Where's CEO Xia?!

Secretary Cheng looked helplessly at the faint outline of his Boss through the car window, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

It had been a few days already that his Boss had a complete night's rest. He would often stay up late and wake up before the sun had even risen up for these past few weeks. So, as his most reliable right-hand man, Secretary Cheng would always remind his stubborn Boss to let his body rest.

But now that Xia Jiannan had decided to take heed to his requests, Secretary Cheng could only suck it up and deal with the unfinished tasks left by the Boss.

The pitiful secretary could almost feel his body spasming from the tons of workload on the CEO's plate.

Regardless, he still went back inside the lavishly designed hotel to meet with Mr. Liang to discuss the CEO's matters.

The manager of Haohua, Mr. Liang, was an amicable man.

"Everything has been taken care of, Mr. Cheng. Please send my regards to CEO Xia and tell him that there's nothing to worry about." Mr. Liang said with a kind smile plastered on his face.

Just as he was about to send the other party off, Mr. Liang knitted his brows as he noticed Secretary Cheng fidgeting in his seat.

"Is there something wrong, Mr. Cheng?"

"That, Mr. Liang..." Secretary Cheng hesitated for a moment. "If it's not inconvenient for you to speak, may I inquire about what specific event does our CEO plan to organize?"

Mr. Liang, upon hearing Secretary Cheng's inquiry, turned silent for a long while before he shook his head no.

CEO Xia had tasked him to treat this matter with utmost secrecy so he really could not divulge even the tiniest bit of information to anyone.

"I'm afraid I cannot provide you an answer to your question. Please pardon me..." Mr. Liang smiled ruefully.

After exchanging a few more pleasantries, Secretary Cheng turned and left Mr. Liang while lamenting in his heart.

'Boss really likes to do things discreetly. Even I do not know what he is planning all along.'

The moment he stepped outside the glass doors of the restaurant, Secretary Cheng was surprised to see that the CEO's car had not yet left. He thought that by now, Xia Jiannan was on his way back home.

'It seems that the CEO still had an ounce of care for this old me and decided to wait for me.'

This thought brought a smile on the slightly wrinkled old face of Secretary Cheng. With a spring in his step, he walked towards the car.

However, his smile slowly turned into a frown when he reached and glanced at the backseat of the car.

"Where's CEO Xia?" There was a sense of urgency in Secretary Cheng's tone as he asked the driver for his Boss's whereabouts. "Where did CEO Xia go?"

The poor driver could only look blankly at Secretary Cheng and reply confusedly, "I saw the CEO got into another car."

"Oh..." Secretary Cheng nodded absentmindedly. But after a few seconds, the driver's words sunk in, and he exclaimed, "He got into another car?!"

Driver Shao nodded, "Yes. You even escor–"

But before he could finish his sentence, Secretary Cheng butted in. "WHAT?! What did you just say? CEO Xia got into another car?! Why didn't you stop him?"

Driver Shao's brows were furrowed as he repeated what he was about to say earlier before he was cut off.

"Mr. Cheng, you even escorted him into the other car, don't you remember? I thought that CEO Xia might have requested for another ride so I did not stop him."

Secretary Cheng almost puked blood when he heard this. How can you be so calm when the CEO might have been abducted?!

But Secretary Cheng could not refute that he had been negligent earlier in not ensuring the CEO's safety. So in a much calmer tone than before, he asked: "Did you get the plate number of the car? What model? Color? Did you see the driver?"

It was not that Secretary Cheng was exaggerating, it's just that this time was extremely crucial.

They needed to immediately find the CEO now that there were dangers everywhere. Someone out there might be lurking in the shadows, waiting for the right opportunity to strike.

It was just recently that a few important people in the business circle were targeted. Some of them were hospitalized because they suffered grievous injuries. One of them even remained comatose for almost a month now and his current state was still unknown.

It already happened to CEO Fu Yi of Fu Enterprise and to CEO Wang Shenyun of Wang Empire Estates. They could not let it happen to their CEO too.

Driver Shao immediately caught on to Secretary Cheng's worry, and he tried hard to recall anything about the other car.

While waiting for Driver Shao to recall any details, Secretary Cheng stood outside under the sweltering heat as he looked left and right to see if there were others who he could ask from.

It just so happened that he caught sight of two men heading their way. One was wearing the valet uniform of Haohua, while the other person was someone he was acquainted with.

"Mr. Sun!" Secretary Cheng called out to his acquaintance.

His Boss and the CEO of Wang Empire Estates were good friends. It was no wonder why the both of them knew each other.

Sun Yiqi was talking to Li Wei, the valet who went over to inform him that a beautiful blonde woman was waiting for him downstairs, when he heard someone call his name.

Turning his head towards the voice, he saw Cheng Zhou's familiar figure not far away.

"Sir, the car is gon–"

"Thank you for your help! Here is a small token from me." Secretary Sun pulled out a few 100 Yuan bills from his pocket, not even bothering to count them, and he handed them to Li Wei without a second thought.

After that, Li Wei was left standing there flabbergasted as Secretary Sun strode over towards Secretary Cheng.

The valet noticed that the car of the beautiful woman was gone, but before he could tell Secretary Sun about it, he was suddenly stuffed with a lot of 100 Yuan bills?

Li Wei was speechless.
