"Hazel!... Hazel?!... Hazel wake up!!. I said, wake up!!!" My eyes flashed open to the sound of someone shouting. Once my mind was awake I was able to process the sounds as words. Words shouted by Sarah.
I pushed my head up off of the obsidian floor. Why was I on obsidian? The place I was in was really dark. Only one glowstone block shined on us all. But, where were the others? Where was I?
"Mmh, S- Sarah?" I said groggily as I began looking for her. I noticed that obsidian wasn't just under me, but all around me too. I was completely surrounded by a dome of obsidian. I began looking around wide-eyed at the place as I waited for a response.
"Hazel?! Over here, Hazel!" Alix shouted from the darkness around me. I turned towards the sound and squinted into the darkness. I had learned how to turn on night vision so pretty soon I was able to see around the whole room pretty easily. And what I saw was a human-shaped figure chained to the far wall of the dome. I focused harder and saw Alix's orangeish red hair and his blue or green eyes looking at me with worry in them.
I took a quick spin around the room and saw everyone chained to the wall as well, all of them evenly distributed around the place. And I was in the very center. I took a step and noticed my own two legs chained to the floor. I was not feeling too comfortable about this.
"Why didn't you tell us about Herobrine sooner?!" Sarah snapped. Several of the others reached in agreement. Sweat dripped from my forehead as I stressed over an answer. 'I may as well tell them the whole truth.' I inhaled a deep breath as I thought of what to say.
"I was a spy for him, okay?!" I half shouted in partial fear. Everyone gasped.
"B- but.. I thought you didn't like Herobrine." Henry said with worry and a hint of anger.
"I I don't!. But it wasn't like I could just tell him no and walk away!" I pleaded for them to understand. They at least looked like they were listening and caring about my words.
"But, you called him uncle!" Don brought up. I sighed in defeat as a response.
"...Yeah.. that is because he, is, my uncle.." I answered slowly. There were more gasps around me. "B- but, that doesn't make me care about him any more than you guys would." I said to bring them back to my side. Then we were all interrupted by a not so calming voice.
"Hhhh, Hazel, Hazel, Hazel.. You know it really does hurt to hear you say that.." Herobrine sighed in less of a hurt and more of a casual chit-chat tone. We all squeaked or yelped in shock when the new voice was heard. I looked more upwards in front of me and saw my uncle hovering down to the ground. He was still partially transparent from having just been invisible.
"Herobrine?!" I squealed quietly.
"Hmm, dropped the 'Uncle' I see.. You know, it really was going to be hard for me to go through with my plan it-really-was. Fortunately however you saying that has really helped ease the guilt off my shoulders." He said in a chillingly cold tone that made me shiver. Herobrine hovered down to the ground and stood just a few pixels in front of me with a villainous smirk on his face. I drew my iron dagger and pointed it upward at him. His smirk only grew, however. "Heh! You might not like me, but I know you won't kill me. Especially after I saved your life, I could now say more than once." He smiled. The dagger shook in my hand as memories replaced the urge to do something. "But, of course, I could be wrong.. Why don't you prove to everyone whose side you really are on? Right here, right now." Herobrine said as he stepped back only a pixel and put his hands up a little at his side to show no weapons and to hint that he was going to simply let me stab him if I wanted to. The cocky smile on his face taunted me with the belief that I wouldn't budge.
My mind raced. I had to figure out what kind of test this was. Was there some punishment of some kind? What had he meant earlier if now all he was doing was standing there in front of me? Would my friends really trust me if I showed them right there that I was not on my uncle's side?.. What would my dad do if he were in this situation? Would he have taken the chance, or would he drop his weapon and walk away?
I looked at my friends. They all urged on with their faces for me to stab him. But, a part of me didn't want to. I hated to think about Herobrine being right, but it seemed as if he really knew from the start that I, wouldn't be able to hurt him.
Finally, the dagger dropped from my hand and the sound of it hitting the floor echoed all around the obsidian room. My face was pale with the overwhelming amount of thoughts fighting for a turn to be listened to.
"Good girl." Herobrine chuckled with a winner's smile. He then stepped away and looked at the audience around us. They were all speechless, looking mainly at me with wide eyes. I just looked down at the floor as Herobrine walked around me, looking not at me but my at friends lining the edge of the room. He smiled at each and every one of them. Then, he finally spoke.
"Ladies and gentlemen of the next generation, I welcome you all, to witness in person the destruction of the world you love so much." He announced with a sinister smile. Everyone but me gasped at his claim.
"In your dreams Herobrine!" Jack protested. "We will kill you and your whole army if we have to!" The others agreed with him. Herobrine then smirked.
"Oh, but unlike you, I have a weapon sure to seal all of your fates!" Herobrine told everyone. He had not a single hint of fear as he looked at the worrying faces all around. My eyes widened when I remembered the time when he showed me that ultra weapon, or whatever it was called.
"You finished the doomsday device?!" I jumped and looked at my uncle with that question. I had no idea why I decided to call it that but I was sure he would understand what I was talking about.
"Oh Hazel.. Little, innocent, Hazel.." Herobrine teased, cockiness in everything about him. "I finished the 'doomsday device' 15 years ago, on the day of your birth." He said. I just tilted my head in confusion. Herobrine knew I would be confused, so he was kind enough to explain. "Remember when I told you I had held you after you were born?. Well little did even your father know that right then I gave you just little to half my own powers.. I knew you would eventually join me anyways so I didn't see it as a waste. That, combined with the powers handed down from your father, and you are truly a being to be feared. Dear young Hazel, you have been the weapon all along." ..All I could do was shake in fear as more thoughts filled my head. 'HOW?!?' I just couldn't believe it.
"Wait, waaaa?" Anny wowed. I could no longer keep track of my own mind so I just looked to everyone for help in some way. They looked almost as confused as I was, however.
"Anyway!" Herobrine said as he looked down at his wrist as if checking the watch he didn't even have. "I say it is finally time we get to the world destruction part."
"No way! I will never help you!" I told Herobrine with a very determined facial expression. Herobrine just smirked once again as if he knew I would say that.
"That is why I have put this plan into play. You didn't seriously think I would just skip the most important step, did you?" He then froze for a moment. The freeze seemed unnatural and he was still for a second or two as if someone had just pressed pause. Crimson red particles began emitting from his skin and he started moving again. His eyes glowed a little brighter as he looked directly into my eyes. I couldn't move. I couldn't make a sound. I couldn't even look away or blink. I was doomed.
