Back to the shop

[You have been in the world of Ernia for 12 hours, starting the transfer back to Arashina. The time in the world of Ernia will freeze until the user comes back.]

As Aurus had barely read the message, he felt a sudden dizziness and closed his eyes. Taking a moment to recover from the dizziness, he lifted his head and saw that he was already back in the shop. Quickly looking at his wrist and seeing his watch, he saw the time and confirmed that there had indeed only been half an hour since he was gone. According to the message of the system, an hour in Arashina meant 24 hours on Ernia. Considering he had left for half a day, 12 hours, half an hour in this world was the perfect fit and there was no problem. However, when he left, he also received a notice saying that the world time of Ernia was stopped while he was away. Thanks to it, in the future, he wouldn't have to be scared to miss some important events or to be gone for too long and having his adventurer's ID revoked. According to the attendant, if an adventurer didn't take a task for six months, then his license was automatically revoked and he would have to start back from F rank.

Shaking his head to stop thinking about the world of Ernia, he turned his attention to his shop. He didn't forget his goals in transferring to the other world. He wanted to collect enough monster cultivation resources to sell in the shop, complete his task and improve his understanding of the system. After all, he had randomly awakened a week before in a world that went against everything he had ever believed. Not to mention having a system and being transferred to another world but even the cultivation system of the world was something that would only exist in fantasy and novels. He couldn't understand the goal of sending him who was no one and had nothing to a world where he could faintly see the hope of living with his mother and sister. However, this time, he wouldn't lose them. Furthermore, by following the system tasks and operating the shop, he believed he would eventually be able to not only make himself stronger but also the entire human race. This way, humanity would be able to win against the monsters and become the overlord of the planet.

With his new conviction, he opened the task icon and confirmed the completion of the cultivation resource collection task. The first reward, the store sign. The store sign was a board that was immediately installed by the system on top of the exterior of the shop.

Aurus went outside and immediately, the large board immediately attracted his attention. The sign was located right on top of the door and the words on the board were illuminated in a way that would be pleasant to the eyes. A faint glow on the store sign brought people's attention without being repulsive. Smiling faintly from the store sign, Aurus was quite happy with it and he could only think 'The system is extravagant as always.'

Going back inside the shop, he took out his second reward for the task, the beast contract of another world. Obviously, the beast contract wasn't a contracted beast but only the chance for Aurus to contract a single beast in another world which at this moment meant the world of Ernia. As he accepted this reward, he immediately felt some kind of branding in his soul which was the beast contract. Under normal circumstances, the Hunter would have to use his soul power which came from cultivation to contract with a beast. However, this beast contract created from the system seemed extremely strong. He just needed to lock on the monster before using the beast contract to tame it.

Finally, the world icon. Honestly, even now, Aurus had no idea what this icon would do. However, he was quite excited to unlock a new icon. Up to now, the new functions of the system had helped him a lot. Starting from the task icon which helped him in giving him a direction and a chance at achieving his goals, the shop icon which was to be able to control everything in the shop, the skill icon which allowed him to view his skills and the way to improve them and now, finally the world icon.

The world icon. When Aurus opened it, he immediately understood the use of it. He could see the different worlds he could travel to. Currently, there was only the world of Arashina and the world of Ernia but eventually, he believed he would have access to more worlds. Even though he knew it would take a long time before it happened since he couldn't even collect effectively the resources in one world now, he was still excited to have the chance to visit multiple worlds. Moreover, the icon also had a timer next to the world of Ernia which showed the time that needed to be elapsed before he could travel there once again.

Finally closing the icon, he looked at the empty shop in front of him. Opening the shop icon and the system space at the same time, he started to place the materials in the different display cabinets. However, just as he started and wanted to place a second slime core in another display cabinet, the system rejected his attempt and a message appeared in his view.

[Two of the same monster cultivation resource cannot be placed in two different display cases. A single display case can fit as much monster cultivation resources of the same type of materials at once. It is unprofessional to place the same cultivation resource in multiple display cases. If the user wants to fill all the display cases, the user should think about getting other monster cultivation resources.]

While Aurus was surprised that the system had written so much when he normally only wrote a sentence or two, a new message appeared in front of his eyes.

[Note that the future customers may only use the monster cultivation material inside the shop and is not allowed to bring it outside. For the protection of the user, the shop possesses a defensive mode against any attackers. The mode will start by itself when necessary. No violence is allowed in the shop.]

This time, when the system finished giving his piece he didn't respond anymore when Aurus asked some questions.

Thinking about the two messages from the system, Aurus understood that there was no way to just place a slime core in each of the display cases and that each display case actually had a small space where he could store the same cultivation material indefinitely. In this case, in the future, he would need a lot more materials for each of the systems since the shop really seemed empty. Whenever he added a new monster cultivation material, the description of the material appeared in front of the display case and the way it was placed in the display case made it look grander. Aurus had to agree that the system knew business tactics even if there were weird rules.

Thinking back to the second message he received, the protection and the no violence policy were self-explanatory. However, the reason why the customers could not bring the materials bought out of the shop was an extremely simple reason. Maybe the system heard Aurus's wishes or it was just a coincidence. Aurus didn't understand immediately and only after reading the text a few times. By having the customer use the resource directly inside the shop, it prevented the customer from buying the resource and selling it back with a profit. This way, it prevented the profiteers. Aurus understood figured it out after reading the text and seeing the price on the display case. The price of the monster cultivation resources was quite low. However, he really couldn't change the prices himself as they were engraved in the bottom right of the display case and the shop seemed to be preventing him from writing a new price. Of course, he could give another price to every customer but in this case, he would be offending a lot of people for nothing and everyone would look down on him. While he didn't want to, he didn't have a choice but follow the arrangement of the system on this. There was also another reason which was that the rich would all accumulate the resources for themselves and in the end, his goal to strengthen the humans as a whole would be crushed.

While thinking of this, Aurus continued to store the resources in the display cases. The cores of the blue slimes, the cores of the green slimes, the herbs, the poison of the poisonous toad and the claws of the fox were all placed in their respective display cases and the extras he had collected were all place in the storage space of each display cases.

Looking at the store which had been filled with the few resources he had collected in Ernia, he turned around and went up the stairs. He didn't know why but he felt incredibly tired. Back when he was in the other world he was full of energy, wasn't tired and wasn't hungry but right now he just wanted to sleep until evening the next day. Of course, he hadn't forgotten the breakfast of his sister the next morning. After all those years, he could finally make breakfast and take care of his little sister, it was something he had never dared to imagine back on Earth. With a smile, he closed his eyes and immediately fell asleep.
