Pushing the angel away from him, Adam was about to turn back to his father when he felt a push back from the redheaded angel. Both men continued to push one another and before he knew it, they had their swords out and were fighting. The sound of items breaking or falling were deafened in their ears, until another sword came into play.
Michael had stopped them and as their heightened level need to attack trickled down, the door was pushed open as his father greeted his missing brother.
Standing before him, Adam could see the light robe he was wearing instead of the thick one he normally did. The kind angel's green eyes look at the female questioningly before he looked at him. Pursing his lips, he was about to speak, but his father chose to continue.
"Gabriel, the demon Eve had taken you from Heaven," He spoke with his eyes sharpening, "You were absent during the battle between your brothers and Samael. I assume she had kept you to do something for her. What was it, son?"
"Father," the brunette nodded, "She did take me from the Atonement chambers, but she did not ask me to do anything," he paused for a moment, "I returned of my own free will."
There was a silence before his green eyes looked back at the woman.
"Hello sister," he greeted with a smile, "I apologize for staring, but… you certainly look like someone I know."
The female smiled and said, "Father named me Eve. I am created for Adam."
Eyes widened, he blinked at his father who stared back motionless.
"Ah," the kind angel did not know what to say to that. It was absurd and-
"You are not Eve and I do not want you."
'Oh, wasn't that a bit harsh brother?' Gabriel found himself wincing a bit from the brutal honesty in the blonde's voice.
"Adam," the tone of their father's was stern, but the anger emitting from the wingless angel did not ease.
"I don't care for your reasons Father. I do not want her nor will I ever want her."
"Gabriel," God decided to change the subject to ignore Adam throwing a tantrum, "Show us that there was nothing she wanted you to do. Metatron's pool will reveal all."
"Do you not trust my words anymore?" Gabriel wondered aloud.
Since the day he was created, he had always been honest, kind, and loyal. Beloved by both his siblings and humans, there had never been anyone questioning his words. He had never lied in his life, not even when Lucifer had wanted him to. To hear that he needed to reveal all… he wasn't sure if he wanted to.
He would reveal the cavern that was the safety that held them together. He would reveal that he had helped Lucifer again to recover. He would reveal Eve was alive and breathing. He would reveal that child… the spirit that combined with the heart of fire. A stickling part in the back of his mind was telling him to not reveal it. His father would use the knowledge and counterstrike against Hell and diminish it, rework it to something new.
So many demons had perished and were unable to be reborn. Their souls trapped forever without a body to carry it. If his father knew this, he was certain He would use the chance to thwart Lucifer and Eve. God would not blink, as they break through to destroy and make his former brother bend his knees before him. For many centuries, His father never forgave his former brother for the actions that was taken.
Lucifer broke their father's heart.
"Brother," he turned his head to face blue eyes, "Do you know… if she is alive? Is she okay?"
Adam, Eve's lover and soulmate. Should he tell him that his woman was alive, breathing, but hurting? Should he tell the blond that their love was far too complicated now that they were on opposite sides? Should he tell the young angel that the female demon had cried in his arms for a love she thought was over?
"Gabriel," his father shook him out of his thoughts, "Proceed."
Swallowing down his nerves, he headed over to his brother, the scribe for all living creatures. The liquid blue of the water stared back at him, as if to taunt him to reveal the secrets. To show and lay out everything so they could control it, manipulate it to their own use. Mentally shaking his head, he should not think of those things. His father was good; his brothers were good.
Fingers dipped into the water and it shot up into the air. Fanning before them in streams, an image appeared.
"What are you doing here?" Gabriel heard his own voice asked as the view of Eve appeared before him.
The next thing they saw was darkness before water filled the vision. The audience watched as the picture came closer and closer to surface. Coughs were heard before the view landed on the demon once more.
"What are you doing? What do you want?" The angel questioned.
"If you leave, I will kill your brothers," Eve stated as her face was clear in the water projection, "and your father."
They watched the female demon walk away and disappeared from view. The rest only showed Gabriel by the fire, warming up his skin. Nothing else, until he finally left the cave after some time had passed. The water returned to the bowl and the truthful angel removed his fingers. Looking at his father, the man searched his face before nodding.
"She spared you," He stated aloud, "Perhaps as a thank you for saving her."
Gabriel didn't reply. What was he supposed to say? He wasn't sure either until he found Lucifer... How did… how did his memories show something else instead of what truly occurred? Did Eve do something to hide the truth?
"Very well," his father continued, "Many of my children are healing, so you all take rest as well. I shall think of how to proceed with this change. Mankind also need healing. I can hear their prayers."
They were all excused out of the room, leaving their father alone to His thoughts.
"Gabriel," Adam spoke up when the doors were closed, "Let us talk."
