John

"I'll look around the chapel, and you check the bathrooms." She said to Jayden and he nodded. They both ran away. She could hear protests as if letting the staff find him, but she couldn't. She knew how John was looked down upon because of his condition but it wasn't his fault. Not to mention It felt very wrong and she just wanted to know one thing.

Where is John?

She ran towards the entryway of the chapel and Jayden ran towards the Winchester tower. Behind her, she heard a pair of footsteps. Her brother George was running with her as well. "We'll find him, nothing will happen," he said. She could just grimly nod but was glad to hear that Bertie didn't stammer. She was glad he was growing up.

Her parents have been too harsh in the training department and that was the reason that David was drawing back and Bertie had a speech impediment that caused him to stammer very badly in the public. Whenever that happened they yelled at Bertie causing him to have even more broken self-confidence. Those two were not bad people but they had very high expectations. One that their children couldn't fulfil and that was: being perfect.

Near one of the seats was john. He was laying on the ground convulsing. Isobel quickly ran towards him and sank to the ground. Her baby brother was having an epileptic seizure and barely breathing. She quickly laid him on the ground and opened his mouth to aid his breathing.

'Jay! I found him! He's in the chapel having a seizure!'

'I'll be there in a moment.'

'Bring a cousin or something. We need something to slightly alleviate him.'

'On it.' he replied.

She turned to George who was looking at his brother with a wide eye. "Bertie." He didn't listen. "Bertie!'' this time she pressed even more. This finally made him snap out of his thoughts.

He turned to face Isobel with a baffled look. He didn't know what he was supposed to do. He was frozen in shock.

"Bertie, we need medical assistance for him. Bertie can you hear me?" she asked. George nodded unsurely.

That was the time when Jayden came running with a pillow in his hand. She quickly took the pillow on the side of John's head to make his breathing a bit better.

"Bertie. We need to give him medical assistance! Jayden goes with him and asks for a healer or a doctor or whatever. Jayden was quickly on his feet and grabbed George as well. Pulling him out.

'Do you know if Mary knows anything about an EpiPen?'

'It's 1910 jay. Epipens haven't been invented. Bring someone and they'll give him some bromide salts. It won't help much but it will help. We need to get him breathing properly. He isn't going to die for the next 9 years.'

'You know you really don't help the case sometimes.'

With that, the link went silent. She knew she didn't but she was just stating facts here. There was no hope in lies, they always, always backfire.

She looked at John and he was clawing at his throat. She quickly pulled his hand down. You aren't supposed to hold the person having a seizure down but it was either this or have John choke himself. She looked at John sadly. The small boy had epilepsy in an era where there were not many medical advancements for the case and people thought it was demonic possession. Her expression turned even grimmer when she remembered that John dies of a severe seizure when he's thirteen.

Sometimes knowing the future wasn't the best.

People always hope to see what happens in the future or if they can know anything about it in their fortune cards or their horoscope. She didn't want something like that if it would show us things like the death of people close to them.

Not that she could because the future was too fluid but even then she wouldn't. Life isn't made up of happy things. If she'll see ahead she'll see the bad things too. She wanted to remain blissfully ignorant till she can and face the things when they face her.

She looked around and saw a bat hanging on the window. It was too bright outside. She didn't understand what it was doing there.

As if sensing her gaze the bat flew away but something about the bat made a shiver run down her spine.

That very moment both of her brothers ran in with a doctor in tow. Bertie was carrying an oxygen cylinder too. The doctor quickly put the oxygen mask on him connected to the portable cylinder. She was glad they wouldn't have to take him to the hospital for oxygen. He quickly filled his injection with a small amount of brownish-red liquid and injected john. She was right. After a minute that felt like an eternity, John stopped convulsing.

She took in a deep breath and stood on her feet and hugged both of her brothers. This was one hell of a day.

Their parents came in at that time and she wanted to sneer at them. Just where were they when their son was almost dying?

George whispered in their ear, "I'll deal with them." and Isobel gave him a grateful smile. She really appreciated it because she was afraid that she would hit them and get the real Mary in trouble. Jayden gave him a reassuring squeeze and clapped him on the back. Bertie grinned back at him and walked towards their parents.

Isobel leaned against the pew and sighed and Jayden followed her suit. The doctor called his assistants and they were locating John to a bedroom. Good decision. Her brother was laying on the uncomfortable floor. Just the second john was out their mark started to tingle and the taste of blood was in their mouth.

It was time to go.

Isobel and Jayden quickly shut down Alex and Eli. Jayden took her hand and ran out of the chapel to the nearest room and they felt the same squeezing and stretching sensation. With that, they were teleported again. They were teleported to Alasdair, to their own universe. She had to ask Alasdair a lot of things but don't think even for a second she didn't notice...

...The tear stains on Jayden's face.
