"In the afterlife?" He asked.
"What..." Bonnie suddenly replied.
"You don't have parents, orphan," Acelen said.
"Who do you take me for?"
Right. Of course he knew, he knows too much.
"That's.." Bonnie started.
"What? Cruel?" He said. A little laugh escaped his lips as Bonnie glared in response.
'He could try to sugarcoat it at least. But it's not like I'm going to fret. I never had any real connection with my parents. I only know what I was told' Bonnie thought.
Acelen tapped his foot in displeasure as she ignore his taunting response. The blatant look on his face had said enough.
"Nonetheless, You aren't going back to that orphanage." He started, "What does that place have to offer for you anyway?"
That caught Bonnie's attention. Only because he was right. What does it have to offer? Mistreatment and unhappiness? Bonnie sighed in response as she relaxed back on her bed.
"Later the maids will retrieve you for dinner," Acelen said while gesturing to the decorative clock hung on Bonnie's wall that struck 7:30 pm.
"Be ready. This room was prepared for you while you were asleep and healing. It has everything you need."
"Mm. Okay." Said Bonnie as she nodded her head in a numbing sort of way.
Acelen smiled at the obedience and snapped his fingers.
In an instant he disappeared. Bonnie shot her eyes up in disbelief.
'No way. No way. I must be hallucinating. He's— gone?' She thought.
'He can't be serious about being a va....vampire..' she continued.
A look of questioning quickly filled her face as she tried to explain the matter in any humane way, and came up with nothing.
'This is gonna be some adventure.' Bonnie caught herself thinking.
...
Later, the maids came to retrieve Bonnie, as he said they would. They brought Bonnie to where they'd be having their last meal of the day. Bonnie had decided to wear a yellow sundress that was already bought for her to wear. Brown sandals accompanied it as it looked as if it was flowing down her hips. Well, at least Bonnie had felt that's how it was portrayed.
Her attire looked completely opposite of the mansions 'style', so she had immediately regretted wearing it once she left her room. Her room mislead her thoughts for a moment, so when she had left her room she had realized that her room was very different from the mansion.
But to Bonnie's surprise, she caught Acelen looking at her dress, not once, or twice, but three times?! And yes, she had counted.
It was nothing but a mere add-on to the many things that confused her about him. Like the fact that.. he...
Well, he insisted, that he was a vampire. That's right, Bonnie had her mind set on the fact that he was in fact NOT a vampire, and that it was a myth to scare her. But the thought of him caused a mini chibi version of Acelen to appear in Bonnie's head, him with a cape and tape on vampire teeth insisting that he was a vampire. The mental scene was so hilarious, it caused her to choke on her rice.
She covered her mouth in reflex while she tried to gulp her rice back down and keep her laugh in her throat when Acelen spoke.
"Is there something...bothering you?" He steadily said.
Bonnie was shocked that he had caught on but in reality Acelen knew before she herself knew. He realized when her heartbeat had picked up slightly in spead, letting him know that she found something to be amusing. But he just didn't know what.
Bonnie just stared at him wide-eyed before she swallowed and attempted to speak.
"Ah, no. I just... found the food delicious." She said, which was true but it wasn't the exact truth that Acelen was looking for.
And somehow, deep down Bonnie knew this.
"Do tell." He continued. He was persistent and that was obvious. Yet she still tried to lie.
"I told you already. What I said, it's the truth!" She said, trying to be as convincing as she could possibly be. The disbelief was clearly shown on Acelen's face. But then again, he didn't expect the truth. Her lie just caused herself to get stuck in his trap. And now she was sinking. He was enjoying this.
On Bonnie's face it was evident that she was lying. Yet she thought he believed her with some false hope deep within her soul. truth is, Bonnie's excellent when it comes to reading expressions. And it was obvious that Acelen wasn't believing a word that came from her mouth.
Acelens cold, dead eyes actually looked to have shimmered in the faint moonlight shining through the window. The moonlight mixing in with his heterchromic red eye was a sight to see, almost mesmerizing, if she wasn't in this nerve wracking situation.
He was still staring at her like he had been the entire time since she was served her food. He also wasn't eating anything. Just intently staring at her.
"Won't you....eat?" Bonnie said to break the silence.
His gaze didn't waver but instead the smirk on his face grew slightly. "Eat?"
Bonnie nodded her head.
He took a moment, but like usual, after followed his reply.
"Do you think vampires enjoy eating food made for humans?" He asked.
His words made the chibi image take its place in her mind once again. She ended up laughing out loud, but quickly covered her mouth and hushed herself after realization.
She uncovered her eyes and mouth to look back up at Acelen when
He was gone?
No seriously, where is he? Bonnie was darting her eyes all around the dining room when all off a sudden she felt a strong presence behind her. Quickly, she turned around and saw
absolutely nothing?
"Ace-..Acelen?" Bonnie said as she stood up and placed her hands on the table.
Acelen had just made himself invisible to the naked human eye. With any special technology, Bonnie couldn't see him. He was honestly loving this. A rare natural smile was even starting to form as he watched Bonnie look for him in plain sight. He then slowly made his way over to behind bonnie when she arose.
Quietly, he walked closer to her, to where his chin was hovering over her shoulder. He made himself visible again and spoke, his voice was close to sounding like a smooth humming.
"The only food I'd actually enjoy... is right here." He said as he slickly and swiftly ran his tongue across the crook of her neck. It sent shivers through her body almost immediately.
She was so shocked that she couldn't possibly say anything. Not a word could make her muster up the courage to say anything. Reflexively she swatted her neck as her face shot to pink.
He must be insane-
She looked at Acelen who had suddenly turned his head to meet her eyes as he assumed she was going to speak. Curiosity was in his eyes as to her reply.
Since she didn't do anything but stare into his eyes, he spoke, yet again. This time hoping to get a reaction.
"I wonder... when will I take a bite?" He pretended to question himself as she listened in.
"Ta-Take a bite?! Are you into cannibalism?!" she shouted.
He took a deep calming breathe in as he readied himself to dumb down the topic. He was still bent slightly at the hip, and his chin was still slightly cast over her shoulder.
"I'm a vampire. Believe me 'cause soon it won't be too easy on you darling." He said.
'Right..' Bonnie thought.
"Well then, I have news."
