Tale #22: Lovingly Dead

"I love you," he said lovingly to me. His eyes reflecting his feelings, heart shapes floating around him as he stared at me with that in love smile, showing his pearly white teeth that I love to see. His cheeks gave the slightest tint of pink as he brushed my cheeks with the back of his hand.

It was rough to the touch as it is calloused from all the work he had done. "I love you so much, my darling." He said, cooing as he snuggled at my chest. I can hear him sniffing my scent, indulging himself in my presence and all. He really is head over heels for me.

"You seem cold, are you alright?" He asked, concern painted on his face. He touched my face again to confirm that I am cold, and in fact, I am. "Wait here, I'll get you something." He stood up and left to go get me a blanket and a cup of tea. He always does that whenever I feel cold or sad. He knows that very well.

And I don't know if I should love him for that. In fact, I don't even know him, not even his name.

He's a complete stranger that I just woke up to, in the middle of the night, four days ago. He's a complete stranger who probably climbed up on the side of the house and into my window, slithering inside my bedroom and cuddling me in my sheets. He's a complete stranger who happens to know everything about me. What gets me up when sad, when sick or when in a very down mood. He knows my favorite movies, snacks, food, and drinks. He knows my style, what I like to wear on certain days, what fabric I try to avoid, what brand I hate the most.

He knows everything about me, from the basics down to my most secret things like I secretly like this band or that I secretly like this club.

He knows me all too well. And in those 4 days, he talked non stop. He talked about everything. From the moment he saw me up to the point of his obsession and him invading my territory. He even got to the point where he planned our future: how and when we will get married, how many kids, where we'll retire, everything is planned.

And ruining it made me pay a heavy price.

He returned with my favorite blanket and cup of tea. He put the cup down on the bedside table as he tucked my corpse with the extra blanket he had. He proceeded to stroke my decaying face and whisper i love you over and over again. Switching from blaming me for ruining his perfect plan of our lives, making him kill me to him telling me i love yous and promising to stay with me forever.

It's been four days since i died, since he killed me, and no one has noticed that i was gone… no one has knocked on my door nor has anyone contacted me. I guess it's in his convenience that I was considered invisible my whole life. I was an easy target.

And he was a predator looking for delicious prey.

AND TO THOSE WHO CAN READ THIS, BE CAREFUL NOT ONLY OF STRANGERS BUT ALSO THOSE WHO LOVE YOU. LOVE CAN GET YOU IN WAYS MORE THAN ONE.
