Coffee beans and Accidents

I shuffled my feet to move around others and finally reached the table at the end, "One Tapioca-hojicha-latte and one Honey-milk-latte, right here! Can I get you anything else?" I asked with a friendly grin to the young girl and boy sitting infront me. High-schoolers, on a date maybe? Hah and here I am still single as a unicorn.

"Thank you, we'll call you if we need anything else" replied the boy with a brilliant smile. He looks kinda like Haruto, hope I could be like the girl beside this kid. Be able to openly blush like she did..."Alright then,Enjoy" and I waddled my way to the cafe front desk. Phew, it's so crowded today.

"Hirano-kun, settling in okay? It might seem too busy now but you'll get used to it" said Sugita-kun with a wink, another employee.

"Haha, it's fun actually. So do you have the same shift as me Sugita-kun?" I said taking down an order at the same time.

"Yep, we are shift-buddies! There are others as well like Suha-kun, Minami-chan - you'll get to know them!" Said Sugita-kun taking an order towards a able.

I moved towards another table, they asked for some maple syrup pancakes and coffee, somehow I mixed up and added 1 more coffee then needed. So I was taking the extra one back, turning around I almost clashed into another employee but stepped sideways, yay! smooth save!

But the other girl was apologizing profusely and I tried to calm her, "Hey, no harm done"

"Ahem" I heard someone from behind me.

'Oh, shit' I thought. 2nd day on the cafe and I already screw-up. Trying to avoid the clash onwards I completely forgot about the black coffee on my tray and bamp! It slammed straight into the stranger behind me.

"Oh, god. I'm so sorry! I didn't see- I was trying to avoid the - shit, it was hot wasn't it?!" I blabbered in panic.

"Hey, hey it's okay, I knew you didn't mean it. It's also my fault I kind of came up behind you" The stranger gave me an amused smile, He's kind...and tall!

"Ah still I ruined your shirt, I -so sorry- how can I compensate - wait is that a burn? of course it is, the coffee was ho--" I said nervously clamping a wet towel on the guys collarbone, damn and his white pristine shirt shit.

The guy looked down on me, well the look's not condensing or anything.... I feel like I'm short compared to him dammit.

Ah! I was too close, only realising that now I stepped back with a blush, "Uh,sorry"

"Haha, you apologize too much, it's fine. I'll be better if you order me a iced latte and banana yogurt tart though?" the other guy smiled again. Shaking his brown, almost black hair around.

"Ugh, Yes of course, I'll get it soon" I said moving towards the front desk.

....

"Are you sure you're ok?" I said after 'Mr.Kind stranger' took a sip of the iced latte.

"I am, I am~see? The red is going down now"

said the guy showing me his burn spot with a wink.

"Oh alright the-"

"Oi, Isami! We're here!" I heard a yell from Haruto and looking back I saw the 5 idiots ( Yuki's meek but also an idiot) making their way in.

"Ah, please call me if you need anything " saying that I moved towards my friends.

"Keep it down you, I still have - ugh -20 mins more" I said and all of them just took their seats in and gave me an "OK' sign.

" Aren't you gonna ask for our orders? is this how you behave to customers? " said Haruto with fake seriousness, I just rapped the menu card on his head and smiled.

"Yeah! I want some pancakes and Iced latte and- " said Kai and I noted the others orders down. For the rest of my shift they sipped on their drinks and chatted.

"They look like a rowdy bunch, but they light up the atmosphere." said the manager sipping on his own bit of coffee. I just grinned.

"Ok now shu shu. Don't keep your friends waiting. " said the manager and I jumped on the chance and soon said my goodbyes.

"Let's go guys! They let me off early. I also got some donuts for all of us " I said with a proud smile.

"Hurray! Which one's?" Kai asked. "Mochi and Hazelnut Hehe"..chatting we stepped out of the cafe..

Shinjuku was quite different from our hometown - actually they are the opposites. Kanazawa was all about gardens and ponds, not many high rise buildings. But proud and known to be the art and cultural enthusiast's paradise. Beautiful with all its Edo-era buildings, districts, castles, art museums and regional handicrafts. A plus point that it's situated in the coastal center of Honshu, meaning sea! And an all year snow...damn I miss home suddenly.

Though as we walked around Shinjuku, just exploring. We saw that it was vibrant with busy life, karaoke rooms, malls, buzzing clubs, cafes and high class restaurants. Excitement was running through our veins as we strolled throughout the mall. It was around 5.45pm that we came at a stop to sit down in the local park benches and digged into our donuts.

"So where to next?" said Ryouta looking at Yuki sitting beside him, who was adorably munching on the last bits of his donut. "You look like a chipmunk " said Ryouta making Yuki blush. We all laughed.

"Hmm, how about we hit the movies? I heard a new one is running. Don't know when the timing will be better next" Said Sasaki and we all agreed.

Oh my, a horror movie. Nice (I'm being sarcastic). As we moved towards the ticket counter I tried to calm myself down and thought - oh well this may as well come to my advantage. This is the perfect shoujo-manga horror movie flick, ya? Where the girl gets to cling on to the guy? Yep Yep I see some good in it.

My happy thoughts didn't run for long though.

"Oh my, Haru-chan! You guys are here too!"
