Chapter 4

LongWei looked at the other dragons, pride slowly filling him inside. He allowed it to grow to the point where he felt confident.

Every day, every night, LongWei scoured the surroundings before going on his mini-adventures seeing what the world has in-store for him. During his reign he struggled to keep many of the other dragons under control, he often wondered if they were plotting anything. Three particularly ruthless dragons were the main cause of his struggles as they were constantly trying to over-power his authority. LongWei had to, on several occasions, breathe out fire to stop the three ruthless ones. He soon found out though that the fire power was not under his control, especially when he suddenly couldn't puff out a single spark.

At night, when he meditates he gets visions about Feng Huang (鳳凰). Each time he saw it, his connection became stronger as well as also being familiar. He later discovered that his connection with Feng Huang (鳳凰) was stronger and familiar than he realised.

LongWei's entire structural form is different from any of the other dragons. His ice power draws in from his wings; it absorbs the moisture from the air. Then it gets directed to the tail along the inner membrane of his skin. However his fire power comes from the pit of his stomach, it passes through his qi that allows him to ignite it.

Typically, a dragon only has one gift from birth. They either have fire or ice. However, on the very rare occasion, there are dragons that can shoot ice during their adolescent stage then as they become stronger they also are able to breathe fire. LongWei was the first of it's kind to have both of these powers. It wasn't until he started practicing that he noticed something off. He thought something was wrong with him and worried that he could no longer use his fire on demand. This was when Feng Huang (鳳凰) first connected with him through telepathy.

"LongWei! Your fire power remains in my control until the time comes. Meaning I have temporarily blocked your access." 鳳凰 explained.

"What is that supposed to mean?" LongWei asked aggressively, "Who or what are you to me?" He added.

"You once knew me, a long time ago.. I am FengGe, your brother reincarnated. One day we shall meet once more and be reconnected to rule as gods," FengGe spoke, reciting part of a prophecy he heard once.

"Yes I have heard about that prophecy. The one where we battle, but only one of us will be able to reign over all the realms," LongWei added remembering what he was told.

"That is false! We will both reign over all the realms equally," FengGe corrected him.

"That's what my mentor told me. This happened when I saw less and less of you until you passed-away," LongWei yelled back, balling his fists.

"Well your mentor isn't here. I am your brother, I speak the truth and I am here for you now. Don't shut me out like you did when we were mortal. It had made me worry too much for you," FengGe admitted.

LongWei pondered over what his brother said long after FengGe disconnected. He could still feel FengGe still lurking nearby. Whilst he was still pondering, the ruthless trio crashed into his lair. They were coming in from all angles, LongWei fought them off. At one point he thought he was going to lose the fight, but he persevered, eventually using his ice power to defeat them.

LongWei realised this was just the beginning and that he knew there would be more just like them turning against him. He needed to get stronger.

One hundred years has passed, LongWei has gotten stronger with only a few battle scars. Out of the blue, FengGe reconnected with LongWei once again.
