When the plan was made, and we all had everything we needed, I flew up to confront Herobrine. He was still destroying the other side if the city when I got there, not even noticing I had swapped sides since he last saw me. Herobrine then looked slightly up at me with a smile that just told everyone, he knew he was winning. But once he saw me, his smile dropped.
"Hazel?" He spoke.
"Enough of this! I refuse to help you! You might have saved me, but I won't kill the innocent for any savior!" I spat, not literally. :>
"No.." Herobrine glowed so low it almost sounded like he had the voice of a wolf. "Hazel! Join my side, or I will have to soul control you again!!" He threatened, but I could see that deep down, he really didn't want to do that.
"Fite me!!" I challenged. (And yes, I know I spelt 'fight' wrong)
Herobrine looked at me with a spiteful gaze as he flew up to my level. When he was looking me directly in the eyes I only stared back with just as much intensity. Then Herobrine began to speak. It was a language unknown own to the mind. Only the soul understands it. And that was how Herobrine had controlled me the first time. As he spoke I felt my mind fog, and I realized I couldn't just stand there.
"Now!!!" I shouted. Arrows then flew up at Herobrine. He quickened his speech as they got closer. Then, I found myself holding my hands out and stopping the arrows in their tracks, and then sending them down on the ones who shot them. 'No! How?!' 'I told you I was evil.' My dark side returned. I needed to stop this before I was fully controlled. So, I decided to try out speaking in this soul language. I spoke what I hoped would counter Herobrine's speech. And immediately I could see it working. My mind cleared up and I saw Herobrine's face fade into worry.
'Oh no.' He thought.
'Oh, yaas.' I thought.
It turned into a battle of the voices. As one began speaking stronger, the other rose to match it. After just about ten seconds of this, which to me felt more like an hour, I felt myself finally.. free. And I could see it in my uncle's eyes, he knew I had won.
Once that was over with, the real fight began. I shot a golden beam of energy straight at Herobrine. He barely had enough time to mentally recover and dodge my attack. He then drew his sword and flew himself at me. I drew my now normal diamond sword and blocked. I spun back around to kick him but he caught my foot and flung me away. As I was still being flung away, Herobrine rammed into me. I recovered quickly and flew at him with my entire body covered in fire. I didn't let Herobrine dodge as I punched him several times while flying at a high speed. Every punch gave him a burn mark on his skin. The last punch sent him to the ground and a shockwave shook several buildings around where he landed.
Herobrine slowly got up and his burns faded thanks to his quick healing abilities. My bruises healed pretty quickly too. Herobrine looked up at me with a scowl and flew up at me again, grabbed me, and rammed me into the ground. That hurt. Once I shot up I pulled out my sword and we both slashed at eachother mercilessly. Our swords a blur. Then I swung a kick at him and caught him off guard. To return the favor he punched me in the face. Then the fight continued in the air. We both teleported and swung at eachother when our paths crossed. We even used fire to burn the other. Long story short, the battle was long and tiring. And we both were beginning to weaken.
After a long five or six minutes of restless fighting me and Herobrine just stood on the broken street only about ten blocks away from eachother, panting.
"Yh-.. you done yet?." Herobrine panted as he looked back up at me.
"Wh-.. what do you... mean?.. I could... do this till eternity.." I panted as well. Herobrine just smiled at me.
"That's.. the Hazel I.. know." He smiled. I smiled weakly back but wondered why the odd change from just a minute ago.
"Why... the sudden change.. in opinion?" I asked
"I always loved you.. seeing you under control was... just sad." He told me.
"You only cared about my powers." I scowled. Herobrine just looked sad at that.
"..I am sorry if I made it seem that way.. I just hoped you would be on my side, and that your father would come here if I had you."
"So you could kill him." I said with a distrusting growl.
"No, not really... I kept telling myself, over, and over, and over, again that I was doing all of this for revenge. That I was doing this to make a point... But, now that I think about it, that wasn't my reason... The truth is, and this is the first time I am even saying this to myself: The truth is, I just wanted to know if my little brother was okay, that after all this time, he stayed tough and fought against all odds... To tell the truth, I just wanted to know I hadn't failed him..." -Herobrine. I simply replayed his words in my head not knowing what to even think about.
"Then why did you become evil and try to kill him even though you 'loved' him." I interrogated.
"Deception..... Similar to how I lied to you, in a way..." He sighed.
"...Herobrine?.." I asked quietly.
"Yeah?"
"Can, you be good? Not evil?" I asked. The question seemed a little silly, but I couldn't think of another way to word it.
"..I don't know.. I have destroyed so much already, killed so many.. No one would forgive me..." Herobrine sighed with deep regret in his eyes.
"...I would forgive you.. That's a start. Right?" I. Herobrine looked up at me with disbelief.
"Y- you would?.. How?" He asked.
"Simple," I smiled slightly, "I think of all the times you were kind instead of evil."
Herobrine then stared at nothing as he thought. "Deal." He addressed me with a smile. "I'll be good.. as long as you promise to at least consider forgiving me." He then stuck out his hand for a Minecraft handshake.
"Deal." I said with a smile as I grabbed his hand and shook it firmly. Herobrine suddenly looked so happy, like suddenly something he hadn't even realized was there had been lifted off his shoulders. The burden of being evil.
"-Awwww, so sweet. The broken bunch of misfits teaming up.. How cute.. Well, just know that even right now, even together, you stand no chance against me.." A deep robotic voice smoothly echoed through the half-destroyed city.
"Who is that?! Who is there?! Show yourself!!" Herobrine ordered as he looked up into the sky where he guessed the voice was coming from. I- I recognized that voice.. It was the same one who had tried to mind control me!
"You know me like the back of your hand, and also have no idea who I am at the same time..." The voice said smoothly. Then, a black cloud manifested above us. Beams of light struck the ground and picked up blocks, making the cloud even bigger. The people who had just left their underground shelters to see if everything was okay screamed in the distance as they saw the midnight black cloud. Fully white glowing eyes revealed themselves through the darkness; a pair of two, like Herobrine's, but far scarier.
"It is the one who took control of Audrey and tried to control me!" I squealed. Herobrine looked at me with a fear-stricken face.
"Hazel! He must be after you! Come on!" My uncle then grabbed my hand and flew up, but as far from the terrifying cloud as possible, and flew out where the sun was still shining.
"..Oh, a game of tag.. I love this game.." The voice hissed when the large eyes in the cloud turned to us. Then the entire being began floating after us. Both me and Herobrine were really tired after that big battle. Had he waited for a time like that just so he would have the advantage? It would sure make sense. Either way it went, Herobrine flew at top speed away from the new enemy until he got really tired, then I took a short but helpful turn until I got tired. Since Herobrine was still much more experienced than me, he could last quite a bit longer than me. And now that we were on the same side, I could admit that to myself.
That little on and off cycle of trying to fly away just continued on for about three days. And the dark cloud.. was gaining.
