Oliver pecked me on the cheek and rushed out the door without a goodbye. I sat there in the kitchen in silence. The cereal that I had poured myself didn't look pleasing anymore it was soggy as I just pushed it around in the milk, having no appetite. I was still disgusted with myself from last night.
The sun shined and sat on the white granite island. The barstool that I was sitting on twisted back and forth as I bounced my leg. Staring into space I was thinking of what I could have done differently.
To defend myself with, to stop this mess from ever happening in the first place. But then my brothers lives will be at risk. Conflicting feelings and thoughts were at war in her head.
The silence was deafening. I sighed, got up from the breakfast bar and washed my bowel that was still full, turning on the garbage disposal. The noise was loud and I immediately turned it off. Looking at the stairs expectingly, for that old bastard to show up.
Nothing happened. I could breath again, I sat the bowel in the sink and made my way upstairs to get dressed. I pulled out a Sleeping with Sirens hoodie that was black and had the band name across the back of it. I put it on and slipped on a pair of black skinny jeans, and black leather combat boots.
I grabbed my phone and earbuds from my bedside table. Turning on Billie Eilish I Put on my rings that went on each finger.
Mazikeen made her way down the stairs in time to hear that sickly voice "Mazzzyyyy...come here..." Troy sang
Mazikeen was just about to turn around to run back up the beige carpeted stairs.
But then a hot sweaty hand grabbed her ankle and dragged her back down the rest of the staircase and into the kitchen. "Why are you running away from me little Princess?" No! Not again!
Just as she put her arms up to defend herself another body came flying from the top of the stairs above her and slammed into Troy she was dazed for a moment and sat there to watch Isaac to a swing at her father. A loud grunt was earned from Troy. "Mazikeen go to your room and lock yourself in now!" Isaac yelled in a deep booming voice.
Mazikeen Tripped up the stairs going across the hallway and closed the door not even bothering to lock it. Her father had forced her to give him the extra copy.
Fear creeped into her body as her father was six foot seven and was on steroids. Her brother Isaac was only a meek six foot four. Grunting and yelping came from downstairs as something was being broken. She ran into the closet shivering in fear.
Footfall came into earshot as Mazikeen cowards inside her closet underneath a pile of clothes. "Maze it's okay it only me" a soft voice came from out side the closet. Mazikeen reached an arm out and her brother picked her up putting her on his waist as she cried into his shoulder, out of fear. He patted her head and rubbed her back. She calmed down in a few moments later and dropped down. Growing shorter.
"Isaac?" Mazikeen questioned in a shaky voice. "Yeah Maze?" He replied. She looked up at his messed up face noticing blood dripping from his forehead, his big blue eyes seemed angry and distant. "Let's get you cleaned up okay?" Mazikeen offered, dragging her thumb across his cheek. They both walked to the bathroom down the hall. Mazikeen grabbed the first aid kit from the medicine cabinet and sat it down on the counter top.
She grabbed the rubbing alcohol, swabs and bandages. Mazikeen wiped the blood away from his brow with a wet cloth and cleaned the wound, putting a bandage on it. She did the same with his cheek and shoulder.
After Mazikeen was finished she planted a soft kiss on his lips and stared into his eyes for a moment. "Better?" She asked. "Your funny, I'm just glad I was there in time... I don't know what I would happen if I wasn't.
You need to be more careful around that bastard, you scared me shitless promise me okay. Promise?"
"Promise." Mazikeen walked out and took his hand, leading him to her room.
She went to her closet and grabbed the tie and gag. Isaac gave her a questioning glance as Mazikeen gave them to him. With a shaky voice she said, "keep these, don't let Troy find them."
Isaac's eyes widened. He was going to ask her what happened and why she has these things, but she just trotted out of her room and down the long corridor. Leaving him there with the task and to wander what had happened. Even though he had a good idea.
It was around twelve when Cole came from his room in just a navy blue, crew neck t-shirt and black Fruit of the Loom boxers. "What's going on with all this noise?" He groaned, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. Cole made his way to the bathroom only to find that it was locked.
Being annoyed he kicked the bottom of the door and asked who was in there, Mazikeen's voice responded with a high pitched squeak. "I'm in the shower." That was a strange response because he didn't hear the water running. But didn't think anything of it and went to the downstairs guest bathroom.
