Death of King Hugo

We both reached the castle on our horses. It was a beautifully structured castle made up of white marbles. It consisted of 3 buildings, two small ones where all the mistresses, servants, and cadets resided. And the fabulous looking main building where lived the king, warriors and king's family. We got off from our respective horses and crossed the footpath which led to the entrance hall of the main building of the castle. There was an intense fright present in the castle.

We could see Queen Josephine sitting outside her room which was about 20 meters from the hall. Her face was as red as a tomato. Fear and pain were visible on her face. Several mistresses tried to calm her but she was so out of control for the loss of her husband that she couldn't stop crying. I felt bad to see her in such condition but since I had to meet my father, I did not interrupt. We took the stairs to the right of the entrance hall, and on the second floor, I saw my father standing near the first room with his hands at the back. He stood rigid with a glimpse of aggression on his circular face. His tall figure was trembling with fear and grief with sweat coming from his husky body. His way of conducting his body showed that King's murder left a severe impact on him.

"Come inside, Juan," he said pointing towards the room. Musif leren then shook hands with both of us and disappeared. The room was of a prodigious look with navy blue curtains which gave the room a more royal look. The bed was placed near the window-side, where we both sat.

" What just happened, father? I asked.

"Something even I am not sure of," replied the father.

"This morning, king Hugo found a star-shaped blade laying on his bed with letters "JFST" inscribed on it. He asked everyone in the kingdom how did it end up on his bed but no one had any clue. So, he threw it out from his window. And just now he is found dead in his room. with no signs of violence except a mark of the blade on his neck"

"Oh Jesus! so you think that the blade found on his bed is related to his death.

"Indeed, I do."

"But who could have committed such a sin?

"It could be anyone but its more likely to be someone from the castle itself because it is nearly impossible to enter the castle without getting noticed by our elite guards."

" Was anyone in particular supposed to meet King Hugo?"

" I've checked guard's register and it shows no outsider entered the Castle around the time he was killed. Some merchants had a meeting with the King in the morning but they all returned five hours before his death. And Hugo was with the Queen after they left. So I don't believe there was any outsider involved."

"We can still trace the mark of blade present on Hugo's neck to find the culprit," I suggested.

"I also thought about that but the mark of the blade on his neck is so petite that it is nearly impossible to trace it."

"What! that is strange."

"I know, I could have shown you the body but it has been taken to the health care centre for further inquiry. But anyway Juan, you are required to stay in the castle since you are a part of the army and it is the sole duty of a warrior to serve his kingdom during the toughest times. You will be staying here until Prince Tisdalle ascends the throne.

"Of course, I understand father," I answered. After the conversation with my father, one of the mistresses showed me my room where I stayed for two days.
