Chapter 2 - The Revelation
Diane goes back to her seat and as she sat down, Leo looked at her in disbelief, he couldn't imagine Diane suddenly having powers "What was that? I thought you were powerless"
"I thought about it a lot last night, I don't want the bad times to repeat again, so I might as well come out now, I'll tell you the whole story" said Diane
"I was powerless, emphasis on the was"
"It all started when a villain from The Blank Order attacked our school, he was trying to find me, I don't know why but I ran for my life"
"I got cornered, I thought I was gonna die, when a screen popped up in front of me, I was desperate without even thinking I used my power and tackled the villain"
"I'm sorry for not telling you but I've been thinking about it since last night and I thought it would be for the better"
"I thought about telling you the day we met, but it was just to shy to bring it up"
Leo sighed and rubbed his nose, it took him by surprise "I understand but from now on I think you shouldn't keep it to yourself all the time, it'll really hurt you in the long run" he said
Diane nodded in shame but Leo patted her head and comforted her, he knew this was a tough decision for Diane to make. The bell rang and the teacher left the class without saying a word, many students assumed it was recess and some left the class, Diane, with Leo and Luna, was about to go out as well, but she was stopped from getting up from her seat when a bunch of her classmates surrounded her
A guy came up to her holding his phone "Hey, you look beautiful, can I get your number"
Another came up and patted Leo and the back "Hey Leo, would you mind introducing me to her"
Many more students came up to Diane giving her praise and wanting to be their friends, she said yes to all of them but when she got invited to go out with some of the groups she denied, they kept insisting but Leo just shooed them all away
"Wow, glad I was your first friend here, I didn't know you would be so popular" said Luna as she takes out her phone "Here's my number by the way, you could always talk to me whenever you want" she said as gave Diane a warm smile
"Well technically Leo was my first friend" Diane replied
"How did you guys meet each other anyway?" said Luna with a curious look on her face
"Well it all started when I was on an abandoned train yard" Diane told the story of how he met Leo
"He was really suspicious as first, he had his hood up and I thought he would be a bad guy so I tackled him into the ground"
Diane and Luna laughed but Leo was a little bit embarrassed by that fact, they continued talking about the many times they hang out, Luna kept bugging Leo about not inviting her, Diane found it really funny
They arrived at the cafeteria and Diane was amazed by how great it looks "Wow, this almost looks like a restaurant, I couldn't believe such a place would be in a school"
The three went up to the cafeteria lady to get their lunches, Diane was contemplating on what she should get
"Oh, Leo and Luna, nice to see you again, are you getting the usual" Said the cafeteria lady
"Yeah we'll get the usual" said Leo, Leo was handed a burger with thick patties and plenty of vegetables as toppings, he also had a side of fries that look so crispy but so soft in the inside. Luna got a salad, Diane was surprised that Luna was eating healthy foods that is until Luna also got a side of ice cream and a milkshake
"You know even if you eat a salad, the ice cream and milkshake will make you fatter" Leo said to Luna
"They taste good I can't stop myself" Luna replied
The cafeteria lady looked at Diane and asked "Are you new here? if so welcome, glad that you could make friends in your first day of school, Leo and Luna might seem like rascals but they're good people, so what'll you be having?"
"I'll have what Leo got, those fries just look so delicious and I those patties on the burger seem so juicy" Diane replied, the cafeteria lady handed Diane her meal and bid her to eat well, the three sat in one of the tables and ate their lunches and chatted about a lot of stuff about the school and the staffs, until a posh looking lady came into the cafeteria as well, even though she wore they same uniform, she gave off an aura of elegance and superiority, Diane wanted to befriend her but Leo and Luna stopped her
"Don't even try to befriend her, she might seem nice but she steps on people like they're dogs, she doesn't even see us as human beings" said Leo as looks away from the lady with disgust
"Never mind that we shouldn't really be paying attention to the student council, we should just take it off our minds" said Luna
"Speaking of the student council, we should out some clubs tomorrow, I heard they're holding the club battles earlier than we thought" Luna continued
The other two agreed on Luna's plan and they chatted some more before finishing their foods and returning to class, Diane listened attentively in the first half and ends up falling asleep for the next
The bell chime rang and school has ended, Diane woke up from her sleep and looked outside to the other students going home, she packed up her things and stood up
"Hey lets go home together" said Luna
Diane nodded with a smile and went home with Leo and Luna that day, Leo's house was the nearest but he dropped off the two girls first at the train station, Luna's stop came up first and she bid farewell to Diane and hugged her tight
Diane walked home to see her mom cooking dinner "Welcome home sweetie, how was your first day?"
"It was fun Mom, but we need to talk about something after dinner" said Diane
after finishing dinner Diane and her mom went to her room upstairs, Diane finally spoke about her powers
"I'm so sorry Mom for hiding it to you all the time" Diane said while she was sobbing, she was trying to stop her tears from coming out but she couldn't
"It's okay honey, I understand you" said her mom
The two cried in each others arm, talking about Diane's future and her past, Diane didn't want for the past to repeat so she promised to herself that she'll do better from now on, they fell asleep crying whilst hugging each other
