Chapter 242- Confession (2)

Rizi was stunned but exhaled loudly after a moment.

She never expected this! He just wants to watch them over.

She knew Zain doesn't consider himself worthy and he was somewhat correct about what happened between them in the past!

But now that she had seen and known different faces of evil like her father, and the ugly side of the truth, in comparison to those she didn't know how to place Zain's remorse.

At least he felt the remorse, unlike her father who doesn't feel an ounce of remorse since god knows when!

That night was indeed a huge thorn in her heart!

It was better if Zain would have continue being an antagonist! Why hell he had to become the protagonist and hero? It is so difficult for her right now.

She was torn but deep inside she knew she will end up forgiving him based on whatever he is doing for his redemption.

She chuckled inwardly at her jumbled thoughts!

She didn't know whether to laugh or cry!

Even if she will forgive him, Zain is not going to forgive himself that easily. This battle is not with her but it was with himself also.

He was not able to recover from the trauma of losing his parents and the guilt of what he did to her in the process of revenge. Ethan had mentioned about he still attended therapy sessions in between.

Isn't it ironic that the man could go on a killing spree; doesn't need therapy for bloodshed but instead his other emotions and anxiety that get triggered because of his parents and her sometimes?

Here she was talking about their hearts and he had concluded that he doesn't deserve to be part of their lives at all while asking to be in his line of sight.

Rizi knew not to rush things when her own emotions are not stable yet. Maybe they need to take it slow and one step at a time.

"Ok, I promise to never hide away from you!" She sighed umpteenth in the past few minutes.

Why hide? If worst comes worst, she could easily destroy him and his empire!

After a while when she felt Zain has calmed down, she moved back at scanned his face.

He looked funny and similar to Leo.

she lifted his head and cupped his cheek.

Leo had the same facial expression even while crying. At this moment, she couldn't help but chuckle at the uncanny resemblance between him and Leo.

His green eyes were still red with unshed tears and his expression was shrouded with sadness!

"Such a crybaby you have become! Leo is stronger than you!"

Zain's lips curved up a bit at her comment.

"Now you look ugly with the smile on this crying face of yours !" Rizi teased and wiped his tears with her thumb.

Zain held her hand and placed a chaste kiss on her palm.

Rizi sighed again, "Don't hate yourself Zain! It was our foolishness and circumstances that led us here! If I would have been more vigilant and if you would have decipher the whole ploy of my father beforehand, then things would have been different! But now there is no use in crying over the spilt milk. I am thankful for all your help. If I evaluate my younger self, then I hate that stupid young Rizelle more than anyone!"

Zain placed her fingers on her lips, "no! That young girl was innocent. She did not deserve all that sh*t! I wish I could go back in time! But I am proud of who you have become! I had fallen for you back then but was blinded by my hatred towards your father. Now when I am clear-headed, I know what I feel. I love that younger Rizelle and this Rizellle sitting right in front of me! I love all of you, Amore!"

Rizi smiled but couldn't help but ask, "Then why did you throw me in that jail and that too for embezzlement? Such a puny reason? We were already bankrupt. I had funds to pay but accounts were frozen, Grandpa Cruz was out of the country for cancer treatment and Jason, I was not able to reach out to him."

"I- I am sorry for that. Where do I begin?"

Zain slowly explained everything to Rizi.
