I caught Hauria's gaze and a faint smirk was plastered on her face which unnerved me.

"I suppose it should teach them a lesson. But I still have to punish you Prince Wei. I know you are still adjusting to the culture here in Chang'an after being away in the battlefield for a long time but I hope you will act prudently next time."

'Next time? Is he actually glad I did what I did?' I wondered.

I thought he was only scolding me for formality as well. And with such actions, I could definitely tell something was fishy.

"Once you step out of here you will kneel in front of the ancestral hall 'til sunrise with no dinner. Am I understood?"

"Yes father. I accept the punishment." I bowed as per the custom.
