Chapter 8 : Enjoying Earth (1)

Embra is busy talking on phone outside while we are choosing cloth in a store of an empty floor of a mall with no buyers. It is not that this mall is unpopular. Just look at this sight. Huge chandlers hanging from the high ceiling. Moving ladders. Is it called, escalator? Whatever, each store is luxurious in my eyes. The clothes have designs I have never seen before and I cannot choose what I want. So, I decided to buy one cloth for every design. But, for Sethar, it seems she is interested in fitting cloths and shorts that are easy to move around. Are we really in a mortal world?

A soft music can be heard through the whole floor and employees of each stores are welcoming us with warm smiles. The floor is too clean to be mistaken as a mirror and it is warm in here even though it is winter. Apparently, Embra reserved the whole top floor of this wall for himself and he will not allow us to go around with a simple dress. Does my dress look really plain? Whatever.

Oh he is done talking it seems but, he is not coming into the store and smoking outside while facing opposite of us. I see, So, he wants us to choose freely, huh? He really is a rich man. I cannot understand why he is still staying in that apartment. Just from a phone call of him, everything can be done. So, this is the power of gold in this mortal world.. No, power of money and authority.

After we finished choosing nearly half of the displayed item of every stores in this floor, Embra ask us whether we want to go to a salon. Well, why not. There is no reason to decline anyway. As I and Sethar are about to carry the bags of clothes that we just bought, the employees stops us.

"Oh. Please, Madam. Please leave this to us. We will send this to your house." (The employee)

Really? Do they know where Embra lived? Hm.. He said that he own this whole mall in a literal meaning.. so, this is what he mean? While I was thinking this and that, we arrived at a big salon and treated very nicely. They ask me what I want to do about my nails, hair style and there is even a designer who show the two of us a few formal dress. Of course, I choose something of my liking which earn a laugh from Embra who is wearing a big fur coat and looking really sharp.

"HAha. A-Are you serious? You want to go around city while dressing like that?Even this is in the middle of Tokyo, no, that dress would be too much even for the big party in Paris. Well, do you want me to dress you up?" (Embra)

This guy is completely mocking me. Why did he even let the designer show me formal dress design as an example then? Ugh. Fine then, I will let him dress the two of us up. Embra seems like he is waiting for this because he instantly instruct the employee to hurry with the hair dressing and takes us to the store at the far end of the store we have shopped before.

The store Embra took us is the store which sell fur coats that he is wearing right now. He let us choose our favorite color and design. I chose the white long coat with pockets at front while Sethar choose a dark orange one with pocket at the sides. Again, Embra takes us to the adjacent shop and choose clothes and shawl to wear over our coat.

In the end, the clothes he chose for us looks neat and elegant. I am wearing a black clothing with light golden button at the front and tight long pants at the bottom with shoes that near reach my knee. I am surprised with myself when I look in the mirror. I am looking really good with the clothes. I looks confidence and giving off aura like I can do anything. Everything starting from my straighten hair design to the color and design of the clothes, I look really perfect.

It is not only me though, Sethar is more perfect. Her previous adorableness is gone and placed by a woman of sharp eyes and elegant aura. She is wearing dark orange coat with white shirt and black pants. She is also looking amazing with her clothes and hair design. The person herself is also surprised because she is swirling around in front of the mirror. It is really a wonder that how clothes can change a person's appearance. For us, who lived our whole lives among people who let out their aura all day, we were really surprised because of our new appearance just from changing clothes.

"Humu. Humu. Looking good. Now that is what I am talking about. Alright then, next is sneakers and purses. Let's go I only reserved this floor for two and a half hour. Only half an hour is left now. Let's hurry." (Embra)

"Why are hurrying? We can also shop among other people you know." (Keinnayi)

"Well yes, You can. But, I can't. Let's go." (Embra)

What does he mean by that? He cannot be seen? Well, from the time we get on the car, which is luxurious, to the time we get here, we have only met a few people. Hm.. Why is that?

I did not get much time to think because we have already arrived at the shop that sell footwear. My foot wear is simple but, it is made with divine materials. So, it cannot be compared to the footwear of this mortal world but, it is so soft to wear this. Sneaker is it?

"Why are you wearing that? It is for Sethar. Yours is that." (Embra)

"Eh.. I want to buy this too." (Keinnayi)

Embra do not even let me wear this white sneaker because this is not part of the design. In the end, I cannot persuade him and have to wear this knee high boots. But, I made sure to buy that sneaker. That is too soft to wear and too precious to let it go. However, one thing I notice though, the employee look at us weirdly for a second when I say something. Though it is for a second, I did not miss them looking at us weirdly when I tell the employee to pack our previous footwears and dresses.

They would have surely fainted if I said that they are all made from divine materials that mortals here could not ever hope to get a glance at, much less possess. Fortunately, Embra help us out by saying that those are precious for us and the employee do not question or look weirdly at us anymore and comply with our request.

