Ino Yamamoto 16

They're staring at us.

And whispering to each other.

"What?!" I yell. "Haven't you ever seen someone come out of the bathroom?!"

But no one answers.

They just stare at me.

They whisper to each other who knows what.

And they chuckle.

They're mocking us.

In our faces.

"Shut up! Don't you have anything better to do?! Get a life!" I yell at them.

But they keep staring at us and whispering and mocking us:

"SHUT UP! HAVEN'T YOU EVER SEEM SOMEONE CRYING IN THE BATHROOM?! YEAH, YURI OKABE WAS CRYING THERE, SO WHAT?!"

"Shut up!" Yuri Okabe and glares at me.

But I'm just defending her, and we all know she was crying in there.

Is she dumb or what?

"Just accept it! You were hugging Khanna-san and crying out loud!"

"Nu-uh! What's wrong with you?!" Yuri Okabe yells, glares at me and whispers. "shut the fuck up."

And everyone else keeps staring at us and whispering and mocking us louder and louder and louder.

Some are even recording us with their phones.

"What the f—someone puts her arms under my armpits and carries me like I was a fucking kid, and what the fuck is her deal?! I'm already 15 and I'm in high school! I'm no fucking kid! I'm…

"Ino-chan, you again?!" whoever's carrying me says.

That's Nagai-san's voice.

What's she doing here?

"Every time I hear someone yelling is either you or Izumi-san. Do you want to get expelled or do you simply want my attention?"

"PUT ME DOWN!" I yell and start kicking the air.

"Shut up; you're making a fuckin scene right now," Yuri Okabe says.

"SHUT UP, CRYBABY, AND, YOU, PUT ME DOWMHPMHPMHPMHP!" I was yelling, but Nagai-san covers my mouth with both her hands.

But I bite them as hard as I can.

And she doesn't yell or drops me or anything, she just squeezes my cheeks really, really hard.

"Don't make me angry, Ino-chan," she whispers to my ear.

And I stop biting her.

And she stops squeezing my cheeks.

And I stop yelling and kicking the air.

And I hope she stops being mad at me.

Wait, I have a weird taste in my mouth…

*Savor*

*Savor*

*Savor*

It tastes like iron. Why my mouth tastes like iron? Nagai-san are made of metal or what?

No. She's just bleeding. And the blood's running down her hands and dripping onto the floor, so she's bleeding quite a bit.

But she's stoic about it.

"Hey, Nagai-san, don't you want to go to the infirmary?" —le digo.

"All the way there? Is really far from here, you know?" she asks.

And then she smiles.

"Ok," she leaves but, because she's still carrying me, I go with her.

*RIIIIIING*

The bell rings, and most people goes back to their respective classrooms. Even though I still hear a lot of footsteps behind us—get a life, you know—and in front of us there are still some people staring at us and recording us and whispering and laughing—STOP LOOKING AT ME!

But, hey, you all look really tiny from here.

Ha.

*TOC TOC*

Nagai-san knows at the door.

The nurse opens it and startes at us really confused.

I bet that's because Nagai-san's still carrying me, and it seems she's offering me as a tribute or something.

"Come in, and close the door," she says, and Nagai san comes in (and drags me with her.)

Nagai-san closes the door—probably with her foot—and all the people following us stay outside.

"What happened? You got hit in the lips or something?" the nurses asks me for some reason.

"No…" I say, but I really wanted to tell her "what?! Can't you see the blood on Nagai-san's hands?! Are you really a nurse?!" to be honest.

The nurse takes a cloth and shoves it in my face.

"AHHHH! ARG!" I yell and struggle and wait! Maybe that'll make Nagai-san mad.

I'd rather stop.

And the nurse's still shoving the cloth in my face.

But she finally puts it away, and it's stained with blood.

I touch my face. Was I bleeding? I don't think so. So how—Oh. It seem I bit Nagai-san way harder than I thought.

Maybe I should do something with my anger.

But she carried me! I'm no fucking kid!

No, but neither a dog nor a raccoon. I can't just bite people because I'm angry.

Maybe I should apologize or something.

But she carried me, and she's still carrying me, like I was a fucking—Oh, shut up!

Whatever, maybe I'll apologize later.

"OMG! What happened to you?" the nurse asks when she sees Nagai-san bloody hands.

"I fell down," Nagai-san lies.

"But those are biting mar—

"I said I fell down."

"Yeah, whatever, let me disinfect that."

The nurse turns around and heads to the metal cabinet at the bottom of the infirmary; she then takes some alcohol and bandages from her and comes back.

