Inside

After the explosion, the Fallen was now forever part of the foundation of the apartment building. The squad members were still alive, and they hoisted Metro to the backdoor, and rested him against the cold metal wall.

Metro discreetly looked at his watch. It had advanced by 3 more hours, which gave indication to how powerful the Fallen was.

"Huh... the Fallen wasn't killed by me. So why did the Death Clock give me more time again?" Metro wasn't going to complain, but he was starting to find inconsistencies in the way that it worked.

"As the backdoor was locked by the driver," a squad member tried to make small talk by asking, "How did you survive the Fallen? Isn't it too suspicious?" Metro smiled under his gas mask. He had already spun a story for them to analyse.

"You see, I was monitoring the entrance of the apartment building, looking for any danger that might come from outside. Then, they told everyone to enter the basement all at once! Of course, I still looked after the entrance." Metro looked down and sighed with regret. "If only I..."

"Don't worry man, it's all in the past now. Who would have thought a Fallen would be created by a captain of the clean up branch?" Metro's acting elicited sympathy from the squad members around him.

Then, there was an awkward silence that hung in the air. All of them also lowered their heads and started thinking about something. Meanwhile, Metro was starting to worry.

"Wait, I will need to remove the gas mask at the Light Church right? Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit!" Alarm bells were ringing for Metro, which made his toes shake intensely. He had not thought so far into his plan.

"I can't depend on my skills for everything after all. Wait, wait, wait, the Abyssal Eye! I'm so dumb, haha!" It was only when they started to open the backdoor of the van when Metro finally realised his foolishness.

"Whew. It is good to be back." When Metro saw the outside of the van, it was completely pitch black. He could not smell anything, as the gas mask filtered everything out. Then, a piercing bright light appeared with the sound of a switch being flipped.

Metro could now see his surroundings better. He hopped off the van, and saw other similar vans that were parked around the area. There was a tiny entrance to this garage, which was attached to a narrow spiral structure. The difficulty of navigating the spiral showed the skill of the drivers.

Meanwhile, another van with its headlights turned on was also slowly descending the spiral. While Metro observed the van, a continuous "BEEP!" sound occured behind of him.

Turning to his back, Metro could see many people dressed in white. They were waiting for metal barriers that was slowly separating from each other and retreating into the walls.

Their clothes bored the infamous symbol of the Light Church. The Holy Sword, Taurus, which pressed down on the Embodiment of Evil, the Many-Eyed Offspring, which was stuck in the ground as a tree.

It was vastly different from the religions that Metro had experienced in his previous life. When he had heard about all these creatures for the first time, he had been slightly shocked, especially since he knew that these stories were true.

"May God's highest blessings dissipate all bad karma." All of them prayed together at the same time, along with the squad members. Bowing their heads, they clasped their hands together while muttering unknown words. Metro caught up with them within 1 second, and copied their actions perfectly.

While Metro bowed, his bulletproof vest slightly jutted out, creating a light, but audible sound. Metro's heart fell in that instance. The body physique he had was incompatible with the squad member's uniform!

All eyes turned to look at Metro. Metro only kept his calm and continued to pray like nothing had happened. Eventually, they shifted their eyes away, and spoke the rest of their prayers.

"Divine!" After what seemed like an eternity, they ended their prayers with by shouting out a word. Then, all the people in white approached Metro with genuine smiles.

"Fellow believer, I suggest that you join our service that is happening now. It is common that in your many years of serving justice bravely, you forget the prayers. We will train you until you can remember them again." A soft voice that could be from an angel filled the air. It's innocence could hypnotise any normal person, but Metro's willpower was abnormal.

"Okay, I agree." Metro blinked rapidly under his gas mask. These people were definitely up to something fishy, and it would not bode well for him. However, he had already entered the den of the enemy, so he would pretend to not suspect anything, and fool all of them with the Abyssal Eye when they lowered their guard.

"You won't mind if we take away any weapons you have, right? Our service doesn't allow imagery of violence in them." Two of the people started patting him down. It was extremely clear to everyone that Metro did not fit the uniform at all.

The people in white slowly shifted away from Metro, as the squad members hardened their gaze and raised their guns. They were ready to shoot when the lower priestess ordered the heretic to move forward.

"Now, I..." The soft voice tried to command Metro, but he was already moving forward. Then, he was turned into a coriander by the guns, and fell to the ground, riddled with holes.

"That... was easier than I thought?" She expected the person to at least put up a resistance of some sort, or at least try to follow her orders. His behaviour left her scratching her head.

Moving closer to see the corpse, she could see that the head of the corpse was actually twisted! It was an extremely eerie sight, as no one had done anything to the man except for the fact that he had been shot!

The lower priestess suspected that she had been deceived, and stopped channeling her Charm Mark. Instead, she channeled the True Eye Mark, which allowed her to see through illusions.

In a few seconds, everything in her vision shifted to form the shapes of disoriented people walking around. All the other people accompanying the priestess did not have divine energy contained in them, so they fell prey to the Abyssal Eye easily.

"How did a demon hide his presence in front of the Holy Witch's Contract?" The priestess was troubled. The person in the squad's suit already disappeared, and that meant that a demon was hiding within their ranks. She needed to alert the branch's manager as soon as possible!

Within minutes, the local branch of Light Church was completely shut down. Then, the manhunt for Metro finally began!
