><>Hazel's POV<><
I jogged for a while through the peaceful forest until I practically ran into a stone brick wall. I looked up and saw that the wall was about twenty blocks tall and had an overhang near the top so spiders couldn't climb over. I looked right to left and saw that the wall went on for a long while, but it was far from a straight line. I walked in the shade of the trees that paralleled the large walls. Their canopies were too short for someone to climb on top and jump over. As I walked, something stood out to me.
I saw some green and grey hidden under some bushes. As I looked closer I saw that it was one of the canon things Herobrine had said were placed around the city. And just on the other side of it, was the large arch door that lead inside the walled city. I made note of where the canon was in my head. Surprising that it was so close to the door yet no one else had seen it. Well, it was pretty well hidden. And the skeletons that stood around it just stared at me. I then walked over to the large gate. It was made out of both wood and obsidian.
"Hello!?" I called over the wall in the hopes that someone would hear me. Then I realized something after I called out. These people wouldn't believe I just appeared. And if they did they would wonder why and I would draw too much attention to myself that way. So right there I decided to think of a back-story that was simple, yet understandable. I decided to go with me having been raised on a farm near the edge of the map with my mom and dad until Herobrine destroyed everything. There! Simple, and relateable, right?
"Wassup newbie!. Ever heard of a doorbell before?!" A young snobby teenage boy, who looked only a year younger than me, asked from the top of the wall. He pointed down at a button on the door. The boy had dark red hair and brown eyes. And he wore an almost full set of iron armor accept for a helmet.
"Oh sorry, didn't see that!" I blushed at my own silliness.
"Don't worry about it! I'll open the door!" He said, and then he vanished behind the stone wall again. I waited a few seconds before hearing the door unlock several times and it slowly opened. When the doors opened enough for someone to walk through I walked up to them but was stopped at the gate by the same boy. "State your name and how you got here." He commanded of me. I gulped and remembered the story I had just made up.
"Um, Hazel. And I walked here from my destroyed farm near the edge of the map." I explained. Only a little worry showed on my face and I was surprised I wasn't sweating of stress or anything.
"Anyone come with you?" He asked, letting his face soften a little out of compassion.
"No.." I said quietly as I dropped my head.
"Oh." The boy replied simply. Then he opened the door a little wider and let me in. I walked in and was met with the sight of a beautiful peaceful village looking town. The buildings grew higher the closer they got to the center and in the center was a large building with a dome roof and several columns that heald it up.
"Woah." I gasped in amazement at the sight. We started walking along the stone road. Not a single building looked the same. All of the self-made by the person or people who lived in them.
"Yeah, I guess this place is pretty cool for some farm girl like yourself." The boy retarded. "Oh yeah!. My name is Alix btw." My face stiffened when I heard his name. I didn't feel like right then was the proper time but I just had to ask.
"Do you by any chance have an older sister named, Audrey?" Once I asked Alix stopped in his tracks. He slowly looked over his shoulder at me with a mixture of every emotion I could think of.
"I did." He said stiffly. "Why you ask?"
"Well, she told me to tell her younger brother something."
"How come? Couldn't she just tell me herself?" He asked as he looked me more in the eyes than before. I just looked at him silently for a few moments and his undecided expression finally decided on one of worry. "..Wh- what happened to her?" He finally asked. I looked at the floor and kicked and the stone under me softly.
"She, uuu.. she died..." I slowly told him. When I looked up I couldn't tell if Alix was sad or angry.
Finally, he mumbled under his breath, "She told me she would always protect me.." Then he quickly looked at me again with and question in his mouth. "How?" He asked quietly. The idea of it all was still sinking in.
"She- she was killed, by Herobrine." I answered truthfully. Alix's face was full of undecided rage and his fists shook as if they were begging to punch something. But he looked down and squeezed his eyes shut. Then opened them and just watched the ground.
"What did she want to tell me?" He asked after several seconds of silence. He continued to look at the ground.
"...She wanted to say she was sorry, f- for everything..." I told him. My eyed even watered up at the memory of her death. Alix looked up slightly and his expression softened. Finally, a tear fell from his eye as he stared at nothing in deep thought.
"I'm fine!" Alix told to himself more than to me as he wiped his eye and sniffed up any eager to fall tears. "Come on! The Inn is this way. I am sure Mrs. Parrot will allow you to stay for free since you are a refugee." He told me as we walked closer to a building. It looked like an old western inn right on the corner of the road. I followed Alix in and a lady I guessed was Mrs. Parrot took me in from there. After that long trip, all I really wanted was a nap. Zzzzzzzzzz...
