Ascending of throne

On the third day, the coronation took place. Most of the city was present in the main hall of the castle to witness ascending of the throne The hall was big enough to fit 2800 people. It was built in a plain greek style that used tall thin columns with decorations at the top. I was sitting in the second row with Rupert and Isabel.

"This past week has been of real trouble, borders of the kingdom are closed. I would not earn much this month as I am unable to travel to Oasmont city to trade fruits.", said Rupert.

"They are even inquiring in every house. Yesterday, people from the castle came to our house and asked some interrogating questions. They were extremely rude to my father and gave several threats to us. In some huts they even got violent," said Isabel.

"I do understand your point, Isabel, but it is a matter of the death of the great King Hugo, they have to be on their tough side to find the culprit. They were serving the kingdom," I replied.

"But they still can't find the culprit, who could it be?" asked Isabel.

"Maybe it is his own son, Tisdale. He might have done it to become the King. In which he succeeded," remarked Rupert.

"I disagree with you Rupert, Tisdale was to become the king next year also he is the only son of the king, his two elder brothers died in a war ," I answered.

Within the next fifteen minutes, Prince Tisdale entered the stage with his mother Queen Josephine, and sister Princess Lauren by his side. I could tell by their faces that they were terrified by King's death. Especially Queen Josephine whose face was pale and eyes swollen, which can only mean that she cried for several hours. Prince Tisdale and Princess Lauren also looked sad about the tragedy but were in a better condition than their mother.

Prince Tisdale walked towards the priest with his mother by his side. "Heil King Tisdale" announced the priest as he crowned the new King of the Levander city. The crowd applauded as he approached the dice for his speech," This past week has proved to be a dark time for our city. My father got murdered, we have no clue of the culprit, but we would try our best and I guarantee you that whenever we find the culprit I would behead him in front of the entire kingdom. I pledge to live up to my father's expectations and bring glory to the Kingdom. May his soul rest in peace. Thank you."

A tear trickled down his cheek as he finished his speech. After the coronation, I went back to my small hut to gather my clothes, armour, sword, and bow and arrow as I was to shift to the castle permanently.
