CHAPTER 9



Three minutes passed, and it was morning on the desert. The huge, golden sun rose over the edge of the barren world, and its rays fell on a lonely camel train that was already on the move. The cruel sun beat down, its one malevolent eye unblinking, and the sky was it's co-conspirator with not even a wisp of cloud to soften the harsh rays. The lizards took shelter in the shadows of the rocks where the sand was not hot enough to roast them, but there was no shade large enough for them. Each step sunk into the searing sand, the air was thick and hazy, each breath like drowning in larva.

Axel spotted the lizards running to take shelter in the shadows of the rocks. "I think we should take shelter somewhere as soon as possible" said Quipz. "What's wrong?" asked Madeleine. "The howling winds are approaching us, it has the potential to blow away tons of sand and hundreds of animals" replied Quipz. "Where are we gonna hide?" asked Fred to Omega. "No idea kid" replied Omega. The raging sandstorm neared them and their hearts were thumping faster. They had no idea where to hide, instead they closed their eyes and lied down on the hot sand which could have roasted them. The sandstorm approached them, it was a dust havoc. The winds blew at high speeds that animals like camels and komodo dragons flew away. Axel held on to a rock which was as big as a camel. All others were confused and they all were taken away by the sandstorm. All others except Axel were trapped at the heart of the sandstorm and they were spun fast by the sandstorm. The sky was yellow-orange in colour when the sandstorm was hovering there. Axel was astonished on looking upwards as he saw his friends trapped inside the sandstorm.

The winds blew faster and faster as the sandstorm gained more power. Axel could see nothing as dust filled the entire space due to the winds. The strong winds were carrying stones of smaller sizes to larger ones. One of the medium sized stones struck hard at Axel's forehead and he fainted as soon as the stone had hit him.

HOURS PASSED BY....

Axel was sweating when he had gained consciousness back. Axel glanced at the surroundings and there was no sign of his friends. Axel screamed aloud but there wasn't any response. Axel stood up and rubbed his eyes. His eyes had a little pain as lot of sand was stuck there. He somehow managed to overcome it and he remembered the direction of the winds in a flash and started to move in that direction.

The others were taken away by the sandstorm and they were left behind by the sandstorm at the other end of the barren land. Fred felt thirsty and he felt like sinking in a pool of lava. The temperature in that dimension was so high that small creatures get fried. Quipz and Omega initiated their survival mode to survive in the extreme climate. Quipz said "We've to get out of this place ASAP". "But where is Axel?" asked Phil. "He would be at the other end of the desert. We only have to battle with this high temperature but Axel has to survive among venomous rattle snakes, scorpions and thorny bushes" replied Omega. "Humans, our survival mode is on so we need to get out of this region fast. As long as it is on our lifespan gets reduced at a marginal speed. When it is on our brain will have the capability to work as a universal positioning system and we will be able to know the direction to our target location or destination" said Quipz. "Ah, now it is easy to find Axel" replied Casey. "Nah, we are not going to find Axel" said Omega. "But why?" asked Madeleine. "Our survival mode will turn of automatically after an hour. It is not meant to be turned on for silly matters like finding a human. We can't survive in extreme heat that's why we turned it on" replied Omega. "In order to reach the next teleporter which takes us to the winter land is just 4 miles away" said Quipz. "I won't come with you as long as Axel is not with us" said Madeleine. "We've to go Maddie" said Casey. "We are all humans and what we care for is only our life and not others lives" replied Phil. "I'm his brother guys, I need to fulfil what he had said. Before some days he had said that if he dies don't stop trying to save the earth. So we have to go guys" replied Fred. After having a fierce conversation they started moving towards the next teleporter which was 4 miles away.

