Chapter VI - Vigilance

many eyes

lurk in the shadows

of the mind,

many voices

that leech onto yours.

many whispers

tread through your mind,

leaving their mark

like footsteps in sand..

and it is in your hands,

to stir up a storm,

or welcome new guests.

you've been given

all you may ever need,

it's already within you-

because the Creator

knows His masterpiece...

you are finely crafted,

in every little way;

let no person

ever take that away

from you.

it is your vocation,

to find all that resonates

not only with your will,

but also with His,

to find all that you may be.

many thorns

stand in your way,

a test of faith, if you will.

many have strayed

trying to carve

their own way

through the wilderness;

many have become

blackened voids,

empty of love and empathy...

their hearts turn to stone,

their fingers hold many strings-

a master of puppets

among the naive.

they've sharpened

their words

with ill intentions,

they put innocent

dreams at the end of a hook;

they lure in the unwary,

to spread their darkness.

they are the ones

torn apart

by their own sense of self,

by the ego they

hold up so high

as to raise a flag...

and if only you'd notice

how the banners wave red,

every time you think

you've found

the right one

instead.

So many fallen,

lulled by sharp tongues

and soft carresses,

promises and fantasies

of high thrills and

peaceful days

yet you must learn

to fend for yourself

and remember;

your anxiety

never lies.

Blessed are the eyes

that are not fooled

by the heart,

by the many

good intentions

that build your soul,

by the many dreams

you wish would come true-

you seek to share

a life with someone,

to be understood in

every little way possible-

your kindness

leaves you aching,

lonely,

but you must remember...

you are not evil.

Learn to breathe,

to take a step back

and observe,

learn to hesitate.

learn to judge.

you have all the time

in the world;

choose not to make

it fall apart.

find the breath of reason.

find your vibe.

do not settle for less.

the only way,

is to know yourself.

to be whole,

before seeking

wholeness in another.

you are perfect.

and you need not

another,

to be.

... nor to be perfect.
