I Regret Divorcing You!

Da-Jung began to hit Woo-Jin on his chest. She hit him hard until her hits had turned light as a feather.

"Why did you never picked up my call, Yang Woo-Jin? Why did you never came by my side when I needed you the most? Why did you…"

"I am sorry! I'm really sorry!" Woo-Jin slowly pulled her in a hug. His hands which were hesitant to stop her acted on their own and pulled her into his embrace.

"I'm really sorry, Da-Jung! I did not know that you had to go through all this. All this while, I thought I was the one who was suffering but you are the one who has suffered the most and I'm sorry for that, Da-Jung! I really am!" He rubbed her back as he felt warm tears escaping his eyes.

Seeing her like this, Woo-Jin also couldn't stop crying. And now, he felt guilty of what he did. Maybe if he hadn't insisted on having an intercourse without any protection, Da-Jung would never have gotten pregnant and than he wouldn't had to see her cry like this.

It was okay, if he was the one who was supposed to suffer a lot.

But it was all just a MAYBE!

For a while, the two hugged each other. For Da-Jung, this embrace was all she needed. Her body which was cold all these years, she felt warm when she felt his hands around her waist. This was what she needed all these years and also at that time when she was pregnant. Da-Jung just needed someone whom she loved, by her side.

Her father was in a coma, her mother was working hard and she… she just wanted someone to hug her and console her.

And as for Woo-Jin, realizing that Da-Jung was the one who suffered the most, he just wanted her to be happy. He knew that he couldn't hug her every time considering the situation they were in right now, but he just wanted to stop her from suffering.

The least he wanted from her was to smile as usual.

"I…am sorry, Da-Jung!"

Hearing his soft melancholic voice nearby her just like old days, Da-Jung was happy. Her heart was beating like a drum and she was afraid that Woo-Jin would hear her.

"I think… this is enough. Let's…" Realizing what she was doing and how her body was reacting to it, Da-Jung loosened her hold around him. She took a step back and wiped her tears which were on her cheeks with the sleeves of her shirt.

"I have to go home." She said softly and turned around to leave.

Just as she was leaving, Woo-Jin again grabbed her hand. When she looked at him surprised, he moved closer to her and stood just inches away from him. Pushing her hair strands which were on her face, behind her ear; he touched her cheek. He glanced at her beautiful face until a smile came over his lips. "You… I regret divorcing you!"

For a second, Byeon Da-Jung was electrocuted by his words. She blinked and lowered her eyes. And didn't know why, her eyes started to become teary again. She could feel her eyes going blur and she touched the hand which was touching her cheek.

This feeling... she used to feel like this every single day during their marriage and Da-Jung missed this touch after the divorce. So, when she felt the same touch today, Da-Jung cried as if a heavy burden was removed from her chest.

"Sorry! Please excuse me!" She removed the hand which was touching her cheek and stepped back. Wiping the tears which were escaping her eyes, Da-Jung glanced at Woo-Jin, he was still smiling. Seeing that smile, made her relieved somehow.

And she left.

Woo-Jin looked at her disappearing back and then at his hand which had touched Da-Jung's cheek. He was smiling even now... It felt as if he was happy to be able to hug her and say something which he always wanted to say ever since he met her again after four years.

Suddenly, something came over his mind and Woo-Jin rushed out of the room after grabbing his phone towards Da-Jung. He saw her walking to the elevator and he ran after her.

Da-Jung looked at Woo-Jin who was taking uneven breaths while standing by the elevator. She was puzzled to see him standing nearby her.

The elevator made a 'ding' sound and Da-Jung forcefully smiled and stepped inside the elevator. Woo-Jin looked at her standing inside the elevator alone with an expression he couldn't interpret what it was for. He took a deep sigh and entered the elevator.

The doors of the elevator closed as soon as Woo-Jin stepped inside thereby, making him unable to defy his thoughts and step out of the elevator. He clasped his hands together and opened and closed his mouth trying to take deep breaths.

He took a few steps behind so that he could stay just nearby Da-Jung. Through his peripheral vision, he saw her take few steps to the right and reaching the corner of the elevator.

Woo-Jin stopped where he was and decided to not take any further steps towards her.

Perhaps it was the elevator or the awkward situation they were in, Woo-Jin felt a little stuffy inside with just the two of them being inside the elevator that was capable of holding 10-12 persons, at most.

He tried to turn his head to his right to look at her but he didn't dare do so. He had just come rushing after her to ask one single question but this situation they were in was making him feel a little uncomfortable and also speechless.

But somewhere, deep inside his mind, he prayed that the elevator would go very slow and that he would be with her in this situation alone with her, for a very long time!

Maybe God read his mind or something, the lights of the elevator started to blink and Woo-Jin and Da-Jung began to shake inside the elevator.

They both looked terrified and kept their hands on the elevator wall for support. Woo-Jin decided to move closer to her and hold her but he retracted and stood in his place all the while trying to balance himself on the shaky elevator.

Few seconds later, the elevator came to a halt and all the lights inside the elevator went off. Within seconds, everything turned pitch black and Da-Jung let out a scream.
