave."

The feel of the room immediately changed, the green haired boy letting out a relieved sigh. "Oh thank God, I thought you'd come and take the rest of my sisters away."

Miracle was shocked at that statement. "No! I would never! Who would do something like that?"

The boy hesitated for a moment. "Creatures like us are... rare to say the least. People are interested in our materialistic value, and I can assume you can guess from there." He sighed. "Anyways, my name's Pedro. Who are you two?"

"Pedro!" One of the girls said. "You can't just give out personal information like that!"

"They don't seem like the type to try and hurt us." Pedro admitted. "Plus, if they were, I can probably do something."

Miracle sighed. "I promise, we're not going to try anything. My name's Miracle, and that's Scarlet. We're adventurers who were originally on a job, but we're quitting it now."

Pedro stiffened a little. "I'm guessing that job was to kill us?"

"You know about that?" Scarlet asked.

Pedro nodded. "Heard about it while I was in town. I've got a pretty convincing human form, at least."

Miracle smiled at him. "Well, we're sorry about this. We promise we won't tell anyone about your whereabouts. We'll be heading out now." Miracle turned around, Scarlet following behind her. "Where do we go next? We can't just go back there, the person who assigned the job will be pissed."

"We'll just have to go somewhere else. Let them think we just went and got killed." Scarlet said back.

"Wait!" Pedro called out to them. Miracle and Scarlet turned around.

"Yeah, what is it?" Miracle asked, a little worried.

"Can I...." Pedro paused for a moment. "Can I come with you?"

Miracle's eyes widened. "Uh, how come?"

Pedro glanced at the other dragon people behind him. "Well, you heard how some of my sisters were missing, right?"

Miracle and Scarlet nodded. "We did."

"You two seem to travel a lot, and do a lot of things and meet a lot of people." Pedro concluded. "So, if I come with you, I might have an easier time trying to find them. If you would have me, at least."

Miracle thought for a moment, before she smiled and nodded. "Sure! We could always use more people!"

Pedro smiled, turning back to the people in the cave. "Liiva, you're in charge!"

Liiva grinned. "We won't miss you."

Pedro snorted. "Bet."

Miracle laughed. "C'mon, why don't you all say goodbye to your brother?"

The four in the cave waved at the group. 'Good luck!'s and 'Be safe!'s and 'See you soon!'s were thrown out as the group of three left the cave. It was then the trio was created, as they became the closest of friends.

"We're here!" Miracle was snapped back into reality, when Pedro landed. Miracle and Scarlet got off, and Pedro shifted back into himself. He stretched slightly, and turned to the building he had landed in front of. "Scarlet, you good?"

"I'm..." Scarlet covered her mouth a little. "I'm fine."

Miracle patted her on the back. "It's okay...."

Pedro looked at the two, before he looked back at the door. "Are you two okay with me knocking on the door?"

Miracle nodded. "Go ahead."

Pedro approached the door, knocking on it three times. They waited for a minute, with no answer. Pedro furrowed his eyebrows. "Odd. She doesn't typically leave her house." Pedro knocked again, with no answer. Pedro was just about to turn around and leave, when the door suddenly burst open, smoke pouring out.

A blonde woman was coughing violently, and she waved the smoke out of her face. She wore a blank tank top, with baggy gray pants. She had a pair of goggles on the top of her head, showing that she had an eye color that resembled a dark purple. "Oh, fuckin' piece of shit!" She shouted. "Ugh, sorry 'bout the wait, some invention of mine was being a little bitch and decided to explode on me." The woman rubbed her temple, finally realizing who was in front of her. "Oh! Avocado fucker! You finally come to realize that you need me to be a good partner to you?"

"Victoria, now's not the time." Pedro sighed. "I've got something I need you to look at."

Victoria snorted. "What is it, you need a sexuality check? Trust me, I can tell you're-" Victoria cut herself off, finally noticing the other people. Whatever she was going to say, she probably didn't want other people to hear. She huffed, crossing her arms. "And how many times have I told you, you can just call me Vicky." Miracle walked up, and stuck her hand out.

"Hello! I'm Miracle, nice to meet you, Victoria!"

Victoria huffed. "And who the fuck are you supposed to be? Some random bitch who's trying to-"

"Vicky, enough." Pedro stated. "Stop being such a bitch and help us."

Victoria let out a high pitched squeal, flinching. "I-I-I, um, o-okay, fine!" Victoria turned around. "Come on in. Don't mind the smoke, or mess." The group of three entered in after Victoria, seeing paper and other such things scattered about. Miracle clumsily navigated through, and Victoria led the group to a slightly less messy spot. She pulled up some chairs, and sat down. "Alright, what is it? Mr. Avocado doesn't typically come over here unless he needs something from me."

Miracle paused for a moment, before she drew her sword.

