Chapter 20

Emerson's POV

I wasn't ready for this but I think she was right. We shouldn't have any secrets between us.

"She was Rose.. the girl whom I loved more than my life" I said and by the look of her face.. I think she wasn't ready to hear this

"She was my college love. You know... The time when we truly love someone. I loved her the same. My first ever love. I was planning to marry her. Yes... I was nineteen then. I even told my parents that I've Found a daughter in law for them .. I was that crazy for her" I was laughing in between and she looked at me with no emotion.

"It was thirty first December. There was a party in my place. Many of my friends were there.. she was there too.. I was planning to propose her that night for marrying me. You know Jenny.. I wanted to make her my wife. I.. I even bought a beautiful ring for her. It was a diamond ring with a small rose on it.. I kept the ring in my room and when I was ready to propose her Infront of everyone. I went to my room to get the ring and when I opened the door" I got quiet. Past memories made me.

"Then?" she whispered.

"I saw her lying on my bed.. making out with one of my close friends" he said. I said. My hold around her got tighter and voice could tell how much angry I was.

Her eyes got teary.

"She cheated me Jennifer. She cheated me with my own friend.. both of them started accusing each other and said they were innocent but I knew them now.. I threw them out of my place and never saw them again. I wasn't a Playboy always Jenny. I was a normal boy who believed in love. But after that. I became this." I said and she started crying.

"Babe why are you crying?" I said wiping her tears.

"I hate her" she said and kept crying.

I wiped her tears again and made her stop crying.

"Why do you still have her picture then?" she asked.

"To always remember who ruined me... But I threw it away now?"

"Why?" she asked.

"Coz I have my babe now" I said kissing her forehead and she smiled.

"I love you Jennifer.. please never do what she did to me"

"I love you more than anything Emerson. I can never do that to you" she said and it felt like a commitment more than a promise.

We were tired from the day so we slept in each other's arms.

Next day

Jennifer's POV

I woke up to the most gorgeous face. He was sleeping peacefully. His messy hair were covering his eyes and he was snoring lightly. He slept like a baby and looked cute that way. I quickly gave a small peck on his cheeks and got up to freshen up. I had a bath and he was still sleeping.

He sleeps a lot. May be that's why he's always late for work. I went to kitchen to make something but saw the maid already cooking.

"Good morning mam" she said when she looked at me and I wished her back.

"I thought I'll make something but you are already on it." I said

She smiled and offered me food.

"It's okay.. I'll have it with Emerson" I said.

"But Mam he gets up late .. " she said hesitating

"Don't worry.. he'll be here in ten minutes.. Ms.?

"It's Mrs Jones" she said .

"And Mrs Jones.. it's Jennifer for you" I said smiling and went to wake him up and found him still sleeping in the same position. I bent and admired his beautifully made face.

"Wake up babe" I whispered in his ear and he just gave a half smile.

I then kissed his cheek and smile grew bigger. "Do you want more babe?" I whispered again and he nodded.

I picked up the glass of water and sprinkled a few droplets on his face.

"Wtf Jenny.." he immediately got up and made an angry face.

"Aww babe .. I'm so sorry" I mocked him and ran downstairs. He followed me down and I tried not to get in his hands.

"You will have to pay for this" he was shouting and following me and I was running faster. We reached the living area and found Mrs. Jones placing breakfast on the table.

"I got him down Mrs. Jones... We'll have breakfast together... Right babe??" I said looking at him and he looked at me as if he's gonna kill me.

I went to him and he pulled me to him. "You played" he said holding my waist and my arms were around his head. "Ummmm..  yeah " I winked at him. He smiled.

Emerson's POV

After having breakfast together she got ready for work and even got me ready.

"Babe it's too early" I said while she was fixing my tie.

"We are half an hour late Emerson." she said.

"But I'm two hours Early"

"Shut up" she said and I rolled my eyes at her. She's a stubborn woman. She won't listen.

She was now making me wear the overcoat when my mobile rang.

"Hey Dad.. how are you" I asked.

"Fine Son.. it was nothing. How are you? And Jenny" he asked.

"We are fine Dad" I said kissing her and she gave an annoyed look.

"Did I woke you up early ?"

"Woke me up? Dad I've already had breakfast and i was getting ready for work" I said

"What?? Are you my son? Have I dialled the wrong number?"

"Stop acting Dad.. why did you call me?"

"I want you to come home now and bring Jennifer with you" he said

"We were going for work Dad"

"I know but you should come here first.." he said.

"Okay Dad... Coming " I said and he hung up.

"How is he?" asked Jennifer.

"Good. He wants us to meet him now."

