Escaping Vow

"Oh yeah, your unique magic!" Yuu pointed out with an estatic and hopeful smile.

"For only a small amount of magic, my 'Oasis Maker' can make any amount of water." Kalim explained as he remembered the words that was conveyed to him by his tutors back home, "If I make a river, we can go back to the dorm?"

"What kind of unique magic is that?! It's too amazing!" Azul cried out in disbelief pushing his glasses back from falling off his face.

"Ah hah hah!" Kalim laughed with a wide victorious smile, "Since we have plumbing, it doesn't really get any time to be useful, though."

"This isn't something to 'Ah hah hah' about!" Azul scolded Kalim in dismay, "That magic would be a godsend to countries that don't have safe drinking water! Something like that would... print piles of money!!!"

"Ah, there he goes again..." Lotus smirked as she saw his frustrated looks, "At least, it's not a bad idea. Haha!"

Out of the blue, Jade interjected by clearing his throat and said, "Let's ignore Azul's little tangent... Kalim, if you would be so kind."

"I just have to create a river. Got it! Leave it to me." Kalim took out his magic pen and pointed it to the sky, "Oasis Maker!"

It didn't take long for water to come showering down from the sky with a gleam similar to that of crystals and diamond under the light. The perimeter at which the rain fell was almost unbelievable. Even though she knew of the process, it was still her first time seeing the unique magic in action. Under the moon light the scenery was rather breathtaking. Ice and water is, in its way, life's flowing diamond. It took less than five minutes for water to fill up the entire river making it flow again.

"Amazing..." Grim stared in disbelief, "A river is springing to life right before our eyes, y'know!"

Jade and Floyd had already returned to their long eel forms causing the other two spiritual beasts to raise a brow.

"Now, Floyd, let's get going before it freezes over." Jade said and turned to Grim and Azul from the waters, "Azul, Grim, please hang onto me."

"Lil' Shrimp and Baby Otter, grab my back~!" Floyd said with a lazy smile.

"Huh?" Grim was lifted into the air and onto Jade's back when something came up and the cat looked back to Azul in confusion, "Can't he swim quickly by himself?"

"Azul isn't a fast swimmer, even as a merman." Jade explained with a small pitiful smile on his face yet still in a teasing note.

"Our finds are just built differently." Azul pointed out rather offended and wanted to finish the conversation right there, "Let's get a move on back to Scarabia!"

By then, Lotus and the other had already looked away as she asked Hei Hui curiously, "Would there be anymore interference during their travel?"

Hei Hui shook her head with a wide smile, "Of course not. We already had A-Cong place that barrier. Though we can't count on the other dorm, Scarabia dorm will be safe from another 'interference'. You won't be watching over them?"

"What if another creature was hiding in this dorm?" Raaji asked Lotus nervously as he recalled that large beast.

"I trust the work that your dorm guardians are putting into." Lotus replied easily, "As long as the Octavinelle dorm is willing to help Yuu, there is no worries that they won't be able to snap Jamil out of it."

"I'm surprised that the Octavinelle's dorm leader didn't look into Kalim's unique magic." Hei Hui sighed in dismay, "They are in luck that things are in their favor today. If a surprise akin to this magnitude occurs again, they can only hope that the surprise is to their favor. It would seem that the Octavinelle's children are truly better than the last, but still lacking..."

"It's better to convey this lecture to them instead when you have the chance." Lotus said calmly, "As we'll be returning to the dorms I am done with things on my side, I'll properly convey your message to them. Staff or guardian, everyone in life is a teacher and test of life itself. Now..."

She frowned and turned to Hei Hui, "Even though I do trust the effort you put into your duties, I don't know what to say about what happened this afternoon..."

"Hmph!" A-Cong scowled, "And, we don't know how you knew of the existence of the guardians of the dorms."

Lotus shrugged, "It appears a 'little flower' let the things spill."

"Huh? Flower?" Raaji looked to her in confusion.

Hearing this, Hei Hui's eyes widen in surprise, "So, the resurgence of the guardian in Heartslabyul dorm does involve you. But, they should've died by lightning if they allow word of this to leave their lips."

"It wouldn't matter." Lotus shrugged with a mischievous smirk, "Especially not if they had their powers and movements sealed away before telling me about this."

Without their cultivation, immortals are no more than mortals and flower fairy would become no different than a flower. Naturally, they could evade the punishment if they lack the cultivation required to initiate a vow. Their souls would be too weak to connect with this vow, so whatever they do under the heavens is undetectable. However, few knew of this as none was willing to test this theory out. Only she, having seeing a timeline of over a million years have witnessed such a thing occur. Those who have made such a vow and survived after breaking their cultivation core and the vow become undiscovered by heaven's heavenly lightning. As a spirit, she have witnessed such a chaotic system during the years of wandering endlessly in the realm of the living. As of now, it's safe to say that only the majority of the plant spirit of her kingdom knows of such leeway in this so-called "solid" system, compared to her time when they knew naught of such a broken system.

Hearing this, A-Cong looked to her in disbelief, "But, how can this be?! No one has escaped the grip of this vow in over a hundred years! You're lying!"

"A-Cong." Hei Hui warned her old friend calmly.

The guy in black paused his movement and carefully pulled back from another outburst as Hei Hui looked to her, "However, this is quite a surprise. Just how did Heartslabyul's guardian get away with giving you the information? Should the words leave our lips first, we would by struck to death."

Lotus shrugged, "Cultivation and soul are necessary to create a vow under the heavens and earth. You say that it's impossible, but I've witnessed this a long time ago. As long as one shattered either their cultivation or their soul, the tribulation cloud that delivers the heavenly lightning will be unable to find where the vow breaker is located. Once either of the two are restored, they also must take up their duty to the vow once more. After the roses in the Heartslabyul dorm took up their place as guardians and restored their cultivation to the level required for the vow, they become unable to speak of the matter anymore. Once the information leaves their lips, they will die. What happens before then becomes nothing more than movement in the darkness. Also, if I was lying, tell me how you aren't struck by lightning when you first spoke of the guardians?"

"Huh?" A-Cong looked to her in confusion when he suddenly remembered something important.

The guy behind her was also a student of the dorms! She was right! If she had lied, then they should've been struck by lightning, so how was it that they didn't get struck by lightning? No matter where they go or where they hide, it is impossible not to get pursued by the tribulation cloud!

Lotus smirked, "The vow prohibits the information to be spread by the guardians, but what if I gave out the information of the existence of the guardians in the first place? Obviously, it would give you the leeway to openly talk about it before us. However, if you were to share it before a clueless student..."

"We'd break the vow." Hei Hui concluded with great interest now. She turned to Lotus and smiled wide of relief, "We did not imagine that such a gap in the vows existed. With this, we can relax a little knowing that we would not be struck by the tribulation cloud. Thank you for sharing this with us."

"However, now that that's out of the way..." Lotus said curiously, "What about the other two?"

Hei Hui thought for a bit in deep contemplation before she spoke, "What matter is it that you wish to speak about? The intruder, the overblot, or the attack?"

They were all topics of importance and needed to be said. Though there were a lot to remember, she was not willing to let a single topic left undiscussed.
