Injustice with the Shakara tribe

" Long time ago, Levander city was known to be a city that survived due to the cooperation of the Livan community and the Shakara tribe. Shakara tribe was muscular and stronger than the Livan community. Hugo had nothing but hatred towards the tribe due to their ugly, monstrous body structure. He believed that their culture and lifestyle was ruining the prestige of the Levander kingdom. He was always complaining about how Livan community needs to be preserved and the crossbreed of Livan and Shakara community are taking mankind backwards.

As he got crowned the king 21 years ago, he started to kill people of the Shakara tribe in a tremendous amount. Hugo showed no mercy towards them. He burnt their huts, tortured, and murdered them. Even the people of his army who belonged to the Shakara tribe were killed. At that time, I was a junior at the Levander army. I did not find, Hugo's methods correct, but due to my true beliefs in the philosophy of serving the king. I committed the crime and killed lots of them. I convinced myself that King can never be wrong and I put my mind towards the virtuous things done by Hugo. But deep down I knew he was wrong.

Since the kingdom was in a rivalry with the Trekin kingdom, and the resources were limited. Hugo threw the remaining Shakaras in the forbidden forest far off the city just for the wild animals to kill them. After that several, people of the Livan tribe who were friends with the Shakaras tried to protest against the king. King Hugo executed all the protesters and passed a new policy that no one is allowed to talk about the Shakara tribe. Otherwise, he/she will be granted a death sentence. Due to silence over the topic, you two are unaware of the Shakara tribe, said, my father.

" Maybe the Shakaras are back to take revenge for the sufferings they had to go through," said Musif.

After listening to my father, I was speechless. I could not move for a minute but then realized that my father was waiting for a reaction. I gathered my consciousness and said," how could you do that? You always taught me moral values, and that the king provides justice to everyone so, we need to be loyal to it. But answer me, in what sense did it provide justice to the Shakara tribe."

" Son, I know what I did was wrong and regret it even to this day. So I decided from now on I would never repeat the brutality again. That is why I taught you moral values from day one."

"If you genuinely understood your mistake then, why didn't, you leave the military?"

"Look, Juan, you don't know the entire story. Hugo and I were like brothers. He did good deeds as well as helping poor people financially and abolishing Begar."

"Father, nothing could justify, the crime he committed."

"I know son, I am sorry I disappointed you."

"What sorry? You are telling me the King, I worshipped was a mass murderer. And to top it all, you out of all people, my own father was that too! Oh no my life was a lie," I shouted with agony as all my beliefs about the goodness of Levander, turned out to be a fraud.

My face got red, I was breathing heavily. I was incompetent to calm my soul. They all tried to soothe me but it was of no use. My father patted my back and made me sit on the chair and said," Son, just because the past was dark doesn't mean the future can't be bright. We will find a solution, I promise."

After the conversation, we all brought back the people of the castle from the camps. As the news of Tisdale's death spread, everyone got shocked and terrorized more than before. Queen Josephine was still unable to move or say anything, Musif did try to calm her down, but all the attempts failed. For dinner, Roderick and I went to my father's room where Musif leren was also present. At this point, I had recovered myself from the dark blunder of my father with the help of Roderick's inspirational talk and silly humour. We all sat on the floor and were eating the french salad.

"So the Shakaras killed Hugo and Tisdale because of the injustice done to them in the past. But we still do not know how they did it ?" Stated Roderick.

"And what they will do next," Musif added.

"Maybe we can go back to the forbidden forest tomorrow and apologize for the sufferings they had to go through in the past. And bring them back to the city," I said.

"No, I don't think if that is a good idea. They most likely shifted from there at this point," said Musif

."I disagree Musif, I think Juan is correct we should go to the forbidden forest. Even if they shifted, we will try to find them. This is the most sensible thing to do in this situation," said my father.

"Alright, then tomorrow it is," I said.

We then made plans to make things right for the Shakara tribe the next morning. But what happened next morning was so scary that I have no words to explain.
