Tacky White Car to the Rescue!

"Y-you!" Hearing such words all of a sudden, Maya was speechless. She avoided Aiden's gaze as she took out the phone she had just kept in. "Let me call my driver and inform him that I won't be coming with him…"

She called him and waited for him to answer. While doing so, Maya looked at Aiden with fake anger and told him, "Last time at the hospital when you took me out, I had totally forgotten to tell him about it. Poor him… He had waited the entire night in the hospital parking! When I returned to the hotel, only god knows how much embarrassed I was when the receptionist asked me about it!" 

Aiden scoffed, "What can I say… Haha I'm literally feeling jealous right now! You care about the driver more than someone who has been waiting for you out in the cold weather since so long!" He started the car. "So, where do you want to go?" 

The driver had picked up his phone, Maya talked to him regarding her leaving the place with someone else, he did not make any fuss out of it and just replied with, "Yes sure Miss Maya."

As the call ended, Maya answered Aiden's question, "How would I know? Although I have come to the Capital several times, most of the times the reasons had been work related or some shopping with Sofia. Apart from them, I don't know about anything else here."

"Umm… Then how about we-"

*Ring*

Aiden was about to name the place he had decided for their dinner, when Maya's phone rang.

"Ugh! Whyy?" Aiden frowned in his head as he asked Maya, "Who is it?" Every time he wanted to do something, this dumb phone would ring!

Maya didn't answer him and directly picked up her phone with a smile, "Yes Sofia?... So how was it?" Once her little sister came in the scene, everyone else was invisible in Maya's eyes. 

"Oh really? That's nice, what are you going to do now?" 

Aiden also kept on listening to their conversation. He was badly hoping that Sofia could make a wild guess and not hinder their 'date'.

Unfortunately, that was not the case... as soon as Maya heard that Sofia was in a bad mood because of Samartha, she immediately guessed why Sofia had called her.

She knew that Sofia won't be willing to travel with her mother anymore and was indirectly asking for her to pick her up. Maya worriedly asked her, "Where are you? I will come and pick you up."

"Whom are you with?" Sofia asked her back. It was not as if she could not take a taxi or something, but it was just that she was aware that a lot of people here had their eyes on her family. If they got to know about this, it could be very embarrassing for her father. 

When Sofia asked Maya about whom she was with, Aiden's ears were glued on hearing what Maya's response could be… "What will she consider me as!?" He thought to himself. 

Sadly Maya had not thought about this, she replied to Sofia in a very casual way, "Oh you don't need to worry about that! I'm just with a friend." Then she looked at Aiden who was sitting with a blank face, "Can you drive to the City Auction House? Sofia must be somewhere around there."

Aiden nodded, he had expected this outcome already. "Yes sure."

Sofia was standing with her friends some distance away from the entrance of the Auction House. All of them were gossiping about something or the other but, their main topic of conversation was making fun of Hanna. As the second party in concern, Sofia had no interest in this as she watched her father's car leave with her mother sitting inside as well. 

Suddenly everyone's eyes turned towards Sofia.

-"Hey Sofia, isn't that your family's car?"

-"Did something happen?"

-"Do you need us to drop you off somewhere?" -"Did you get in a fight again?"

Some of them looked at her with mocking gazes, while Sofia's friend asked her with true concern.

It was not a secret in school, although Mrs. Parker always provided a lot of money for her younger daughter and paid no attention to her elder daughter Maya, Sofia never got any recognition from her father.

Mr. Parker had always been more focused on Maya's career and unconsciously disregarded Sofia. Seeing the situation now, her friends made some guesses and thought that again Sofia and Mr. Parker might have gotten into some quarrel.

"Umm no, no need…" Sofia was about to tell them that her sister was coming to pick her up when all of a sudden, a white SUV stopped in front of them. Liam's head popped out as he said, "Hey I'm here! Sorry I got a bit late. Get in!" 

Sofia looked at Liam with shocked eyes, had Maya called him and asked him to do so? She then looked at her friends, gave them a beautiful smile and said her goodbye's. "Hopefully we will meet again soon! Bye!" 

As she got in, she looked at the car with a weird expression and thought, "White? What a tacky color!"

"What? You didn't want me to help you out?" When Liam looked at her dirty expression, he thought that she didn't appreciate his kindness.

"Huh? No... I had actually called Maya to pick me up earlier. Thanks anyways." Sofia took out her phone and called Maya so as to inform her about this. 

Some distance away, both Maya and Aiden had already witnessed this scene. 

"That's Liam's car. I guess there was no need for us to come here." Aiden shrugged.

Maya looked at the duo and had question marks all over her face, did Sofia... like Liam?

Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard her phone ring. "Yes?"

Sofia told her that she had already got a ride from someone. "Ya, I saw that. We were just behind the car you got in. Do you want to join us or…?" 

"Just a second." Sofia turned and looked at Liam and asked him about it.

Maya waited for her response as she stared at the white SUV in front of her. 

"You are with Aiden right? Liam says that since it is almost dinner time, we can go there together. Our gathering from last time is also pending." 

Maya looked at Aiden and then she answered Sofia with a yes. They ended the call after deciding a place to meet at.
