George entered the valley between the mountains and tensed up, the air seemed...different. There was a solemn atmosphere that alerted him. The mist coming down from the mountains made it even harder for him so see what was around him, he felt vulnerable.
'No one said it would be easy...' He could have gone after other beasts in other regions, he saw some that aroused his interest but he was determined to walk down the path of a Dragon Trainer, like he always did in his Pokemon games.
George walked carefully through the mist until he arrived at the end of the valley. He gasped for air when he saw the terrain in front of him.
A few volcanoes had smoke rising from them, showing that they were active. The land was barren and filled with lava around them. There was a forest further to the right, with trees that were bigger than any tree he had seen before...
George turned left and saw a big lake in the distance that seemed to shine under the sun...
That was what he could see from his higher position, the other regions were too far away for him to recognize.
'I have three choices...volcanoes, the strange forest or the lake...'
He looked around to find a way to go down because there was nothing that led down...
George sighed, taking off the upper part of his Adidas tracksuit and binding it to his hip.
He looked down from the edge, planning how to climb down the rocks.
'Alright, it is possible...' Thought George as he decided which spot to use to descend.
He took carefully one step after another, holding onto the rocks.
George began slowly to descend, and he couldn't help but gulp hard when he saw how deep it was...
"Damn..." Cursed George as he tensed, his heart racing.
It took him almost a full hour until he jumped down on the ground. His legs gave in and he fell on his butt, sweating heavy. He had been totally focused to not slip up and fall to his death. The mental pressure affected him, spreading all over to his body when he finally relaxed
'I finally made it...I will never do that again...' He was curious if he could truly die in this place but he didn't want to take the risk to find out.
He looked towards the volcanoes while leaning against the rocks behind him.
'I will first rest until I calm down.' Decided George who felt the hot air slam into his face.
He observed the new terrain around him, frowning at the lack of beasts. Every region he passed had countless beasts roaming but this place seemed devoid of any life beside the active volcanoes and the slowly flowing lava.
George stood up when he felt that his body had recovered enough, looking down at his comfortable Adidas sport shoes, 'They should be able to hold on here...'
He walked between the hot lava streams, jumping over the smaller ones. George wiped the sweat from his face with his shirt, feeling like he was being slowly cooked.
He never let his guard down despite the place being devoid of life.
His eyes darted from the right to the left and he stopped walking, looking around himself.
"Sh*t!" Cursed George, wiping away the sweat again with his shirt.
"You guys can stop hiding, I know you are here!" Shouted George suddenly.
He took a deep breath, staring at the streams of lava around him.
There was no reaction to his shout first but he squinted his eyes when he saw many black horns slowly stick out from the lava, then it weren't black horns but many pairs of cruel red draconic eyes staring back at him.
He smiled nervously, feeling glad that he found dragons but worried at the same time about their numbers.
The dragons came out from the lava, showing their full appearance. They were covered completely in black scales with two iconic black horns sticking out from their heads. They had large throats with long tails. The only thing that they were missing were wings on their backs. They were bigger than any beast he had seen before while standing on their four legs, almost reaching to his chest and they would be taller than him if they stood up on their hind legs...
Those dragons looked very ferocious, growling threatening at him but no one of them showed any intention to attack him.
'A total of 17, they are clearly hostile but the way they keep standing there...As if they are waiting for something?' His question was answered when another black dragon came out from the lava stream, bigger and more ferocious looking than the rest of them.
George stared at it and so did the rest of the black dragons, 'They were waiting for their leader, the alpha...If this is the beginner zone and all the beasts are in their infant state...How big would they become once they mature?'
The alpha dragon eyed him with its brutal looking pair of red draconic eyes.
George lifted his arms into the air, "I come in peace, I'm a Dragon Trainer from a far away place and came here to ask if any of you is interested to become my partner to become stronger!" Shouted George while observing their reactions and every movement intensely. He wasn't very optimistic to convince them with words alone but he wanted to give it a try...
The group of dragons looked at him blankly while the alpha dragon at the front snorted.
It roared at him, "F*ck!" Cursed George again when he saw the group of dragons immediately pounce at him.
They tried to bite him with their vicious looking fangs or rip him apart with their claws but George managed to dodge them skillfully, it wasn't his first rodeo.
His dark eyes kept darting from one side to another, catching all their movements just in time for him to avoid most of them.
Time seemed to slow down in his eyes as he focused on the dragons, he saw an opening and gave a dragon an uppercut to its jaw.
George hissed in pain, quickly pulling back before jumping over a lava stream to put some distance between him and the group of mad dragons.
He looked down at his right fist, gritting his teeth. The skin on the part of his knuckles that he used to give the dragon an uppercut was badly burned and he saw bubbles forming on it.
The dragons stopped their attacks, looking surprised at George and the dragon that got hit by him. It was staring at him in anger. It wasn't really hurt by his strike but instead angry at the fact that George managed to hit it.
'This won't work...I'm weaker than them and they are 17...' Thought George as he took off his shirt to wrap it around his burned hand, revealing his well trained body.
The alpha dragon also showed a surprised look in its eyes. It thought that he would be ripped apart in no time...
George looked at the alpha dragon towering at the back, "Is that all you guys can do? I'm alone and still managed to beat them. Are you as weak as them too? I could beat you one-on-one with ease!"
His mocking words triggered the group of black dragons as they roared madly at him, they wanted to pounce at him again but the alpha at the back roared, causing the group of dragons to flinch and step aside.
It stepped forwards glaring at Lewis arrogantly.
He sighed mentally, 'Just as I thought, they can understand every word I say...this is my only chance!'