Victoria narrowed her eyes. "Oh, so it's going to be like that? Well, I'll tell you that it won't work! I know how to fight off attackers!"

Miracle flinched. "N-No! It's nothing like that!" Miracle pulled out the feather from beforehand, and brought it close to the metal of the blade. The sword glowed softly, reacting to the feather once again. Victoria's eyes widened, as she stared at the blade.

"Holy shit." She admitted. "Hold on, can you try to hand me that?" Victoria held her hands out, as Miracle dropped the sword in her hands. She immediately dropped to the floor with a yelp. Victoria, however, had a large grin on her face. "Oh fuck it is!" She slid her hands out from under the sword, a bright smile on her face.

"What?" Miracle asked, a smile on her face as well. "What is it?"

Victoria grinned. "That's the God Slaying Sword!"

"What?!" The three in the room shouted.

Victoria laughed. "Haha, fuckin' idiots! Doesn't even know what the sword is!" Victoria crossed her arms. "It's exactly as it sounds! That sword can kill a god!"

"Seriously?" Scarlet asked. "Really? It can do that?"

Victoria nodded. "Yup! I never thought I'd see it, but I guess I did!" Miracle picked it up off the floor. "I don't exactly remember how it works, though. The wizard should help you figure that out!"

"Wizard?" Miracle repeated.

"Yeah, bitch." Victoria replied. "Stop repeating all of the words I say! I understand I'm a genius, but seriously!" Victoria walked over to a table, taking a piece of paper off of it. "Here, take this. It's a map to that person's house. Show her the sword, she'll probably know what to do." Victoria winked. "She'll get you to heaven, to go kill God."

Miracle blinked. "Wow, really? Then, I can save people from getting attacked."

Victoria nodded. "Exactly! That fucker deserves to die, and now we've got someone who can get rid of him!"

"Wait a minute," Pedro said. "You said something about 'gods'. Are there more than one?"

Victoria thought for a moment. "I think so, I don't remember exactly." Victoria shrugged. "Whatever! You fuckers need to get going now! You shouldn't be wasting any more time!" Victoria started pushing them out of her house. "Get going, bitches! No time like the present!" She pushed them out her door, waving at them. "Good luck, fuckin' idiots!" And she slammed the door.

The three stood there, a little frazzled. "Well, that was quick." Miracle finally said.

"Yeah, she's like that." Pedro admitted. He walked over to Miracle, taking the map from her. "Oh, okay. I know where this is." Pedro stretched slightly, handing the map back to Miracle. "Alright, ready for round two?"

"No." Scarlet admitted. "But, I won't complain. The closer we get to getting rid of God, the better I'll feel." Miracle nodded.

"Right! Let's do this!"

~~~~~~~
Victoria sighed, sliding down her door and to the ground. The God Slayer, huh? She smiled. I've got to tell the others. Victoria leaned forwards slightly, crouched on the ground. She steadied herself with her other hand, drawing a small pentagram on the ground. She finished off the symbol with a circle, and grinned as the portal opened up. She dropped through, landing on the ground. Welcome to Hell. She thought to herself with a grin. She looked around, trying to spot anyone she recognized. "Hey! Mewmew!"
The man she'd called out to lifted his head, sighing. His actual name was Bartholowmew. He had dark hair, a little bit tied up into a small ponytail. He wore something of a dark green robe, a small light blue cloak draped over his shoulders. He had amber eyes that were looking angrily at Victoria. "Vicky, how many times have I told you not to call me Mewme-"
"Yeah yeah, whatever!" Victoria waved him off. "Do you know where Harper is?"
At that moment, a woman walked around the corner. "Yes, what is it?" Harper asked. She had curly dark brown hair. She was wearing armor that she could move around in easily, also having a white collared shirt underneath. There were multiple red ribbons all throughout her clothes, matching the red color of her eyes. "Do you need me for something?"
"No, but I'm glad I found you two quickly!" Victoria grinned. "Guess who I found?"
"Who?" Harper asked.
"I found the God Slayer!" The two froze, surprise all over their faces. "I know, I know, I'm incredible! No need to thank me!"
Harper hesitated a moment, before she nodded. "Right. Are they coming for me?"
"Nah, they're after the gremlin in Heaven." Victoria replied. "He's been doing some weird shit recently."
"Hm, this is quite interesting." Bartholomew mused. "Who are they?"
"Their name is Miracle." Victoria replied. "She doesn't seem like much, but I don't know. We can come out now, since God can't fuck us up anymore! With the God Slayer on our side, we won't be in any danger."
Harper paused for a moment. "I guess so."
"Something wrong, Harper?" Bartholomew asked. "You seem uneasy."
Harper shook her head. "No, I'm fine. Let's help the God Slayer. Let's fix this up."
