Christine

Christine left the coffee shop, her thoughts were full of Uriel, and Lucian was an afterthought.

The rain stopped. Christine stifled a sigh. How will we make ends meet this month? She hoped the Angel War company would consider her application. The pay was generous.

Christine walked back to her apartment building, and she looked up and thought of Uriel once more. What was lurking behind his walls? Why did she feel attracted to him?

The attraction part was easy. . .he was built like a God. She thought back to what Lucian said to her, 'we are searching for that one soul we can connect with,' and she simply said she was in it for sex rather than connection.

She entered the building heading towards the elevator. She wanted to bed Uriel and wash him out of her system. She felt a dampness between her legs. "God, Christine, when was the last time you had any?"

She was angry at herself, she hadn't thought about sex for months, and now when these two men appeared on her doorstep, she was ready to pounce them.

The elevator doors opened; she entered, pressing the button to go up. Her phone buzzed to let her know she had a new message. She took out her phone, the doors of the elevators opened on her floor, and she walked out while reading the email.

"Dear Miss Parkins

We would like you to come for an interview the day after tomorrow around 11 am.

Kind Regards,

Michael Romanus."

Christine jumped in the air of excitement. She tripped and landed in a pair of arms. "You should be careful, Christine."

Christine froze at the voice. . .Uriel; his tone was full of concern and sounded like honey dripping from her skin. "Oh, I am sorry."

Christine blushed. His arms felt sturdy, and he had a firm grip. She wondered how his hands would feel caressing her skin.

Uriel steadied her back on her feet. He chuckled to himself. "Good news?"

Christine smiled at him, her lips parting. Uriel's hair was messy; he wore black-ripped jeans with a red buttoned shirt, and the top three buttons were left open. She could see his sturdy torso, and then she remembered that she should answer him. "Ye...Yes, I have. I have an interview tomorrow."

Uriel smiled at her. She felt herself going weak in the knees. His smile - was so mischievous with promises of something dark. Why didn't she take a closer look at him until now?

"I am happy to hear that," Uriel said while placing a loose strand of his hair behind his ear. "Where, if I may ask?"

Christine was brought back from her thoughts. She undressed him in her mind and simply replied. "Where are you going?"

Well done, Christine. . .sticking your nose where it doesn't belong. Uriel gave her a luring gaze with a hint of a smirk. Christine melted. The dampness turned into a yearning for him inside of her.

Uriel took a step closer. Christine gulped, but she got a whiff of his cologne; musk. . . her favourite. Uriel whispered, "I am going to the store to get some groceries. I haven't eaten yet."

Christine was looking at his lips moving. She imagined herself licking him from his collarbone to his navel, biting her bottom lip. Her sexual attention towards him. . .how should she describe it; primal. . .and only yesterday she was pissed at him for kissing her. "Oh, don't let me keep you then."

Christine stepped past him, but Uriel grabbed her arm gently. "Do you want to join me?"

Christine averted her gaze. Should she accept his invitation? Uriel let go of her arm. "I am sorry, it is still too early. Enjoy your evening Christine."

Uriel turned around, heading to the elevator, and he counted in his head while keeping his fingers crossed mentally. He hoped his plan worked and that she would come to him.

"Wait, Uriel!"

Uriel paused. He was pleased with himself and gave in to his dark side. No more hiding behind is righteousness and no more holding back when it came to Gadrial. "Yes?"

Uriel turned his head back slightly and looked at her with an expression that held no emotion, but his heart was hammering.

"If you'd like me over for dinner, I'll join you."

Yes! Uriel's heart screamed in his chest. "Be there at - " He looked down at his watch, " -seven, I'll have everything ready."

Christine nodded at him. "I'll be there."

Uriel gave her a wave and went into the elevator, going down. Christine was still standing in the hall. What did she do? Was she going to give in to what her body was yearning for?

Christine blinked and went to her apartment. What will she wear? Christine opened her apartment door and threw her bag on the table, and she looked down. There was a notebook with a number written on it.

So Lucian really did leave his number for her. She picked up the notebook and placed it in the drawer. She felt attracted to Lucian too, but he searched for a connection; she wasn't ready to give to anyone yet.

Christine entered her kitchen, putting on the kettle, and her gaze fell to the counter Lucian pressed her up against. She bit her lip. He brought out her lust again, and the way he touched her. . .made her wetter just thinking about it.

Christine turned from the counter. She had to get her thoughts out of the gutter - she had more important things to worry about. There were still a few things which didn't make sense in her life, and after meeting Lucian and Uriel, it just got weirder. She opened a bottle of wine and threw herself a glass.

Christine walked to her bedroom with a glass of wine - in her hand - she opened her closet door. She couldn't remember the last time she bought new clothes.

She took a sip of her wine. "Where did you put that dress?"

She put her glass down on the dresser. She then rummaged through her clothes and found the dress she was looking for. It was wine-red with a low back, and it will bring out her breasts due to the tight-fitting cleavage.

Will Uriel think she was sending a message? Christine pulled off her top and dropped her pants; she slipped into the dress. She turned to look at herself in the mirror, showing her curves in the right places.

Christine turned to her closet again to look for shoes. She found a pair of high heeled raven-black shoes and put them on. They felt comfortable. She returned to her mirror and took her wine glass to take another sip.

She felt giddy. She hadn't dressed up like this since she was together with Markus. She had a few one-night stands, but they didn't care what she wore - at the least.

Christine looked at her complexion, she was beautiful without make-up, but when she put on eye-liner, mascara, eyeshadow and lipstick - it enhanced her beauty. She took out the hair-curler and curled her hair, pining a few curls from her face.

She put her curler down, her wine forgotten, and she continued to put on some blush, eye-liner, mascara and deep-red lipstick. She looked at her alarm clock; it was 6:45. She got up and took a small handbag from her dresser.

Should she wait till it was five minutes too, or be a few minutes early? She didn't know if she would be patient enough. "Come on, Christine! Get yourself together! He is just a man."

Christine inhaled a breath to calm her thundering heart. She walked out of her apartment and knocked on Uriel's door.

"Just a second!"

Christine heard him bellow from the other side. Worry began settling in her thoughts. . .she couldn't do this. Chrsitine turned around when the door behind her opened. "Christine?"
