Dangerous offering

"Please, take my blood."

Acelen stood stiffly as the words replayed in his head. Bonnie held out her wrist in Acelen's direction which his glance had now landed on her veins. He stared as they worked to pump her blood. It only meant to be a short glance, but it had now turned into a gaze.

He forcefully averted his eyes.

"I shouldn't." He said while covering his mouth with the back of his hand. He was obviously blushing at her generous offer. He couldn't help but think how the 'gods' are laughing at his foolishness.

Bonnie stood to meet his height (or at least attempt to) and leaned in his view so he could see how set she was on offering his blood.

"Acelen. I'm being serious about this," Bonnie said as Acelen focused his eyes on her. "I really don't know why, but I don't want you to die. So please... accept my blood."

Acelen had no words. None at all. He just stared at her as she continued to render him speechless. Once she was done talking, he thought about how she had asked him politely to continue to live, basically for her sake! He thought about how he didn't really want to do this... but if she'd asked for it then maybe it was okay?

Swiftly, he grabbed her wrist and pulled her in close enough for his canines to make contact with the crook of her neck. In an instant, he'd started interrupting her blood flow and carefully and effortlessly drinking her blood.

Although Bonnie was offering her wrist, she didn't mind that he'd taken her neck. It was traditional just like the stories. 'As long as he was eating.' she thought.

It'd been about one minute since Acelen started drinking her blood. Bonnie had already started to feel dizzy but she thought that this was just a side effect. Then,

She passed out.

Acelen had noticed that she'd suddenly gone limp in his arms. He quickly stopped drinking and licked the wound so it'd heal and not bleed any longer. He didn't realize how long he'd been drinking and he instantly regretted it.

It's just that, the flavor of her blood was most delight... he yearned to have more. But he's well aware that now he mustn't. In a panic, he snapped his fingers and teleported back home to his mansion, without saying goodbye or even letting anyone know about their bags.

However, Lydia could smell the delight in the air. She was aware of their absence as well as that sharp smirk grew on her face. Lydia was no fool.

His worry overgrew him and he rushed to his infirmary to hand her over to his doctor. The doctor expected his presence by scent and happily took the girl in his care.

Acelen couldn't help but bystand since he knew nothing about the medical field. He sighed deeply before he left the room.

...

Two days have passed.

Two days since Bonnie last awoke. 48 hours since she'd been brought here. 2,880 minutes that Acelen has stood by her side. 172,800 seconds he's had to wait.

He couldn't help but think, 'Why am I waiting? What am I waiting for?'

As he was beginning to get lost in thought, Bonnie suddenly opened her eyes. She was staring at him for a bit as he rendered speechless yet again. Then a small smile grew on her face when she came to her senses.

Although she could've concluded what happened, Acelen profusely insisted that he tell her what'd happened and to apologize. She couldn't help but smile since he had finally eaten something balanced.

After a short while, she noticed unexpectedly that he was still here. Wasn't he busy? 'Maybe he's still hungry?' she thought.

"Do you want more? I have plenty to spare," Bonnie said as she held her wrist out yet again. This time, Acelen knew better. His eyes didn't focus on her wrist at all. His self-control was back and better than ever.

Instead, he muffled her with a huge pillow and spoke.

"You have 'plenty' to spare? That's not true. Your frail body could barely handle 2 minutes of my feeding. Yet you have 'plenty' to spare."

Bonnie just stared back at him expectingly. 'Is this a personal attack?' she thought. "But it's true-"

"Goodbye, get some rest. I'll see you later." Acelen nonchalantly said, ignoring her response. He honestly couldn't believe her right now. Anyway, he had more important matters to attend to than entertaining her mindless babble. 'She must be woozy because of the meds.' he thought.

Oddly, she started to miss his presence, which she was just questioning a moment ago. That's weird.

And then, there were two. Or three?

Depending on if you count the folk that just arrived.
