Streamlining the War machine

With Luke chilling in his Sage Tower, only handing out missions that he had completed these past few years to the players to get them to level up, a week quickly passed.

At was at this moment, that that first Level 5 players other than the group of 4 that he kept sending to the battlefield appeared. 3 out of the four players that were direct members of CoD had their own factions within Leon. OriginalMagus had Supreme as his sponsor, and such a sponsor would naturally get other players to support him. Although there was no official 'clan' or 'guild' system in Ultimatum as of yet, such groups of people supporting a single individual as professional players had been formed and decided on even before the Beta Testing was released. SwordSlasher had Nike backing him while SaintessKatrina had Nestle backing her. Even WeedGod, who had betrayed Luke, had LG supporting him. Naturally, VidBro did not have a sponsor yet, but he would in good time.

Other than these 4 individuals, there were countless other players with qualifications to be called pro-players, inspiring to be categorised as 'God' tier players like OriginalMagus, SaintessKatrina, SwordSlasher and WeedGod. These players also ha sponsors behind them, and depending on the financial power of the sponsor, and the amount of money they were willing to give to the player, various unofficial guilds were formed.

From these countless guilds that had formed within the CoD faction itself, around 12 players had all boosted themselves to reaching Level 5. In reality, out of these 12 people, 11 of them had accepted the [Draconic Sub-Spectator], which was a sub bloodline evolution related to Luke's own evolution pathway, however, it was a grade below the [Draconic Spectator] that the direct Player members of CoD has. As of now, only OriginalMagus, SwordSlasher, VidBro, and SaintessKatrina were direct Player members.

All of those 11 players who chose to accept [Draconic Sub-Spectator], had come under Luke's direct control in an instant. That 1 player chose [Human II] out of consideration for his future if he was under the control of the Sage. On the other hand, there were actually nearly 42 players who had reached enough exp points to reach Level 5 on this day, but were struggling to decide between [Human II] and [Draconic Sub-Spectator].

Although Luke was more than happy to have more players under his full control, he would not do anything to those who did not fully submit to him. After all, not evolving into a powerful bloodline in the early stages would be incredibly detrimental to the players in the future. Many Professional Players even decided to give up on their accounts and get a new capsule and new account to restart. After all, the existence of level limits would prevent the existence of incredibly gaps of power between new and old players.

Naturally, equipment and resources were not something that could be made up in a short time and took a long time to make once more.

With these 12 new players, he sent them off to the battlefield. Right after that, he raised the requirements for going to the battlefield to Level 7. Since it would take players some time to reach that level, by then, the war would have reached the level where Level 5 are more or less completely useless even as cannon-fodder.

Based on the situation he had seen when he went to the battlefield, it would take another 2 months for the war to escalate to the level 9 soldiers were insufficient even as cannon-fodder, and every single soldier on the battlefield was at least level 10.

This speed was already incredibly fast compared to the previous iteration at this game, where this would have taken around 1 year.

However, the professional players, or soon-to-be professional players would be able to reach level 7 within another week. And he could send the next batch of fighters to the battlefield.

Due to the fact that the players were immortal in every sense of the word, other than losing a little exp, there was no need to continuously reinforce his troops to show that he was contributing to the war. Those old geezers at the council would see it as him continuously sending a small squad of 4 to the battlefield on suicide mission to kill as many enemies as possible.

This would naturally greatly satisfy those guys. On the other hand, he would not lose any people in the process, and those specific players would also gain tremendous benefits in the process. Therefore, he was not in a rush to send over all the players. Instead, he wanted to slowly increase their level while slowly releasing them.

This would not fully overwhelm the battlefield instantly, bringing those chessboard players' attention to his soldiers, increasing the time it would take for them to realise that they were immortal.

The main reason he was doing this was naturally, his own benefit. From the very moment he returned, Luke had changed the mission given to those of CoD fighting at the main battlefield to the Main Storyline Sub-quest he had gotten before. For the direct members, there were no restrictions on gaining the battle mission. However, for those 12 people he sent out in the first wave, he naturally imposed a fee for gaining the quest.

The fee was 100 exp.

Naturally, this was nothing compared to the exp offered by the mission. Since all the players were just barely level 5, the exp they gained from killing 5 level 0-9 soldiers was a staggering 1000 exp. Since none of this exp was coming from Luke's hands, he was not losing anything giving them this mission, and instead was gaining a free 100 exp for every time these player went for the mission. Unlike normal soldiers, once these player left for the battlefield with the masks Luke made for them, which was just a plain white mask with nothing on it unlike the masks given to the direct player members, these players would not return alive. In fact, their main objective was to try and kill as many as possible with their level 5 weak strength, and then blow themselves up as soon as they were losing.

Since these people could keep accepting the mission from anywhere as long as they were connected to the system, which was impossible not to be connected to, every day, Luke would receive around 200 exp. This number was initially 100, however Luke created a streamlined delivery service using the incredibly large number of assassins he had force into complete servitude as safe and secure delivery boys, to pass on the 'supplies' to the newly revived players, who could freely choose a point of revival based on the last place they slept, and the major locations of the faction the belong.

Naturally, these supplies consisted mainly of explosives.
