A Run Down Power Up Lane

Ash and Pikachu have finally made it to Pewter City as they come over the hill and look down on the city lit up by lights in the night, purple, orange, red bright lights light up this amazing city, Ash and Pikachu look along in amazement as Butterfree lands on Ash's head.

"Pidgeot!" Ash turns his head to see Pidgeot fly over the trees and land on the rock right in front of Ash, "Did you get them their safely and retrieve Butterfree's Pokeball?" Ash asks as he looks at Pidgeot who nods his head in reply and drops the Pokeball from his mouth. "Thank you Pidgeot," Ash rubs Pidgeot's fur, Butterfree flies up and smiles at Pidgeot. "All right guys return," Ash returns Pidgeot and Butterfree as he hears a faint voice below him, "that'll be $100 for your Pokemon resting on my rock" "Flint!" Ash shouts as he jumps down from the ledge, "Oh it's Ash and Pikachu," Flint replies with a surprised tone. "What are you doing in Pewter City? I thought you would have gone to maybe Bagyo Region for another Pokemon League." "Bagyo Region?" Ash says confusingly "I came to Pewter City because I got this letter from this strange old man, the letter told me to go to the old water mill." Flint looks at Ash concerned "So you actually followed the letter," Flint says in a soft tone, "you know about the letters?" Ash has a confused and surprised look. "Come with me Ash I'll tell you what needs to be done but I need to stop by the gym first ok."

Ash and Flint arrive at the gym where they are greeted by all of Flint's kids except for Timothy and Brock, "Oh it's Ash and Pikachu," a lovely tone comes from the background, a lady walks up and grabs Pikachu holding him in the air, "look at you Pikachu as cute as ever," the lady is Brock's mum she pats Pikachu on the head with Pikachu smiling with his eyes closed. "Where's Brock?" Ash says as he looks around the gym and can't see him in sight, "His at his Pokemon Village with Timothy," a clear and pleasant voice catches the ears of Ash as a hand appears on Ash's shoulder, he turns around and sees a young girl around 10, brown spike hair, wearing a white coat that sits perfectly around her waist with 2 pockets over her chest, to go with her white coat is a cherry red skirt that comes just above her knees with white and red shoes, it's Susie Brock's sister. "His at his Pokemon village looking after injured Pokemon," Susie explains to Ash "I can take you there after you complete your task if you'd like," she smiles at Ash who has a confused expression on his face "complete my task," he says softly as he turns back to Flint. "All right we better get going Ash," Flint starts walking out of the gym as he passes an object to Susie but Ash doesn't see it, his waving goodbye to everyone "bye guys, it was nice seeing you all again," Ash and Flint walk out of the gym as Susie hold up the object her father gave her and its another letter.

Ash and Flint arrive at the water wheel, but there's no river no water anywhere to be seen. "There's no water here!" Ash yells as he looks across the dry trench in the ground, "Flint how do you suppose I get the water wheel working if it's as dry as bone?" but no response "Flint?" Ash looks around and sees that Flint has disappeared. "Always leaving huh Pikachu,"

Ash and Pikachu walk further up the dried-up river, "I know Pikachu," Ash pulls out his Z-ring and an electrifying Z crystal from his pocket, "if we power up your thunderbolt and shock the ground it might just make the water underneath come and spurt out," Pikachu stands in front of Ash "With the power of Alola embedded inside us and the z crystal, the trust and power between trainer and Pokemon, Pikachu 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt," electricity runs through Ash and lands on Pikachu as Pikachu jumps up. "Pika….Pika….PikaCHUUUUUUU!" an enormous thunderbolt realises through the air and strikes the dried-up river with enormous power.

Susie looks out the window of her house, a bright yellow light catches her attention she shields her eyes with her forearm, "Dad!" She shouts out "Did you see that?" Flint walks over and sees the bright light disappeared, "I think Ash and Pikachu just got the river flowing again, I better get going, pass me the letter Susie" Susie hands over the letter and looks back out the window to where the bright light was, "wait dad" Susie calls out "Let me give him the letter I promise I'll get it to him," Flint nods his head as he hands the letter to his daughter who shoots out the house running towards the bright light where Ash and Pikachu are.

"Did it work Pikachu?" Ash and Pikachu look on as a dark deep hole has been created in the middle of the dried-up trench. The ground starts shaking, "Pikachu we better move back" Ash and Pikachu run back as a rumbling sound is causing the earth beneath them to shake.