Axel looked around and what he all saw was a sea of sand. He saw a rattle snake which was crawling towards him. Axel looked back and ran fast in fear. The snake followed him at a high speed. Axel ran for a few minutes until he was tired. He prayed to god in mind "please make my friends capable of saving the earth". He then gathered all his courage and looked at the snake which was coming to bite him. He didn't even move and said in his mind "oh god, I'm finished". The rattle snake was red in colour. It flicked its tongue in and out and looked Axel with its abyss like eyes. Axel bent his knees in fear as the snake curled around his legs. It climbed his body and finally its head was above Axel's head. The snake hissed and bit on his head. Axel neither felt anything nor did he die. When he looked forward there wasn't any sign of the rattle snake. Axel felt like being touched by a man on his shoulders. When he turned back he was astonished as he saw a man with a golden crown and a wand in his left hand. Behind that man's head bright light was shining and he saw clouds hovering above his head. "Thank you so much for letting me bite you. It was me who was the snake which chased you. Before ten thousand years I was cursed by a witch. In order to get blessed again I had to bite a human who comes to savage lands" said that man. "Who are you?" asked Axel. That man grinned and said "I'm the god of the savage lands kid and I'm named Zehorah. When Zehorah said that lightning struck at the barren lands and Axel had goose bumps at that moment. "Can you please do me some favours" asked Axel. Zehorah laughed aloud and said "I can do anything but it should be inside this planet, the savage lands" replied Zehorah. "Then please show me where my friends are" said Axel. Zehorah raised his magic wand and murmured some magic spells. A magic ball appeared there and Zehorah asked him to take that and said "this thing will work in any dimension of the world. What you have to do is to think of what you want to see and touch this transparent magic ball. If you touch this ball sincerely then you would be able to rewind the visuals and you'll be able to hear the sound. If it happens you would be the only person to do so" said Zehorah. Axel did what Zehorah had said. Luckily he was able to hear the sounds and he rewind the visuals. He saw that his friends were near the next teleporter. He rewinded the visuals and came to know that his friends left him alone. He was neither said nor angry and said "god Zehorah, I was able to hear the sounds and rewind the visuals". "I've sensed it my boy. Now you will be attaining new powers. Your soul will be transformed and you will become a god like me" replied Zehorah. "My friends, they are gone now I've nothing to lose. So I'm willing to sell my soul" said Axel. "You won't have to sell your soul my boy. Your soul will be the most powerful and sacred amongst all. You are going to become the king of the savage lands. Your powers could be used in any dimension of the world my boy" replied Zehorah. "Do you know earth my lord?" asked Axel. "Yes my boy, currently the earth is under the captivity of Riop, the leader of Zewo". Axel shook his head in reply and said in mind that this shouldn't happen. "Hey my boy, I know that you have become a superhuman and you'll die the next day. But don't worry because those powers will become nullified when the light of power shines upon you, that means that you are not gonna die" said Zehorah. "Axel touched Zehorah's feet and said "Thank you my lord". "Look back my boy" said Zehorah. When Axel looked back he was blinded by the bright light which was shining at him, it lasted for about 5 minutes until Axel was completely transformed into the king of savage lands. Axel looked at Zehorah and said "My lord, I'm gonna do good to the earth". Axel now had a crown in his head and he too had a magic wand in his hand. Axel's fingers had high voltage electricity which could be used to create lightning. Zehorah said "You've the capability to defy gravity now and it means that you can fly my boy". Axel tried to raise himself in the air and it was a successful first attempt. "You are no longer Axel my boy, today onwards you are Lord Antonio, the king of savage lands. But that is only when you are among all other gods and kings" said Zehorah. After saying that Zehorah disappeared leaving behind a palm leaf stating that may you have the power to save the earth".  Axel's eyes were now sky blue in colour and he had attained various powers. He wished to teach a lesson to his friends for leaving him behind. He wanted to trouble Fred for telling a lie to his friends.

That day Axel had attained super powers and he engaged in a mission to save the whole earth which was woken into the beta wave which had converted all humans except Axel and his crew into pseudo beings.

Axel used his magic powers to teleport himself to the winter lands to see his friends again and to trouble them for fun....
