Part 5

"Are you seriously wasting my time with this?" Scott asked, standing up from the bed. "You two know I'm picking up Allison in an hour."

Scott picks up his backpack before Alex grabs his arm. "We saw you on the field today," she said. "What you did wasn't just amazing, all right? It was impossible."

"Yeah, so I made a good shot," Scott said, not getting what Alex was trying to say.

"No, you made an incredible shot," Stiles said as Alex takes Scott's backpack and tosses it behind her. "I mean, the way you moved, your speed, your reflexes? Y'know, people can't just suddenly do that overnight."

"And there's the vision and the senses, and don't even think I don't notice that you don't need your inhaler anymore," Alex said.

"Okay! I can't think about this now," Scott said. "We'll talk about this tomorrow."

Alex becomes panicked at that. "Tomorrow?! What? No!" she exclaims. "The full moon's tonight. Don't you get it?"

"What are you trying to do?" Scott asked, Alex sensing that he was getting upset. "I-I just made first-line. I-I got a date with a girl who I can't believe wants to go out with me, and everything in my life is somehow perfect. Why are you two trying to ruin it?"

"We're trying to help!" Stiles nearly yells, causing Alex to shrink back at the noise.

"Listen, you're cursed, Scott," Alex said, her voice shakey. "You know, and it's not just the moon that will cause you to physically change. It also just so happens to be when your bloodlust will be at its peak."

"Bloodlust?" Scott asked.

"Yeah, your urge to kill," Stiles said.

"I'm already starting to feel an urge to kill, Stiles," Scott said, sounding annoyed.

Stiles frantically reaches for a book off of his desk and starts reading aloud from it. "You gotta hear this- "The change can be caused by anger or anything that raises your pulse." All right?"

"I haven't seen anyone raise your pulse like Allison does," Alex said.

"Actually, there was another person but that doesn't matter," Stiles said, earning a dirty look from Scott. "Anyway, you gotta cancel this date." He then began digging through Scott's bag, looking for his phone. "I'm gonna call her right now."

"What are you doing?" Scott asked frantically.

"I'm canceling the date," Stiles said, trying to find Allison's number on Scott's phone.

"No, give it to me," Scott said, taking his phone from Stiles' hands and allowing it to hit the ground before shoving Stiles against the wall and raising his right fist.

"Scott!" Alex's voice rings out, her voice laced with fear.

Scott lets his fist fall and takes a deep, shaky breath. He lets go of Stiles and, before either Stiles or Alex knew, Scott threw Stiles' desk chair across the room. Once the chair hit the other wall, Scott turns to face a practically terrified Alex.

"I'm sorry. I-I gotta go get ready for that party," Scott said, picking up his phone and his bag before dismissing himself from the room.

At this point, Alex is violently shaking as Stiles lets out a long breath before his eyes found Alex.

"Hey, are you alright?" Stiles asked the shaking girl.

"I… uh…," Alex said, trying to make the lump in her throat go away as she tried to form a sentence.

"It's your parents, isn't it?" Stiles asked, referring to Scott's actions.

Alex could only nod as Stiles walked over to her and wrapped his arms around the girl.

"I'm so sorry you have to see me like this," Alex said, her voice shaking.

"Don't apologize," Stiles said, hugging Alex tighter. "If anything, it should be Scott apologizing for sending you into a stupid panic."

"N-no," Alex said. "I know it was his werewolf side. He just got angry."

"Yeah, but he still had no right to get that angry and scare you," Stiles said.

Alex nodded before she started taking deep breaths. After a while, her body stopped shaking and she was okay.

"Are you alright now?" Stiles asked, releasing Alex from his embrace.

"Y-yeah," Alex said. "Thank you, Stiles."

"Anytime," Stiles said. "Now, let's get back to work, okay?"

"Okay," Alex said.

Stiles nodded and stood up from the bed before walking over to his desk chair and bringing it over to his desk. Stiles sat in the chair and started going through different websites again. Alex watched until her eyes found something on the back of the chair.

"Stiles, you know how we both said Scott got really angry and that he can change when he gets really upset?" Alex said, looking at the thing she found.

"Yeah, why?" Stiles asked.

"You might want to take a look at the back of your chair," Alex said.

Stiles looked at her confused before getting out of the chair and finally looking at what Alex was. He froze as he noticed four long slits on the back of the chair. Four long slits that had broken the leather of the chair.

"They're claw marks, aren't they?" Alex asked.

"That's what they look like," Stiles sighed.

"So he really is a werewolf," Alex said.

"And if today's practice isn't enough evidence for him, we have this," Stiles said, referring to the chair.

"Yeah, but now we have to figure out how to tell him to where he would believe us," Alex said.

"That's going to be the hard part," Stiles sighed.

"Right," Alex said before her stomach growled.

"Hungry?" Stiles asked.

"Yeah. I'm going to get something to eat," Alex said. "Do you want anything?"

"Nah," Stiles said. "I'm good."

"Alright, I'll be back," Alex said, walking out of the room and into the kitchen.

After rummaging through the cupboards, Alex finally found a sufficient amount of snacks. Gathering them all into her arms, Alex made her way back to Stiles' room where she dumped the snacks onto the bed.

"Holy crap," Stiles said, turning in his desk chair to see what Alex grabbed.

"You're always hungry," Alex said.

"So you brought the whole kitchen?" Stiles asked, getting out of the chair.

"No, it's just the good stuff," Alex said, almost sounding proud.

"Alright, I guess we'll just have to dig in," Stiles smiled.

"You know it, Stilinski," Alex smirked.

After an hour, all of the snacks that were once on the bed were gone. The only thing that remained were wrappers that were scattered around the room. But, Stiles and Alex didn't seem to care as they were peacefully sleeping on Stiles' bed with Alex curled into Stiles' chest.
