Chapter 6: A Living Thunder

"OH NOOO!!" as I reached the school gates I felt a rumbling approaching. As it grew louder, I began running for it. My lazy legs struggling to pick up pace until it was too late. A road demon rammed into me at light speed, both of us stumbling into the ground. As I stood up, I turn to see this "demon". Who my eyes met was Ray. My face heating, I rocket unto my feet. Her eyes finding mine, she jumps back to her feet. Her golden eyes brandishing a carefree glow.

"Good Morning, see you later 'kay," her voice rushing as she ran off towards the baseball court. Seeing her run away reminded me of yesterday. The image of her running off in a rush. Then my heart raced, remembering my thoughts yesterday.

"I want to know her" My hands flying to my head, as I sighed in relief I didn't say those words. Regardless, those words now echoed in my head.

"I can't believe I'm doing this," pre-emptive regret filled my head as my feet moved. Possessed by the urge to know her, I go to the court. The court arriving at my sight, I hide behind the bushes. The female baseball team had begun practice.

"I don't want to avoid eye contact" My fear speaking as I watched from afar. From there I saw Ray. Her flowing brown hair tied into a pony, as she concealed it with her helmet. Bothered by the thought, I continue to watch. In no time, the team's pure white uniforms stained in dirt.

"That hurts," the thought entered my head as I saw her slide through the field. I lost track of time as I continued to watch her train. Picking up her bat, she began swinging at the ball's as they flew her way. Each swing slicing the air before roaring into the sky.

"Beautiful..." I couldn't bring myself to stop watching. Every time she swung her bat, her eyes burned. As if a fire broke free from within their golden depths. *RIIIING* plowing through my thoughts, the school bell rang. Its loud roar pumping my heart at 57 beats per nanosecond. Sweat swamped my skin, my arms turning transparent in fear. Running with everything I could, I lose track of my surroundings. Fresh cuts birthed in my arms as I ran into the branches.

Reaching the entrance, I see the P. E teacher standing guard. "Hey" his rough, scratchy voice grinding against my ears as he stood. Pulling his white hair back, he struggled to get his engine going. "Thank god he is old" I sang inside me as I then attempted to run. But I couldn't bring myself to run past him.

"Hey, you are that deaf kid" He mumbled as he came closer. His feet dragging behind his walking stick. After seeing him struggle just to walk up to me, I lost the will to run for it. Avoiding as much contact as possible, I walk with him to the principal's office. After being told off by the principal, I returned to my daily routine. Avoiding any attention or contact of the fiends in the classroom.

"Are you sure about this," Jishi's voice worried about this plan. But this is practically flawless. Giving him a thumbs up, he shrugs, looks at me with tiresome eyes. As if telling me, not my fault whatever happens. So looking down from Jishi's shoulders, I see the school pool. Then I look around me, the roof of the 5 story school building.

"Yeah rather not" I quickly spell with my hands as Jishi let out a sigh of relief. Jumping off his shoulders, I piece together a better plan.

"How about we just do the thing where I sneak you under my jacket?" My thoughts interrupted by Jishi's question. Considering it for a second, I notice Jishi's roaring laughter. Which he unsuccessfully tried to keep. This brought back a forbidden memory.

Last time we tried that, people would poke at me for fun. I was hiding under Jishi's jacket are back to each other. But I never want to repeat that again. "You let out quite the noises" Jishi's addition makes me question why I trust him again. As I glared daggers at Jishi, the door to the rooftop slammed open. I jumped back and covered my face with my arms. The colors around me dampening. My breath breaking as cold sweat drools down my pores. My eyes shaking as if my vision was about to break.

"Finally... found you" heavy panting caressed my implants. Looking up, I see flowing brown hair dance to the breeze. Accompanied by the waters of golden ponds that stared at me. Drawing me into them, as if I were to drown in them.

"Ray" I thought, sighing in relief. Jumping back to my feet, I put on a smile as I wave hello. Rushing in, she grabs my hand, dragging me back to a dampened panorama. "Yata lets hang out a bit I have like 5 mins before practice" her request circling my head in doubt and confusion. Then, just like any old rag doll, she began dragging me through the stairs. I looked at Jishi, who stood in confusion before kicking back in gear.

"HOLD UP" Jishi roared as he chased after Ray. Ray and Jishi bumped up to light speed. This while I still question how I'm alive.
