XXX Adaline

I giggled and smiled widely as Chase carried me on his shoulders to the Master Suite where we had our council meetings. It had a couch that was in front of a tv, a dining room, and two rooms, with each a bathroom.

My smile turned into a frown, once I saw Carson's and Axel's face when we came in with Jack. They Looked pale, worried, and scared at the same time. What happened? Axel especially never showed his emotions unless something was up.

"What's wrong?" But my question immediately died on my lips when I saw what was on the dining table.

An unrecognizable naked body was on it. I gasped, I almost hurled at the damage that was done on the boy's body. I almost fall on the floor from Chase's shoulders, but Jack caught me midway to the floor. I slide to the floor.

"I think I'm going to hurl!" I whispered in horror, I fell wobbly into Chase's arms and he picked me up bridal style. He walked out of the room while I cried quietly in the crook of his neck. He slid down the wall in the hallway with me in his arms.

"Shhhh… It's okay." He repeated as I soaked his shirt with tears. How could someone or it, do that to another person? I tried not to replay the horror in my mind. The whip marks that made his body unrecognizable, and then a black long spike that protruded from the boy's chest, right in the middle of his heart. I've never seen a dead body, well not that I remember, especially not that gruesome. I shivered at the thought of the pain the boy went through before being swiftly killed Precisely with a black spike in the middle of his heart.

I cried and cried until I had no more tears, while Chase just held me tightly whispering comforting words. Now that my sobbing had stopped Chase lifted my chin softly.

"Are you alright?" His eyes filled with concern. I nodded and snuggled into the crook of his neck. We stayed like that in silence until my eyelids grew heavy and I slowly drifted to sleep…

XXX Chase

Adaline's breaths started to slow and I looked down to see her snoring softly. I lifted her in my arms and she squirmed softly and nuzzled into my neck. I went down a floor into our President Suite and put her on her bed. I took off her converse and put them in the corner of the room. I wrapped a blanket around her and softly put a pillow behind her head, she mumbled at this but fell back into her deep sleep. Adaline's eyes were puffy and red and her nose was as red as a tomato. I kissed her forehead and turned to leave.

"Chase?" I hear before I turn to see Adaline with some more tears in her eyes.

"Yeah?" I whispered.

"Can you stay with me?" I smiled at her.

"Sure, babe." I walk back to her bed and take off my shirt. She looks at me questioningly.

"My shirts a little wet from your tears." Her cheeks redden as she realized I was talking about her crying on my shoulder. getting my shirt wet. I slid into the covers with her and pulled her into me. Her head was was on my chest and I wrapped my arms around her. her breathing slowed and so did mine as I drifted slowly into sleep.

XXX Axel

"Jack, I don't think Nick or a human being did this," I say with distaste as I look down at the body.

"Well, I doubt it was a monster or anything." He replies.

"But you haven't heard from the witness yet." I shiver as I remember the girls frightened words.

*Flashback to the witness's story*

"What happened last night Josie?" She was in shock, she was pale and her lips were a deep purple.

"The re re…." she stuttered.

"Josie! We need to know! What happened! Spill it." I yelled at her. She seemed to snap out of the trance for a moment.

"There was a monster!" She gasped. "Ben and I were just having some.." she paused for a second as if she was contemplating if she wanted to tell me. "Alone time." She says with guilty eyes. I rolled my eyes like I cared what the did.

"And?"

"He said he had to go use the bathroom, and he walked away from me. But then I heard screaming, and I ran to him. saw him on the ground in the middle of the street with whip marks all over his body." She sobbed. "He screamed at me to run... but I couldn't. He sat up and tried to scoot away from the danger but then I saw something in the shadows and I screamed. the next thing I knew was I heard a loud shriek and.. then.. a black spike was protruding from Ben's chest." She sobbed this as her body shuddered and trembled. " It came out of the shadows and…. and… it's not human." She whispered. "It watched me run.. but.. it didn't come after me." What the hell was going on? I think to myself. Josie used to be so courageous and strong, now she was like an empty traumatized shell.

*Flashback over*

I looked down at the broken body. Why didn't the animal eat the body? I will figure out what this monster is and then I will kill it.

"Carson! Jack!" I snap. They turned to me.

"What?" They say in unison.

"Get everyone armed. I have a hunch the little monster is going to try to have some fun tonight."

"I think so too, too bad the animal's playtime is going to be cut short since I'll have his head tonight," Jack says happily. We all grin at each other.