"Alright. You two now looks greater than ever. Don't you think so?" (Embra)

"As much as I hate to admit it, this looks good on me." (Sethar)

"Yes. Though I am reluctant, these clothes looks really amazing and perfect with us." (Keinnayi)

"Ahaha. Glad to hear that. Now, the last shop. Perfumes and Purses. Let's go." (Embra)

Is it just my imagination that he looks more eager than us to do shopping? Hm. Well, whatever, we three head towards the shop while being guarded by three female employees. They have been with us since we arrive at this floor and they are also carrying bags that have our dresses and footwears. We are wearing the jeweleries now because Embra said they looks good on us. Ah. Now, I really wish I can use time magic here. But, I hold my desire to do that because I am now a mortal and decided to live as one. So, no using magic here, me.

The perfume and fragrance shop makes me really dizzy because I smelled literally every thing on the display when the curiosity get the best of me. Yep. It is because of my curiosity nothing more. Ugh, my nose.. Well, in the end, we bought three fragrance for me and one fragrance for me. It is good that the employee stops us buying more because we are about to buy almost every thing.

"Dear Madam, You can always change the fragrance you don't like. Please try using the three you like. It would not still be late even if you change to other fragrance after you use the previous three." (The employee)

Oh. She is right. I can just change it if I don't like it. I will use this three for now. When I turn aside to look at Sethar, I notice Embra laughing softly at me. Is he mocking me now?

"No, I am just amused. Because you know, well... You are the first person.. Uh, woman to ever turn away from that. I can't believe you didn't even look back twice at that." (Embra)

That? When I look at the bottle he is pointing at, I see that it is the golden bottle with the words 'Chanel Grand Extrait'.

"Ah, that? It is not bad. I would have chosen it too only if they didn't add other things. The main fragrance, I don't exactly know the name but, it lose it value when mixed by other fragrance you know. That's why I don't like it." (Keinnayi)

Hm.. Why are they staring at me like that? Did I say something wrong? What is it? I ask Embra with eyes signals who is also staring at me in amazement, too.

"Oh, Sorry. Um. This is the first time for me to hear it. Definitely Mind blowing... Oi. This is.. the product is real right?" (Embra)

It seems like he still cannot accept that fact because he is asking the nearby employee who is also dumbfounded. She immediately snapped back to Embra and answers sharply,

"Of course, this product is carefully shipped and it arrived just this 4th day of January." (The employee)

The employee notices late that she just snapped back at Embra and so she desperately apologizes again. But, Embra forgives her easily while he himself is muttering, 'That thing cost 4,200 dollar per ounce right? Wow. Mind Blowing'.

I really don't understand their standard. Well, that is that too. Now is the time to choose purses. Woah.. What is with the design? They looks like bags. Are they carried like this? My hand would tired. Not interested. I was about to give up getting a purse but, Embra ask the employee to go take something and let us wait. The employee come back while carrying a closed boxes with the word 'LV' and 'GG' or 'GC' whatever it is. The employee open each box and show us small purse that can be worn across shoulder.

Hm. This feels not bad. This is good to carry around and not get in the way of my walking too. I took the black color one while Sethar took the brown leather one. Next is watches which did not take us much time choosing. We bought something light and not get in the way. After I pay for the watches with the black card, we come out of the shop guarded by the previous three employee.

Now that the shopping is complete, we go down to the basement in an elevator. In the elevator is only us three and Embra start talking while we two are still looking at the watches and boots,

"Really different from the heaven or whatever place you are from, right? So, how does the most expensive and luxurious shop that this city has to offer, compared to your standards?" (Embra)

I answers him honestly after thinking about the differences for some time. It seems my words match with Sethar's thoughts because she is also nodding along,

"Hm.. Not bad. The clothing materials and this pants and coat are not as good as the materials used in Heaven but, this is passable. Not bad for us." (Keinnayi)

Embra's jaw wide open at that and he cover his face face with his hand while laughing and trembling slightly,

"Ahaha.. Oh dear, if others were to heard these words, they would suicide you know. The boots you are wearing.. It would take a normal person with average salary for a year if he wants to buy just the heel part. Just the heel part, not the whole. And, that purse you treated like 'Oh yes, this is not bad' is.. well, expensive." (Embra)

"Oh I see." (Keinnayi)

" 'Oh I see' ? .. I am beginning to doubt my assumption." (Embra)

"What assumption?" (Keinnayi)

"I assumed that you two alone would not be able to spend my whole fortune but.., it seems I have to teach you from basic." (Keinnayi)

Well, I understand that if there are wealthy, there will also be poor. Hm. I am still ignorant of this world. I still have much to learn. My eyes meet with Sethar who looks like she is also thinking the same thing. We nods to each other while vowing in our head that we will do our best to learn of this world.
