Lies

"Heads up, Hazel!" Don shouted. The warning gave me just enough time to barely miss the pixely ball flying at my face. I kind of did an awkward backward roll to avoid it but everyone seemed impressed for a moment. "Woah, cool!" Don was the only one to voice his thoughts. I was in the middle of yet another soccer game. And I had gotten at least a little better since the first time I played with them, which was about five days ago.

I had the biggest lump in my throat the whole time that only grew by the day. Herobrine would be attacking TOMORROW. That was the plan at least.

I shook myself out of my regret and stole the 'ball' from Jack. I raced with it towards the goal. Sarah and Anny, who were my teammates, cheered me on as they raced just behind me. I had a clear shot. But then-

"Hazel!?" I heard a familiar voice and fell over. It sounded JUST like Henry. Everyone either awwed or cheered when I could no longer score a goal. I quickly got up and looked in the direction of the voice. And who I saw made my jaw drop. I saw the familiar dark brown robe and young villager face of Henry. He looked at me not sure whether to be excited or terrified. I looked back at him the same way.

"H- H- Henry?" I shuddered as I took a step towards him. He then smiled and ran out onto the field and gave me the best hug a villager ever could.

"I knew it! You escaped Herobrine!" He exclaimed cheerfully. I fully tensed at the mention of that name. How would I keep it all a secret now?

"Wait, what is this about Herobrine?" Blue asked. I and Henry quickly left the hug and faced the confused group. Henry looked confused as well by the fact that they didn't know. Then I felt him suddenly realize I had kept it a secret probably so I could fit in better and saw his sorry face.

"Yeah, have you been lying to us?" Sarah asked inquisitively. I could only gulp nervously in response. Even Alix looked at me with a hint of worry in his eyes.

"W- w- well, I- I didn't want to tell anyone b- because I was w- w- worried ab- b- out how you all would react." I studdered worse than I ever had before in my life! Everyone just leaned in with questions on their faces.

"Like what?! What lies have you been hiding?!" Anny asked with mistrust that hurt me. They were more than allowed to not trust me. In fact, they shouldn't have trusted me at all. It was then that I decided to do what I knew not to do. I had to show them that canon and tell them about Herobrine's plan. I just had to!

"She worked for Herobrine!" Henry noticed my silence and stepped in. "She had helped him attack my village." He said in defeat as he thought his words through ahead of time. "But she didn't want to. And I could tell. She wanted out of doing evil as much as any normal person would.. She even spared my life when she had the chance to kill me and make Herobrine proud." When Henry said that everyone tilted their heads at me. I lowered my noggin as the truth was told.

"That is true. And I have to show you something. Herobrine is planning something and you guys deserve to know." I said as I began walking away, coaxing everyone to follow. They all looked at each other before nodding at once and following me. Once they followed I started running. So did they.

I ran towards the gates. A few tears pooled in my eyes. In a way, it hurt me to break the silent promise I had made to my uncle but I needed to choose a side. And I couldn't work for my uncle anymore, because he-, he was Herobrine. The monster of Minecraftia.

"Just outside the gates!" I announced to everyone. On the way, I had told them about the creeper canons and the little bits and pieces I knew about the plan.

We all squeezed our way through the large gate Alix cracked open for us and ran over towards the nearest canon. I saw the hidden skeletons and pulled out my bow to shoot them first. Everyone seemed surprised I had had a weapon on me the whole time but didn't really question it. I sniped the first two as I ran towards the three and killed the last one with my trusty dagger. I looked at the group as I was done. They looked back and forth between me and the partially hidden blocks under the leaves.

"Wow, Hazel. You have gotten pretty good since we last fought." Henry smiled. I smiled back and turned around so I could reveal the canon better to them. I almost fell back in surprise when I saw Herobrine himself scowling down at me not even a block away.

"I am honestly disappointed in you Hazel." He said in a hurt but angry tone. I gulped metaphoric lava as I stared into those glowing eyes of his.

"U- U- Uncle Herobrine.. I- I-.. This isn't what it looks like!" I trembled in fear.

"Uncle?!" Almost everyone who wasn't too petrified to speak asked.

"I had hoped that after all, I did for you, you would stand by me without hesitation. Clearly I was mistaken. At least it makes what I have planned easier on me." He growled. I began to back away in fear but stopped when a piercing needle penetrated my left shoulder, shooting out from the treetops. I looked up and saw none other than Daniel and Bruce with bows and tiny arrow looking things in their hands. They quickly shot my friends with the same things before I could say anything. My vision became blurry and it was hard to stand. I turned to my friends and saw their stances waver. Several tried to run but tripped over their own feet. And soon, all eight of us were out cold on the floor.
