Kenzo’s Not That Bad

Amos stranded across the Lands in search of his new target. It was going to be his final mission until he can freely work for Catra to assist Liang in the resurrecting of Han Geol. This was the sole reason he was so willing to work for a monster like Catra. In other words, he had no intentions of becoming a villain at all.

He secretly blamed himself for Han Geol's death, and was willing to help Liang get him back.

'I'm kinda nervous and excited at the same time. Because, I'm finally going to Atridorne again, but, I last left Snow and Xui Zang there. Also, it's a freaking King I'm assassinating, let me see why...'

He took out the paper with the information on his target, "Hmm, " he looked down at it while walking, "It says that King Adrian isn't the rightful King of Atridorne here. And it also states all of his terrible deeds as well."

The MTS assistant appeared, "Is he YOUR target?"

Amos glimpsed at him, "Yeah, obviously."

"Then you should know that, " the MTS assistant looked up at the sky, "There are many Holy Knights there all protecting King Adrian and delivering Justice to their territory."

Amos looked at the paper again, "That's okay, " he looked at the Assistant once more, "As long as they're a lot weaker than that Holy Knight who came with Suzuiya, then I'll be fine. Besides, it's a stealth mission. I'm required to murder the King, not his people."

"Also, I need to call you something, the name 'Blueface' is a bit rude. I think you more than deserve a name now, since you care about me so much that you're warning me of danger..."

"I do not care about you to the slightest degree."

"What about Anders? No, forget it, I'm getting tired of all these 'A' names in this world. I'll name you Kenzo, " he looked at the MTS assistant, "Kenzo it is. It was the name I hope I'd give myself, but given that Snow forced a name down my throat, I had to go with 'Amos' to avoid upsetting her. By the way, Kenzo means 'Strong and Healthy' in Japanese."

"I didn't need a name, " he looked away, "But if you insist."

"Great, Kenzo. Hey Kenzo, I just thought about this. What was your name before you became my assistant? Because if I'm not mistaken, you were Xui Zang's Assistant, weren't you?"

"Xui Zang didn't name me. You're actually the first to name me in decades."

"Cool. Also, how many MTS users did you teach before me."

"Including Xui Zang, it would be a little under a thousand."

"Waw, that's a lot, I thought there were only a few of these MTSs remaining."

"There is only a handful."

They walked without speaking for a while.

"Say, who was your favorite MTS user so far? It's gotta me right?"

"Don't push it."

As they walked to Atridorne, Amos brainstormed the conspiracy in a way far from impulsive. And given that his face was seen in Atridorne before, he had to avoid attention at all costs. He had planned to change his appearance and so on to take safety measures.

'I can't mess this mission up. There must not be a single mistake, because those Holy Knights can be prevalent throughout the Kingdom for all I know. And also, the people of Atridorne—most of them, actually saw me there. So, I need to change my appearance a bit. But of course, there's no way Gee Ling the Gate Goddess will be unable to see through my disguise. And I really hope there are potions or something that can change my appearance temporarily.'

"Hey Kenzo, " Amos looked at Kenzo, "Are there any potions or elixirs capable of changing one's appearance."

"Don't tell me that you are planning to change into a disguise. Because I hope you understand that the Gate Goddess will be able to perceive your true identity with the help of your soul—

"Yeah—yeah, I know. Just tell me where can I find stuff that'll change my identity temporarily."

"Hopefully you planned to use the magic potion only when you got past Gee Ling."

"Exactly. I'm not that dumb you know. I already thought about Gee Ling."

"Then, if this is your plan, then yes. Yes, there are a variety of ways you can use magic to change your appearance."

"Great. Where and how can I find and use these potions?"

"It doesn't have to be a potion. It can be a simple spell allowing you to temporarily change your physique. But if it is a potion you want, then there are many shops around the world where there are hundreds of options you can buy."

"Hmmm, " Amos put his hands in his pocket, "Welp, I'm penniless."

"Don't look at me, I'm broke too."

A man, wearing gold and silver, bumped into Amos and walked right through Kenzo, "Watch it you short fool! You're getting your filth all over my attire! Oh, your smell hurts my nose."

Amos eyed the man, looked at Kenzo, and smirked like the devil.

***

"Hah! How stupid was that guy!"

"You know, I think this villain lifestyle has changed you, Amos."

"For the better or the worse?"

"I'd say both. Stealing was never your thing. But then again, it's a necessary evil."

"Then how else was I suppose to get something worth money without wasting time, Kenzo."

"You could have worked for a few Arichrysos."

"That would have wasted too much time—I have three weeks to assassinate a big-shot King for crying out loud! Besides, this Golden necklace and this diamond watch are more than enough to buy me some potions."

"Last time I checked, you only needed one."

"What if I want to also buy invisibility or something, huh? Because I think something so cool will come in handy for sure!"

"Also, you left the man unconscious in the middle of the brick road. Aren't you a little worried that something or someone might run over him?"

"Why should I be? He'll be fine. I didn't steal everything from him, and there's no way scalpers are gonna miss the shine in his jewelry."

"I see...you really have turned evil."

"Ah, come on, Kenzo. Just be useful and tell me where I can find the nearest shop."

"There are many shops on the outskirts of the Kingdom. Maybe you'll find a Wizard somewhere."

"Great."

"Also, " Kenzo looked uneasy, "I've had this on my mind for days now, and I think now is a good time to bring it up. It's about you. I overheard what Johnathan Mitchell was saying...You're not from here, aren't you?"

Amos also looked away in silence.

As they walked, Amos looked up at the pink and blue gradient sky as the cool wind blew his blonde hair gently, "Johnathan Mitchell was speaking the truth that day. I'm not from here. I had promised myself to never tell anyone about this, but — I've transmigrated somehow, and it's been a perpetual mystery ever since. I'm not sure what and how it happened, but it did, and now I'm here."

"I see..."

"I guess Johnathan was right, I'm a walking anomaly. I don't even know myself, yet I live every day like normal and look over the mystery that is I."

"It's a bit obvious when you think about it. The way you talk, the way the act. It's not like an Archerian at all."

Amos looked at him, "Yeah, I've been trying to wrap my head around the world ever since, and up to this day I'm not even sure if I'm dreaming or not. But I still sense something great—a greater purpose here."

Just thinking back at all the recent anomalies that took place, Amos was bothered excessively. He started to miss his world, and reminisced the good times he had there. All of what had happened to Amos was changing him even though he didn't know. Archeria on its own was a beautiful world, but for Amos, it didn't certainly feel like home.

He kept looking at the skies as he walked at the side of the road.

Then, Kenzo, who was rather quiet, looked at him and said, "You know, just the fact that I'm speaking to an alien scares me shitless."

They both laughed as they looked away.
