Chapter 2

"Creator, what is death?" Nrven began to tremble he had a faint idea of what the Creator meant but hoped he was wrong with his assumption.

Continuing to sculpt the woman's face from the obsidian he spoke his wise words to them "Death is a mercy, it is an end to a fruitful life that was filled with ups and downs. Death is what every humans will begin to fear but will need. We are immune to the sweet peace of death, but they won't be. Don't look at me like that children, you will come to understand that there is a need for death. In fact you will be meeting her soon."

Fear rushed through the angels spines as goose bumps assaulted their arms. They couldn't believe what they were hearing. There was a thing such as 'death'. To them it sounded like pure torture.

The Creator lifted the female head he was carving. Seeing the face of the beast known as death they all felt repulsed.

Seeing this the Creator sighed in annoyance. Stroking the cheek of the face he was creating he spoke softly "She will be created as I desire, she will be the opposite of me. And there will be just one of her. So unique and blessed she will have her own kingdom where she will protect the human's souls."

The angels crumbled, all of the colour drained from their face at the thought of there being a killer for their perfect humans, they didn't see anything wrong with them that they couldn't slowly change over time.

It was too late now though, the Creator has decided, Nrven couldn't stomach the thought to speak again, he was simply too upset and didn't dare speak his mind as it would be seen as disrespectful towards the Creator.

Watching his pure angels whimpering and whining in agony at his choice he shock his head at their obvious ignorance to his explanation.

They had thought themselves and their creations untouchable, but this will make them realise they are not superior. Not to him and most certainly not to Death.

Centuries later Death was now a fully established entity, her position is equal to the Creator now.

After creating her the Creator found her to be his best creation yet, so gorgeous and full of love and life that he cherished every moment he spent with her.

The Creator still remembers the talk with her he had about her position.

Sitting on a cloud they overlooked the earth below them, with its vibrant greens, blues and sandy browns she was fascinated by it.

Death had been blessed at birth with the Creators third eye. Like the Creator her eyes were glossy and glassy looking, at first it overwhelmed her but now she loved seeing everyone and everything thriving.

"At the moment every human is causing destruction, they are terrorising the earth I spent centuries creating, I filled it with everything I desired and continue to add more when I please." The Creator gently took Deaths hand inside his own, for this was his child. Created in his imagine unlike his angels.

Although he created her as a fully grown woman he still treated her like a young child in her early years of life as he knew she needed nurturing to understand her purpose.

"The angels loved the earth so much, they adored it, constantly praising. Seeing my first creations so happy made me feel incredible. They lifted me up after being alone for so many years, essentially I created the earth for their praise and worship. Yet I was stupid, I allowed them to create life, it was wrong of me." His tone showed his regret and remorse over letting them have too much power.

"I understand, the human's were not created with the right aspects, they have no conscious or reason. They only care about dominance. There is no balance." Death knew the humans were too free, too wild as they lived without no goals or purpose. They were immortal so lived without restrictions, yet they needed it.

Brushing his hand through her hair he gave her a look filled with love, he thought her imperfectly perfect.

Seeing them so content with one another made the angels despise Death, to them she was a constant reminder of their failure. How they infuriated the Creator.

As pure hearted angels, shockingly, they hated her with every ounce of their being. They were corrupted with malice for the woman who stole their Creator's love.

But they couldn't do anything, if they acted out they knew the Creator would simply remove their current position as protecters of the humans.

Thus they faced decades of dejection by placing a smile over their scowl. They just stuck to themselves and ignored death anytime she tried to communicate with them.

It was one day when Death approached Nrven that she discovered their true hatred for her.

In her pure white robe she had just left her chat with the Creator and had stumbled across Nrven sitting alone in the garden that was known as paradise.

She used to have regular lessons with the Creator as he informed her about everything she would need to know about her life and the lives around her, they both enjoyed the meetings so much that even after the lessons had finished she still made sure to visit the Creator everyday.

At the moment the Creator was creating her kingdom, so he was very busy throughout the days so she made sure not to take up too much of his precious time.

Nrven sat loosely, purched against a tree he wrote inside his journal, she often saw him writing inside it after speaking to the Creator as she assumed he was simply writing down his feelings.

Slowing her pace she walked calmly towards him. "Nrven, May I sit beside you?"

She knew the angels disliked her, it wasn't hard to notice when they openly scorned at her when she was alone.

At first it made her confused and troubled that they seemed to loath her before they had even meet her.

But as her lessons progressed with the Creator she came to understand why they loathed her, she was created to solve the mess they made.

Now when they scorned at her she sent them a very large dazzling smile that made them momentarily pause before collecting their bearings.

"Why do you continue to ignore me Nrven, I recognise the cleverness inside of you and thought you would understand better than your fellow angels why I am needed. I guess I was wrong." Shrugging her shoulders Death turned to walk away.

Originally Nrven planned to ignore her, however after the praise and insult she threw his way he snapped his journal closed and called out to her.

"I am centuries older than you who has been alive a few decades, so don't you dare belittle me! Remember your place for it is below all of the angels!" Spitefully he degraded her with his poisonous call. In his mind she should know not to approach any angel, she doesn't deserve their attention.

Tutting, she turned to face him. "The Creator was right about you angels your all mindless simpletons who don't understand the laws of life and death."

Nrven shot to his feet, he didn't believe the Creator would say that about his angels, there was no way he would ever insult them like that.

"You dare! Deface the Creator! He would never say that about the angels! We are his most prized creation he told me this the moment he made me. I was his first Creation!"

Nrven heaved up and down in anger, his entire face was red and blotchy from his screaming.

Thanks to how loud he screamed, Nrven had attracted a large audience of angels who flew in from nearby.

Hearing his words the angels rallied together as they all shouted abuse at Death.

Words from 'You are worthless' to 'How dare you speak to one of us!' were all hurled towards her.

They even started to close in on her, they left her no escape. For a second Death started to panic, there were roughly twenty five angels closing in around her.

Then she paused. Who were they to belittle her for their mistake, they should be begging on their knees for she was their saviour.

And as soon as her kingdom was made she will swoop down to earth with an army of servants to reclaim the souls that have been around for too long causing nothing but destruction.

Once the humans realise they are no longer immortal they will start to live a more meaning full life, this she was sure of.