"Now? But why? Is everything fine?" she asked. She looked a lil worried.

"Hope so" I said and we left.

She was tensed whole journey and I was trying to calm her down but I myself was worried what it could be.

We entered the place and were greeted by the staff there.

They showed us the way to the garden area where they were sitting. I saw them and froze seeing Nia and her parents there.

Jennifer felt the same and looked at me. I nodded at her and held her hand tightly. We went towards them and greeted them. Nia looked away when we greeted her and even her parents didn't looked very happy to see us.

Mom and Dad hugged me and Jenny and it relieved her a little.

"So son.. I told them everything about you and Jenny.. I did placed a condition before you that if you tell her about yourself and she still accepts you then.. then you can have her... And I think you fulfilled that condition." he said looking at Jennifer and she nodded at him.

"So gentleman... It was my fault" he said looking at Nia's father.

"I should've asked my son before fixing his marriage. I'm sorry for that.. he loves Jennifer and she does the same.. so we should cancel their wedding" he said pointing me and Nia.. a smile appeared on Jennifer and my face and my mom was also smiling..

They were quiet for a moment then her father started speaking.

"Though we are not very happy with this decision of yours because..  you are breaking your promise... But I also didn't wanted my daughter to get stuck in love less marriage."

"But Dad-"

"No Nia.. he did right" he said and they all got up. We got up too

Nia came towards us and faced me first. "I'm sorry for what I did. I wish you a happy life" she said and hugged me. I hugged her back.

"You'll always stay a good friend of mine" I said and she smiled. She then went to Jennifer and hugged her but she didn't hugged her back. She said something in her ear but I couldn't hear that.

They left and we relaxed a bit.

We went to the living room and mom and Jennifer were having their ladies talk and dad and I were talking business.

"Emerson.." mom called me and both me and dad went towards them.

"Both of us have liked Jennifer from the day we saw her for the first time" she looked at dad and he smiled.

"We always loved you as our daughter and here my son...is giving us a relation with you" she said.

"We are very happy for you both. This is just the start baby.. you'll face many obstacles. Many people would be there who'll try there best to separate you. You just have to stay together always.." she said placing her hands on our faces.

"You both always said that we are couple goals " she looked at dad and he bent and kissed her forehead.

"But it hasn't been easy fit us too.. we've faced a lot.. we even broke up once.. but at the end.. we are together."

I looked at Jennifer who was getting emotional. I pulled her to me and hugged her. "Our best wishes are with you" both mom and dad said.

Jennifer's POV

I wasn't expecting her to hug me but she did pulled me into a hug.. but what she did later... Shocked me.

"You think it's over? I'm gonna snatch him away from you and ruin you" she whispered in my ear and smiled Infront of everyone.

I froze there. What is she planning to do? Shall I tell Emerson about this? She made me worried.

After they left, both me and Emerson were spending some time with his parents. I've know them for long when I was his Dad's assistant. I really admired both of them and even sometimes said they are couple goals.

"Stay together always" his mother said and he pulled me into a hug. He might have seen me getting emotional.

He kissed my forehead and I smiled looking at him.

We stayed there till evening and took there leave early night.

The drive back to home was silent and this wasn't bad. Yeah he did kissed me frequently and I scolded him to focus on roads but my mind was still occupied by what Nia said.

When we reached home... I went to kitchen and helped Mrs Jones with dinner and Emerson went to freshen up. We had our dinner and he carried me back to room in his arms and then placed me lightly on the bed. He sat closer to me and cupped my face with his hands. "I know there's something troubling you babe... Please tell me what's that?" he asked

"I don't know I should tell you this or not.. I don't want to ruin your relationship with her." I said

"Say" he said.

"Emerson when Nia hugged me.. I wasn't expecting this from her.. but I thought it's good to have a new start but... When she hugged me.  She whispered.. she said that she'll snatch you away from me.. she will take you away Emerson. She will take you. I can't live without you" he calmed me down.

"I was sure something like this would come" he said.

"How?" I asked.

"Your smile faded when she hugged you and you looked worried. I knew there's something"

"I don't want to leave you in any condition" I said

"No one is leaving babe.. you remember what mom said? There can be people who won't let us stay together.. we will overcome everything." he said and kissed me.

"You are mine babe.. I want you to know that very well" he said and I smiled. He then kissed my lips and this kiss lead to many events that I haven't experienced before. He kissed my neck and then he was going down.

"Can I?" he asked with the most innocent look.

I nodded and he smiled like he won something.

He started removing his shirt and then my top slowly..  he then switched off the lights of the room.

"I've been waiting for this since long" he whispered.

"Same here" I answered back and I could feel him smile even in this darkness.
