Jet Carlisle, a cynical young man, is one of the unfortunate few who could hear it. But something troublesome attached herself to him. Though there might be something more to the pesky girl than meets the eye. 

And Jet would find out whether he wanted to or not.

CHAPTER FIFTY-SIX

Leto exited her boss's office with a nod. With a tired expression on her face, she started to walk back towards her laboratory. Despite that she disliked talking to her boss; she couldn't escape her responsibility of reporting to him every morning about her current experiments with Alice Slade. After all, he was the one giving her the funds she needed. So, as long as she hasn't discovered what there is to discover, she was willing to leech over him for it.

Leto put her ID up in the door scanner and it turned green. She entered her laboratory where her two assistants were still hard at work. The two of them looked up momentarily at her entrance and greeted her but other than that, none of them stopped their fingers from flying across their keyboards.

"How's the subject?" Leto asked as she walked towards the end of the room where her table was placed. "Are there any particular changes?"
