Chapter 11- Daisy

"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind." ... unknown

We had to create posters on illnesses that affected or imparted us especially. Andrew got to work on some heart dieses posters, his eyebrows scrunched up as he worked I stayed in my place flipping through books about angels and their descents I was so engrossed in the book that I didn't notice Andrew sneaking up on me and yanking it out of my hands.

He inspected the book with a frown as his eyes glazed over the little details, I tried reaching for it but I was to short. Andrew turned his back on me and continued reading.

"Why are you reading this?", he asked his puzzled eyes staring right into mine. Leaving my face void of any emotion. I shrugged

"A light read I guess, now give me back my book."

He raised his pierced eyebrow at me pulling a chair beside me he looked at my notes and raised his eyebrow at me again.

"You're onto something aren't you. But what exactly are you trying to find Quinn. I don't believe the bullshit you're saying about light read. So what exactly are you searching for?" his eyes pierced into mine almost like he was staring into my soul.

It was unnerving sighing I pulled my hand through my hair. " What can you tell me about bearers or light, mismatches and halflings. You know out of curiosity."

"Where did you hear this from." his voice was icy

"Are you going to help me or... you what I'm sorry for asking." Standing up from my chair I packed up my books in a hurry. Andrew pulled me by the wrist and I fell awkwardly half of my body on him and my legs hanging at a weird angle on the chair.

"If you really-" he was cut of by Nathan running into the room. His eyes were practically like pools of gold his white hair frantic as if he had been running his hand through it. His eyes narrowed on Andrew.

Andrew pulled me up and pushed me behind him squaring his shoulders. I really couldn't see his facial expressions but Nathan's were vacant of any emotion. He bent his head to the side and stared Andrew down.

"What are you looking for mismatch." Andrews voice was terrifying and sent shivers up my spine.

"You know stating what I am isn't really an insult. You need to be more creative." Nathan said his eyes were now focused on me. "Come with me Quinn there's something you need to see."

I tried moving away from Andrew but his hand was on my wrist, Nathan raised his eyebrow at the action. Andrew paid no attention to him but bent his head to my ear without dropping his gaze from Nathan.

"Be ready at midnight, we're going for a field trip." He whispered before releasing my wrist.

Nathan grabbed my wrist and dragged me out of the door.

"Hey, hey what's your deal dragging me like a rag doll.", his fast pace making it hard to keep up with.

He pulled me away from the school buildings and towards the field at the back. Everyone was there Anai, looked frustrated she was the only one showing any emotion. They were surrounding something.

"While you were out with Andrew, we found another body."

My breath got stuck in my throat as they all moved away. I noticed that there wasn't anyone around for miles.

The whole area seemed vacant and quiet it wasn't natural but then I had a feeling that there won't be anyone here soon.

"Why are you showing me this exactly?" I asked

"Because this time I think the bodies are linked to you." Xavier said

"Quinn just look at it." Xena whispered she never met my eyes as that's when the twins stepped aside.

The girl was my age but her eyes were full of horror, she clutched her neck as blood streamed over her legs. Her skin had already lost her shine, her hair rugged and all over the place, she fought to her last breath, if you stared closely enough you would see the tears that had streamed down her face. My face wouldn't let me register any more details so instead I let my eyes roam. Her face and most of her body were full of scratches but what caught my attention was the note in between her uniform. The note was crisp and clean not a stain of blood anywhere. Jonathan passed it to me

'Halfling, many would fall at your feet but you're powerless to stop it. Your mum would be so proud of the pathetic little thing you've become'

Tears pooled down my cheeks as I read it. I wasn't sad I was angry. Who was this person and how does he/she know me.

"What was her name?" I asked

"Her name was Daisy. And I suggest you tell us what's wrong or else!" Valerie yelled catching me off guard the air around her was electrifying.

"What the hell are you people. Look I don't know what's going on but you have no right to yell at me." My voice matching hers my vision was red the others took a step back watching me with curiosity

"The sooner you start telling me what's going on maybe shed some light on why people are dying maybe just maybe we can stop it from happening.", my voice rising with every note

I couldn't control it, but I felt my heart coming out of my chest. Turning away I ran from the field and towards the dorm. Slamming the door I laid on my bed and drifted of the a dreamless sleep. The only thing on my mind was Daisy, her bloody hand clawing at her throat