*BANG

Water sprouts up from the hole causing Ash and Pikachu to fall over. Ash and Pikachu turn around and look up, water is falling on them as they see the water sprout filling up the river and once again causing the river to flow. "We did it Pikachu!" "Pika" Pikachu jumps into Ash's arms as they look further down the river and see the water wheel turning on its own, "Wow you actually did it" A voice comes from behind them Ash and Pikachu turn around and see Susie there with a Kabutops next to her, "now that you've finished your task I suppose you want this letter then?" Susie pulls the old letter out from her pocket in her white coat. "Yes, please" Ash response politely, "Well you can have it on one condition, you must beat me in a Pokemon battle" "You're on!" Ash jumps up excited as he pulls out a Pokeball from his belt. "Kabutops lets finish what my brother started!" Susie sends out her Kabutops, "Butterfree I choose you" Ash throws the Pokeball as Butterfree appears from a bright light.

"Kabutops, start with Slash" Susie calls out the first move, "Butterfree dodge and hit back with psybeam Ash retaliates, Kabutops runs in at a fast pace and jumps up at Butterfree about to hit slash but Butterfree tucks his wings in and falls down dodging Kabutops slash and hits back with psybeam right into Kabutops stomach sending it up and back into the ground. "Kabutops are you ok?" Susie yells out, Kabutops gets back to its feet and is ready to go, "All right lets do this" Susie yells out with relief, "hit Butterfree with your rockslide," "Butterfree fly up," Ash calls out with rocks come flying down almost hitting Butterfree but still missing, "All right Butterfree," Ash yells out, "Now Kabutops," Kabutops appears from one of the falling rocks, "Brick Break," Kabutops lands a direct hit on Butterfree's head sending it into the ground. "That was great Kabutops" Susie is jumping up and down, Kabutops lands on its feet and looks back at Susie and smiles, "Butterfree stun spore," Ash calls out "What, how is Butterfree still going?" "Fighting-type moves are weak against flying type Pokemon," Ash explains, "kabutops uhh umm Harden," Susie calls out in a panic, Kabutops uses harden but it doesn't change the effect that stun spore has, Butterfree hits Kabutops with stun spore making it paralysed. "No, Kabutops try and break through it," Susie begs out. "All right lets end this Butterfree, pick Kabutops up with hurricane then hit bug buzz," Ash calls out his final attacks, "kabutops get out of there," Susie yells out with little to no hope. A massive hurricane comes at Kabutops who is paralysed and cannot move, it picks Kabutops up hitting it over and over again with the strong and powerful wind, Butterfree flying just outside uses Bug buzz, the sound goes through the hurricane hitting Kabutops sending it flying out of the hurricane and into the ground. The Hurricane subsides as you can see clearly that Kabutops has fainted therefore making Ash and Butterfree the winners, "Butterfree return, that was great you've become so powerful," "Kabutops are you ok?" Susie runs over to her Kabutops and falls on her knees holding Kabutops up by the shoulder checking to see if its ok, Kabutops regions consciousness and smiles at Susie, "You did great Kabutops get some rest now" Susie returns Kabutops, "you put up a great fight Susie" Ash's hand extends out in front of Susie to bring her back to her feet. "Thanks, Ash, you're Butterfree is really strong, here's the letter but you can still not open it," Susie tells Ash. "What? Why not?" Ash looks confused, Susie smiles at Ash as she picks up Pikachu and pats him on the head, "The instructions we got given is you need to open it when you have seen my big brother Brock," "didn't you say Brock was at his Pokemon village though?" Ash replies a little annoyed, "Don't worry we were going to see him anyway and I can take you to him now his only just past a small forest on route 3," Susie lets go off Pikachu and they start walking towards route 3. "Damn it, I ripped my dress again," Susie shouts out frustrated, "I'll get Brock to sew it up all good." Ash, Pikachu and Susie head out of Pewter City towards Brock's village.

"Where have all these injured Pokemon come from?" It's Brock, his surrounded by Chansey, Blissey, Audino, Wigglytuff, Comfey and a Pokemon we haven't seen yet. "Apparently a flying Pokemon set fire to Viridian Forest and the Viridian City Pokemon Centre can't be contacted," Timothy tells Brock, "all right Chansey and Blissey help those Rattata, Audino and Comfey help the flying type Pokemon, the rest of you help me with the bug type Pokemon," Brock shouts out the orders as everyone nodes their heads and helps the injured Pokemon.