"Why are you carrying her? Put her down."

Nagai-san puts me dow, and I'm glad she did, because my armpits were hurting like crazy.

Even though everything seems so big from here.

"Sit on the stretcher," the nurse tells Nagai-san, and she does so; then, the nurse puts some alcohol in the wound, and Nagai-san doesn't react in any way whatsoever.

Is she a monster or what?!

The nurse then bandages Nagai-san's hand.

"You can rest here for a while," she tells Nagai-san, and she lies down on the stretcher.

"Open the door, Ino-chan; maybe Khanna-san and Okabe-san are waiting for you there."

I don't think so but, before I open the door, I sit in the stretcher, next to her, and:

"I'm… I'm sorry, Nagai-san," I say.

And she pats my back.

Harder.

AND HARDER.

"Ow, ow, I'm sorry, I won't bite you again! I won't bite anyone again!"

Nagai-san smiles.

"That's what I wanted to hear, Ino-chan," she laughs but keeps patting my back. "But what I don't get is why you were yelling at everyone there."

"It's their fault," I stand up and say: "they were staring at us and whispering to each other and laughing and recording everything on their phones."

"So?"

"What?! What do you mean by 'so'? Why do they care?! Why can't they leave us alone?!"

"Because you were yelling at them," she says and then smiles. "You know, Ino-chan, for someone who seems that doesn't care about what everyone think, you actually care a lot, don't you?"

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

"What?" Why is she saying that? "I just said THEY shouldn't care about what we do," or did I say I care about what they think? Because I don't. "You think I care?! I hope they all die!" And I hope they die ASAP so they can stop staring at us and whispering to each other and laughing at us. Are they mocking me? Are they mocking me because I look like a little girl? Is it?! "I've never done anything to them, but they only mock me! Yes, I just a fucking little girl, and I'm tiny and I'm flat as fuck, but it's not like I want this! Why do they care so much?! Why can't they accept that's how I am, and I'll probably never grow up and I'll be a fucking little girl forever?!"

Nagai-san stands up and hugs me.

I don't want her pity.

But I don't want her to get mad at me, though.

"Ino-chan," she says, "if you think being a women is just being tall and having boobs, then you're really a fucking little girl."

The nurse chuckles.

Oh, yes, the nurse's still here and she heard everything.

Fuck my life.

But why didn't she leave or something? Doesn't she know is rude to listen to someone else's conversation? Fucking nurse, why are people so nosy? Anyway, you know what? I'd better leave because that nurse bitch's mocking me, and everything's your fault, Nagai-san, for saying that lies; I'll never forgive you, and that's why I push her, I release myself from that hug, I turn around, run to the door, open it and Yuri Okabe and Khanna-san are there, sitting on the floor; what are they doing here? Are they waiting for me? Why? I'm fine. They're probably only waiting Nagai-san.

Or maybe they heard everything too and want to laugh at my face.

Mind your own business, you fucks.

Or maybe they're just waiting for me because they're my friends and they care about me and they were worried and they don't want to leave me alone with that beast called Nagai-san.

"Shut up: I'm not crying!" I yell.

"Well, if you're not crying, I guess I wasn't crying earlier, right?" Yuri Okabe asks with a sly grin.

"Yeah, no one was crying today." I say and then rub my eyes only because of the sunlight. "Who even said that?"

"You did," says Yuri Okabe, and why are you exposing me like that? Can't you see I'm on your side? "You were wrong."

"No, I didn't say anything," I say, "right, Khanna-san?"

But Khanna-san doesn't answer.

"Just say yes. What are you waiting for?" I ask.

But Khanna-san just shakes her head.

"If I don't answer I can't be wrong," she says. "That's the best—or, should I say, the only—thing I could do right now."

"Well, whatever," I shrug. "And why are you here, anyway? Were you waiting for Nagai-san? Or for me?"

Both Yuri Okabe and Khanna-san stay quiet.

I sigh annoyed.

"Just tell me. Khanna-san, it's ok if you tell me."

Khanna-san sighs annoyed too.

"Fine, I'll tell you: Yuri Okabe says the least thing she wants to do right now is lock herself in a classroom, surrounded by everyone else, after crying so hard—Yuri Okabe hits her lightly but disapprovingly on the back of her head. No, we were just listening what you said from here."

"What?!" I obviously yell. "You were listening to everything?! But why didn't you leave or something?! Don't you know is rude to listen to someone else's conversation?! Fuck off, why are you so nosy?!" I yell at them and close the door in their faces.

"I knew I should have stayed quiet," Khanna-san says from the outside.
