Unprofessional

He simply stared for a bit.

"Did... you enjoy your meal?"

Something moving down below caught his attention.

Su Yang was hefting his haul over his back like santa, he lifted his little head to stare, and spoke as if it should be something obvious.

"The ribs here are always the best." He walked towards the door.

Su Zian spoke as he walked on ahead. "The dim sum was good but I've had better elsewhere..."

"It was good!" Su Ping shouted but then grew shy from the man's gaze and ran after his brothers.

Their mother, not feeling the need to respond, politely nodded and left.

"..."

Once it was closing time the kitchen and staff stood in a line their expressions taut as their managing supervisor, Mr. Bo stood next to Secretary Yo who watched his boss inspect the pile of boxes on the counter.

Weizheng after reviewing all the menus frowned.

"Didn't I tell you to keep everything that was on the menu?"

Out of all the menus, only his had everything.

The manager cleared his throat. "T-that... since the original owners didn't have many customers, I thought it'd be okay to substitute the less popular dishes with something new..."

So he pretended to go along with it by deceiving him with his menu? "Fine. But why take off an entire section?"

"That...regarding the ones Mr. Yo showed me...those menus were misprints that should have been thrown away...I truly have no excuse as to how they got mixed up...As you can see all the other menus are the same-

As the manager spoke, one of the employees had his head lowered.

"You." Weizheng pointed at the greeter.

"S-sir?"

"Where did you get the menu from?"

"The podium, sir."

"Who stocked the menus?"

"...Me."

Weizheng closed his eyes.

"So, where did you get the menus from?"

"...I ran out so..."

"That's impossible, we printed according to the seating!" Mr. Bo looked to the greeter with wide eyed incredulity.

Weizheng slowly stood, holding out the menu for the greeter to see. "This menu only has expensive dishes...Did you think you were being funny?"

The greeter kept his head low and answered in a quiet voice. "...No."

Frustrated, Weizheng slammed the menu on the table making everyone flinch.

"LOOK AT ME!"

The greeter lifted his head, eyes misting.

"It's fine if they were newcomers but the customers were regulars, they noticed the changes immediately! Don't you know?! It's okay to get away with a mistake once..." He looked away from the greeter to Mr. Bo, "But the second you get caught you're unprofessional."

He approached Mr.Bo.

"If you're going to make a mistake, fix it before anyone can find out about it; fix it before I find out about it. Greeters are the face of our establishment, make sure you train them better!"

Mr. Bo getting his meaning, relaxed as Weizheng turned away. He thought he would be angrier that he got rid of the unpopular dishes but he didn't seem to care.

"We're still waiting on the digital menu shipment...make sure by then an updated menu with the new and original dishes will be on it."

The manager lowered his head. "Most certainly."

Weizheng left with Secretary Yo in tow.

Shortly afterward so did the rest of the staff once dismissed.

Mr. Bo walked up to the greeter, who scooted back into the corner.

"Uncle..."

Mr. Bo ripped off his badge.

"I told you not to call me that!"

The lad knelt.

"Please, Uncle you know I need this job."

Mr. Bo paused, frustration went to his ears tinting it red. He pointed at the sink,

"From now on you wash the dishes!"

A clear voice rang from the kitchen entrance. "It'd be better to leave him cleaning the bathrooms, he doesn't have the strength."

"Ms. An? You're not supposed to be in here."

She checked her nails completely ignoring him as she addressed the greeter. "Mother went out of her way to show you mercy and get you a good job after divorcing sister, but as expected, a useless bum will always be a useless bum. Hmph!"

"What do you want?!" The new janitor lost his earlier remorse at the sight of her

"If you ruin my chances with him you're dead!" She turned on her heel to walk away, her silky black hair swishing behind her.

"Mama..."

Unsurprisingly, Su Ping got hungry. Figures. All he had was soup after all.

Su Yang refused to share his leftovers and Su Ping didn't like greasy food anyways as it left him feeling lethargic.
